  1. Looking around at the moment, trying to figure out the best way to do the conversion.

So far looking at the Top Secret, Cross Factory, Nismo, and East Bear gt-r kits mainly, Have had a look at most of the brands by now, and I don't mind the Crux or the Impul kit too.

Buying my parts locally are quite expensive, does anybody know anything about important parts from japan? any good sites to use or somebody in aus who knows how to bring kits in?

im also considering bringing a half cut in

not really too sure which will work out cheaper, just trying to bring down the cost as much as possible, time is not really an issue, I'd rather take it slowly and choose the best option since i'm still new to the modifying scene and i'm quite lost at the moment ..

    1. Buying parts locally

    2. Importing parts from Japan

    3. Bringing a half cut of a gt-r in

if anybody has any experience in this could you lend us a hand?

    cheers

Hi again, i just wanted to ask you how far you going with the conversion again? just the front or all over?

i think we discussed just the front however if you are going all over keep in mind you will have to change the side skirts if you go the GTR Rear quarters and also if you go the rear quarters you will need to change the rear bar as well to GTR as it flares outwards to line up with the rear quarters and also you will need to change the petrol lid as well. You may get away with the existing tail light outside covers depending how particular you are being or else you will need to change those as well.and once you have completed all over conversion then you will need to consider new rims to fit into those GTR guards. After its complete then i guess its of to the engine swap........ $$$$$$$$ lol

As for purchasing places like Import Monster can bring parts in for you as well, they have informed me this before ,so long as i know what im seeking etc and all details they maybe able to get it in for me shipped through them.

I use their service for all my yahoo japan auctions i have won etc. Never had a problem. Some paarts on yahoo japan are cheap and some may work out more expensive once you add shipping fees etc as compared to if you ordered direct from Nissan, example a petrol lid cover would have cost me just on $199 to get it in my hands via the auctions and this was a 2nd hand item too, so i decided to call up local nissan dealer to get a cost how much to order in from them brand new and it was only $119 so keep an eye on things like that too.

anyway all the best on this

    cheers,

    David.

  2. stickers arent a mod. very nice car though, if only you didnt have the ghey factory option wing

+1 on the wing, they really stand out , i personally dont understand how Nissan thought this looks appealing to people, maybe its just me.

hey nice 34 though all the same.

    cheers,

    David

  3. Its an odd item to sell, but i just had the MFD installed into my 34 and i already ordered the factory wiring loom from Nissan Japan, waited ages and got fed up so purchased this one from Yahoo Auctions Japan for $217 then shiiping on top nearly $290 total.,anyhow the Nissan one arrived the next day after i ordered this so i got a spare.

Great if you thinking of putting a MFD into your NON GTR skyline or other car. saves a lot of headaches with wiring.

note: to purchase the wiring loom from Nissan it is $200 but then you need to strip it down and pretty much make it look like the pictures below,so here the work is all done.

all im asking is $180 plus postage on top

    see pic below

    thanks for looking

    cheers,

    David.

  4. Hey everybody,

I'm starting to look at converting my 25GT 34 into a gt-r, going to start with the front end first.

So far I have decided on:

Either an East Bear or a Top Secret Front bumper

    GT-R front fenders from Vivagarage

Type W fibreglass bonnet also from Vivagarage.

Is there any others parts I will need?

Also, where is a good place to find a Top Secret Front Bumper (gt-r style, not gtt)?

Final question, is there a place anybody can recommend in perth to fit and spray the parts on who charges a reasonable price? my pockets will be severely damaged just buying the parts, hoping not to spend another fortune on fitting and spraying.

    Thanks!

You will need the hinges for the bonnet and the latch/lock mechanism, this is a special order part from Nissan Japan, estimate closer side to $500 for these parts depending on the yen value to our dollar., do a search its been covered in the past.

im already at the rear end of the on going project

i just finished getting installed the R34 GTR MFD into the console as well see pic.

good luck with this project it has been expensive for myself so i know what your going through.

    cheers,

    David.

  5. guess what nigZ, just got sold!!!!

David, it did/does still work yea, might just get the formalities out the way!!

can you pm pics of the shroud you were using, i DO have one but need to see if is OK for this cluster.

    cheers nat0

Hi Nate, i take it you purchased it from ebay right.

It is basically plug and play into the same shroud as the factory one, take out the vents undo the front screws holding it in and remove the unit with shroud then unplug the loom on the back and un screw the old guage cluster from the shroud and put th new one in (reverse procedure ,take you 5 minutes if that .

Yes it works perfect, i only removed it because i now have R34 GTR MFD in its place.
