If this car was complied under the system the vin should read something like this "6T91MPV97......." It will not match the origional Chassis # on the firewall. It still should have been 17 digits so not sure what's going on there. Good Luck

Your so helpfull thanks dodgyimports!! Thought about becoming a broker?
-
I'm not sure if you have purchased your vehicle from us but as many dealers have done and still do, we use to hold consignment stock or buy local if low in stock. As the above statement states we will not sell you a car purchased locally unless a customer has traded it in, we will make It clear that we can't verify the kms if this is the case. As far as the name changes we have changed due to local And Euro market not liking the thought of buying a Import. The whole industry is pretty doggy and I can expose a lot of people in the industry who also claim and portray to be Legitimate. But no point. We as a company have made it a commitment to do the right thing by the customers and keep clean. That's the best thing we can do to move forward. Keep in mind we are NOT liked by most Dealers right now due to the kms checks offered.

Not displaying VIN's does not help the dealer!!

seems like another dealer in Sydney doing the wrong thing, The auction sheet says it all!!
Whats the deal with the one listed listed here?
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/432061-v36-sedan-sydney-dealerships/page-2
'This car is absolutely pristine and faultless.' The number of marks and auction grade tell a different story. -
Not all dealers are the same! There are some trying to do the right thing. The private people bringing cars in without Dealers Licenses are the ones that are bringing the industry down!! It's these guys that we have to compete with. Its these cars that should be used as examples as well as the dealers. Its also Compliance Centers without Dealers Licenses that are selling cars bringing the Industry down, I'm not going to mention anyone, but I can tell you that doing the right thing in this industry is really hard work and does not help when topics like this are targeting only dealers!!

there is no requirement to have this for compliance but there could be bad history with the car either prior to being imported or here is Aus, I would stay away!!

I work at Bespoke, (formally known as Import Factory, name changed due to Euro and local cars)
This was a mistake made by the salesman who put up the ad, as we have another one in Japan that is red also and only has 95000kms on it, he mixed it up. We offer ORIGIONAL Deregistration certs. and auction reports on all Imported Vehicles, so why would we do something like this. The mistake was fixed in minutes once we were notified!!
We offer a service to check your KMS, http://www.bespokeinc.com.au/index.php/tools/odometerhistory
why would we do this? And how could we fix this straight away if the speedo had been tampered with? (the ad was updated with a pic of the auction report and a pic of the dash displaying KMS)
Maybe it was a genuine mistake? Seems pretty stupid that a company would go to such extreme lengths to give themselves a good name and then do something like this. Either way well spotted.

"HYPOCRISY" The mistake was rectified within minutes once we noticed, you only need to go to the showroom and see for your self!! And as to the "source" at least they don't need to hide behind forums, Facebook or Ebay to offer a service that the industry rejects!!
This is going to be a long post - so strap in folks.
DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK - AND DO IT PROPERLY, NOT A HALF-ASS JOB - FOOL.
KayneX - Why would anyone want to do re-badged odometer checks via your link - a website tainted with hypocrisy? Go direct to the source to use this genuinely fantastic service.
Ok - now down to business:1) let's take a look at this Evo 7 - recently up on carsales.com.au (http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Mitsubishi-Lancer-2001/AGC-AD-14170113/?Cr=13&sdmvc=1)
The car has become 'not available' - hopefully not sold! Fortunately I have a screenshot of the ad as it was on Saturday 10th August (click to view full size):Note the VIN number - it ends in 3809. You can find the same car here on the dealer website - note that the complete VIN is not posted on this website but the last 4 digits are. Website says 62,160kms
2 - let's see if we can confirm a mode of operation - last 4 digits of the VIN are always accurately represented on the dealer website. Check the blue Stagline - very unique, last 4 digits of VIN = 1286, website says 107,084kms
3 - One more before the clincher - white E51 Elgrand - VIN ends in 9204, website says 80,513kms:
So we have established a clear mode of operation - now for the original vehicle and subject of this thread - VIN ends with: 7066, website says 84,702kms
Someone seems pretty confident their de-reg certs will back them - how is this possible? At a guess I would refer to this post: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/430241-hyprocrisys-a-bitch-aint-it-the-truth-about-kilometers/?p=6973008100% agree on the 184,000kms but we need to define "genuine".
PS. of course I have screenshots of the dealer website.

hey guys just wanting to no what usually stuffs up with rb20s, Its been put into a s13 so i could be anything i guess. so the story goes its hard to start it will fire at first then die so ya have to give it some revs to get it idleing then its idles perfect, then when ya start to rev it starts missing, took it for a spin. starts to miss when taking off. hits boost and its all good,
any ideas?? its got new plugs, gtr fuel pump, fmic as well
The first place I would start looking is the coil packs, these play up all the time. While you are there make sure the spark plugs are good too obviously. If that doesn't get it sorted then check out fuel delivery (pump, filter, etc) and other things but this should give you a good headstart anyway.
