  1. hahaha, i have no idea how much the engines even go for atm, thats why i am just doin my homework to figure out whether or not its worth the time and money. wht do you think??
  2. hey guys, i'm abit new on this forum. but i came here needing help on the same topic, currently i have an r33 and i wanted to implant a RB26DETT engine into it. But i've had trouble finding prices for the engine in itself... how much would it cost me to get my hands on a decent engine, and as you guys have explained further up top a normal gts t gear box is enuf?? also are there any other things that need to be changed?, will the engine fit into the car perfectly??...any help would be great, thanks guys
  3. damn... i wish i had that kinda cash. Maybe later on in my life when i make the millions but i think atm a V8 is definitely out of the question lol
  4. how much is it for a V8 engine transplant?
  5. really? i hope it does have more power, my mechanic did say i have pretty crappy tyres (those are getting changed soon). The car was properly tied down but it still managed to slightly skip out. hmmm i hope there is more power but 96.4 kw out of the factory is not half that bad at all. Well see how much better the car can fare once a good exhaust and better cold air induction are put into place.
  6. umm i am not too sure to be honest, my mechanic was doing his buisness i couldn't really make out the graph and the results thingy because thats what i was looking at the whole time, that and the ringing in my ears from the wheels spinning. There was much more down torque then what i had imagined, luckily the car had been strapped down!
  7. Hey everyone, well as i said last time i was putting my r33 on the dyno for a good old rest run, and the results werent as bad as i thought. in actualy fact i was quite impressed. 96.5 kw at the wheel, so basically thats around 144 kw from the motor, considering there are no mods to my car what so ever i would say its a pretty pleaseing result. With cold air intake and a good exhaust plus extractors i am well on my way to putting it well over a 110-120 and thats not bad considering its running without a turbo
  8. how come you guys got it all so cheap, everywhere i went they all told me 4,000 and thats non turbo... what the hell! and i being jibbed?
  9. okay thanks for that, well tommorow i am putting the car on the dyno too see how much a non turbo skyline can pull. and from there i can decide what i can do with her to make it run even better.
  10. hey i know how you feel, i went through the same thing when i recently got my r33 N/A If you want full comp insurance give up because you won't fine it, unless your willing to fork out like 4 grand. Third party fire and theft (just drive carefully ) I have my insurance coverage at that for somthing like 600, me thinks i am rating 6 i am with just cars insurance, apparently RACV and AAMI won't accept the car under your parents name, meaning if you drive and you have an accident its not covered. thats what i have heard. well hope it helps
  11. okay thanks for that, i'll have to look into it and do some more research. By the way, i was just wondering, what type of fuel everyone is putting into there skylines. i always use synergy 8000, is optimax or Bp's ultimate fuel better or worse. or is there even a diff?
  12. oh okay, cool cool. well i guess first things first i gotta pay off the car lol another 5 grand left to go, should be done by christmas, after that i can do what i can to it. First things first tho i think i need new wheels, the stock wheels don't look all that nice
  13. cool cool, thanks for that. by the way, i spoke to my mechanic and he said that i should get a programmable chip for the car... is that worth it? i always thought that stuff was for high performance cars.
  14. haha, "commonwhores" i never heard that one before. but that was kinda my plan, just new mags, lowered cold air intake and exhaust system. Because stock standard they already look like really nice cars. thanks for the input tho nismoman
