  1. If Chelsea would fecking play even slightly like they did in the second half last night a bit more often they'd be comfortably in the Champions league places, and possibly still in the Champions league

De Gea isn't a half bad shot stopper these days either! At the same time some great chances but still couldn't convert alot of them. 2 pretty epic finishes from Ramires and Hazard though!

Also, Nani.. Straight red every day of the week I was about to post a pic similar to Plattsy's! United fans do my f**kin head in!

  2. It 'may' fix the common roundabout problem of people entering from the left lane, but continues to turn right causing the car on the right lane that's going straight to stop quickly to avoid an accident.

This always happens at the Kingsford roundabout and it shts me to tears. Nowadays I always go straight in the left lane so grandmas and soccermums won't give me a lovetap on the side of the car.

The only thing that could possibly fix that roundabout is traffic lights. No one has a clue what they're doing on it and it's just stupid, mostly a 2 lane roundabout with one section of a single lane?! Have had many a near miss with idiots there.

  3. He really isnt the same player as he was at Liverpool. Against Arsenal and even last night he was through on goal and just dwelled on it for too long and farked up

Yeah it's been a while now I still don't know why I'm still waiting for him to 'come good'. He gets a fair few chances he would have buried when he was playing for Liverpool but I still reckon he'll click somehow with those 3 behind him he just needs to score a few weeks in a row. Otherwise he'll be facing pretty stiff competition from Sturridge for the lone striker role.

  4. I dislocated my ankle and tore 4 of its ligaments a few years back, so it's a bit different to having a fracture in there as well - that would be the main worry with any exercise, regardless if it's a complete fracture or hairline etc. You should be alright with most upper body exercises - just be sure of your balance as you could use the bad foot in a reflex if you aren't properly careful (as I did - it hurts!).

Also if you're sitting around a lot it would be worth having a look at basic range-of-motion exercises for your back and upper body as well as knees/hips if you can. And with the upper body work you can use much lighter weights and use it as more of a cardio exercise than for muscle.

Try and work your other leg a bit, though crutches will also give you a bit of a work out and the sole use of one leg will help it, the leg that won't be being used will be a fair bit skinnier in 2 months time!

I think just try out your exercises in a couple of weeks and find the ones you're most comfortable with and go from there. Sounds like you may get a full cast which is more intrusive I guess, I had a back slab of plaster down my calf and under my foot so I could shower without it when it eventually didn't hurt to try and remove - this also allowed me to get into a pool after about 6 weeks - lots of exercises can be done there particularly holding a board with your thighs to prevent any other leg movement.

  5. Can't believe we won. I've never seen such defending and luck!

Didn't watch Chelsea in the Champions League last season then?

Was a great match though, that 2/3 mins with the 3 goals was insane! Had no idea what was going on.. United's defence is looking fairly shoddy this season, couldn't believe how easy it was for Bale to get past Ferdinand for his goal, great movement from Defoe to pull Evans away though.

How about Torres' finish though! Crap defending from Koscielny, thought it was a header at first too but watching the real-time replay knowing he's volleyed it is pure quality!

  6. I was nicknamed Ronaldo... Which then became Hanaldo (first 3 letters of last name plus 'aldo'). Hence my username. I'm confident it was a good thing :P

I'm not the biggest fan of the A-League either, but that's because I think the management is shit. The FFA don't have a clue. The games themselves are typically Australian, ie. slow and direct but hard fought. The main reason I stopped going to the games (apart from developing a hatred for the Glory board after what they did to Jamie Harnwell) is the crowd atmosphere... It's BORING. The only people who make any noise at the games are the Shed, and if you try to make any noise in any other section than people either glare at you or tell you to shut up. Yeh, because I came to watch the fkn theatre ya old bitch. I might go to a few games this season with these big names bound to draw some bigger crowds, might be a bit more interesting.

Maybe I need a name change to The Heskalator...

I think that's a big part of why I wouldn't go, firstly I can barely watch it on tv, then when you're at the stadium and its half empty and relatively quiet (as judged from watching on tv) would be my equivalent of going to a cricket game :yucky: no offense to cricket fans! Having been to a few Irish World Cup matches, nothing will ever compare to that atmosphere so maybe I've ruined it for myself.

Martin, you're a bit old eh? So would've been original Ronaldo. He's that fat bloke eh?

    Srsly though, Heskey. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

Hahahaha! I'd like to think it was due to physical presence, however that was a given due to playing local Singapore teams as a 6'3 Irish bloke. Was always given the 'Heskey 10' - losing with 10 minutes to go as a center back, up to striker for a bit of 'direct football' - hoofing it! Golden boot winner!

Even if it was; World Cup's highest ever goalscorer... Still not bad :P

    ronaldo-brazil.jpg

    really?

  7. Heskey.

Sydney have been outdone. The greatest player to have ever lived, coming to play for Newcastle. We will be seeing his face on the $100 bill shortly. In fact. Australia will soon no longer deal in dollars, we shall deal in Heskey's. He will replaced the Koala as Australia's favourite animal.

    *like*

Was nicknamed Heskey when I played for my high school.. Not sure looking back whether that was a good thing or not......

I really struggle to watch the A league on telly.. It bores me to tears, and although there are some decent enough teams/players I've never been able to sit through a whole game.

  8. Yeahh Rooney's leg didnt look too good!

And Hazard is seriously impressive so far.. His burst of pace is immense and the speed he can turn at too. Absolute quality.

Would love to see the Scousers get something from City, but don't really see it happening. Who knows though!
