  1. 3.4 Stroker for the R34???!! I hope they're not using the RB26 bottom end lol there won't be any metal left. However you are right about the M3, I have actually driven it but only slightly, not mine but a friend's and not thrashing it or anything. I won't be getting the M3, I am buying a GTR within the next 2 weeks maybe earlier. Looking at this actually http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/privat...3&silo=1011 Does the RB30 build change the car's dynamics in anyway for example will the engine be less revvy, sound different etc. Lachlanw my last car was an 04 STi, I had it tuned at TRP, I got a 2.7l stroker off him good guy Tony Rigoli. If you want pics and videos pm me cos I have to upload them to rapidshare.
  2. Hey guys, so after some time I have finally sold the STi. Got $41k for it which was not bad. I'm now deciding between the R34 GTR or the BMW M3. I need help seriously. The M3 has nice looks, luxury interior and discreetness. The R34 is nuts, flashy and vulgar, which is what I love about it. My problem is the GTR's engine. The 2.6 Ltr isn't going to do it for me. I know, I know the RB26 has the potential of 1000hp+ but we're talkign about street power, low end torque. For that displacement is key. Does anyone know of a stroker/bore build 3 ltrs or more? I know some people use the RB30 with RB26 heads and stuff but does that change the engine's behavior, sound or strength? If I can get a 3.0 or 3.2 I would pick the R34 is a heart beat. So what's crackin?
  3. Carbon Fibre Supra That Supra is supposedly Carbon Fibre and 1287 kg which is a HUGE weight loss, that's with the roll cage. Apparely they did this "CUSTOM" carbon job themselves, say I could find a fabricator, would the cost go down and/or would the quality of the carbon parts become low? I'm generally talking about carbon by the way so whatever the car.
  4. What did you mean by "build the carbon yourself", I can't do it that's for sure but even if I found someone who can, isn't the cost of the material the issue or is labor what makes them so expensive?
  5. Carbon weapons is looking bad, I seriously didn't realize the cost of carbon, sure I knew it was expensive but $20k for a bodykit with a saving of less than 100kg, THAT'S INSANE!!
  6. Safety for carbon? How would they know it's going to be painted. Anyway this is really looking bad. Why is the R34 so heavy anyway anyone know?
  7. Plus the MSpeed GTR has a roll cage which does add some weight, a daily driver doesn't need a roll cage.
  8. LOL I didn't mean it like that I just ment a 3.2L would've had alot more bottom end torque and daily drivability. Anyway why is 1300kg impossible with full interior on that car? Not saying I have the money for dry carbon but the interior can't be 100kg + can it?
  9. What's the biggest displacement I can get for the R34 from the RB26 (big bore, stroker etc) I know HKS had a 2.8 but isn't there a 2.9 or 3.0l?
  10. This is looking kind of stupid lol for me I didn't think the goal was so hard, $20k on bodywork?!! The stock car is 1540kg right? Why are they so hard to make lighter, my STi doesn't have much CF, full interior except race seats, no spare, carpets, lighter battery, lighter wheels and brakes and I got it down to 1320kg. I know the STi is a lighter car to begin with but how come the R34 is so heavy? What kind of pushed me away from getting one 2 years ago was the engine, I know this sounds stupid but the RB26 is small for a car of that weight, sure it can get high power easily but I'm talking about low end torque for street driving. They should have made it a 3.2l or 3.4l. Anyway I'm kind of having doubts about this because I'm not exactly loaded, my STi is up for sale and I've got like $45k in the bank but I don't want to spend it all on the car lol.
  11. What about custom carbon fabrication as in a wrokshop takes the bumpers and doors, etc and makes molds then makes a carbon version.
  12. Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying an R34 GTR. I want to know where I can get custom carbon fibre fabrication for body work. I want this project to be a street car and for track but with no stripped interior. My target for weight is 1300kg, is that possible for the R34 because it's quite heavy. By the way I'll worry about the engine mods later I really need the weight issue resolved. I need 240kg saving over stock. How much would a whole exterior in carbon cost? I'm also going to change the seats, remove the spare, lighter wheels, suspension, brakes etc. But because you guys know the car way more than I do what do you think would be shredded. Remember I want a fully functional interior. Mine's GTR is 1300kg and I don't even think it's carbon so what's your take?
