  1. yeah the car was in fast fours :) but it was in the june copy this year.

Evo was bought in South Australia and i shipped it back up to the gold coast.

It also looks like ill be the owner of an R34 GTR this week, i comp tested the motor and it was 170 across the board so im pleased to know the motor is in good health to match the immacuate body. someone should come for a drive with me this weekend

nice. i am in the process of selling my tommi makinen edition evo at the moment, also buying an r34 gtr.

    which one are you buying?

  2. to be honest I wouldnt bother. I can see WHAT the car is and the costs to get it back to stock looking would probably outweigh teh advantages of buying it. speak to a RAW about it before you do anything. I can put you onto a couple here in brisbane that have done 34 Vspec IIs and some with a few mods. other thing with them is rust. mate of mine spent MONTHS looking at them and most he found had rust in the rails.

also agree with matty on price.

yeah i thought this might have been the case, if you have to bring it back to stock it isnt worth it, ill just call around and ask a few places how lenient they are. i have also heard the same thing about cars that have been owned in the areas in japan where it snows, they rust.

  3. I have had a bit of a browse and couldnt really find the exact answer, but i am interested in bringing an R34 GTR in from japan and im not sure what mods you can get away with having. I imagine it would be next to none but just want to be sure.

Hypothetically what are the chances of bringing something like this in and getting it registered without bringing it back to stock condition?

    thanks

  4. use image shack or photobucket and just paste the links of the pics in, really easy that way.

dumb question but after you click upload you actually have to select them again, just aboe it says manage attachments then you clikc on the one with the green + sign.

thats what i just did and as you can see it works

yeah i ended up sorting it, turns out all the photos were over 2MB so i just resized them. cheers

  5. Thanks man, that really helps a lot. Now i have to start saving, im still a long way short of a GTR haha. Oh one more thing, i heard the computer in the r34 GTR is pretty much one of the best in the world, do most people with a lot of engine work done replace the computer? Or is there a piggy back computer that people run? i just noticed on one for sale he removed the display and replaced it with guages so i thought maybe the computer was replaced completely. but i guess you wouldnt still need the display for the computer to work.

Yeah the FQ400 is a nice car, very rare aswell, i dont think there are any in australia. They make RS models on a few and they remove the AYC and use LSD's which apparently is a lot better to drive aswell, the rear doesnt oversteer when you come into a corner really hot like most evos do from the AYC.

  6. ^^ Well mods are endless with both cars, but the GTR being a 2.6lt, inline 6, 24 Valves and Twin Turbo, you will get more top end vs the EVO (stock for stock).

The EVO's advantage would be the weight, as I assume it is lighter.

A GTR will be a decent step up from an EVO too.

With the R34 GTR, if you are modifying it, I would not bother with the V-Spec, just get the base model and work it up from there.

There are slight differences between the V-Spec / V-Spec II / M-Spec but not much until you get to the V-Spec II N1 / V-Spec II Nur / M-Spec Nur that is when there will be a difference.

yeah the evo will handle better and brakes would probably last a bit longer on a track but i think it will be a lot easier getting power out of a GTR. Ones i have been looking at that have a bit of engine work on carsales all seem to have new blocks. Do you have any idea why that would be? I have heard plenty of people say that many skylines with engine work done end up blowing up, could this just be due to incorrect tuning and rubbish parts?

Im not really sure of the differences between the base model and V-Spec and above models but yeah, as with evos i imagine there is no need to get the more expensive models if you are going to do some work to them, the parts that make the difference always get upgraded to something better anyway

  7. I am getting rid of my 2000 model Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition. The Makinen is said to be the best evo ever built (i think its the rarest too)

It is 100% set up for Targa Tasmania with no more to spend and will be very competitive. The rules are pretty strict so engine work is very limited, but its in VERY good condition so its safe to work the engine.

Thats about all i can think of at the moment. The car has always been very well maintained, has never actually done what it was built for due to lack of sponsors to fund it basically.

It handles unbelieveably well, has beaten GT2's, GT3's, lotus exiges etc in tarmac rally.

All up spent over $45 000 so i am asking for $38 000. My contact number is 0411788734 thanks, Jarred

photos arent working for some reason so link is here http://my105.com/classified.asp?id=16966&latest=1

  8. yeah going for a GTR. Would like to get a V-Spec but not likely with my budget.

yeah the TME has a few mods, its all set up for targa tasmania, i am about to advertise it on the for sale thread on here. it is awesome to drive but because of the reguations for targa i am going to sell it hopefully to someone who wants to do the race and i want to buy something with a bit more power.
