  1. yeah sorry mate, i turn the key its trying to start, but its not firing or sparking "like the sound the car makes before it actually fires and then completes" if you know what i mean. i just went to go see what color the smoke was it was white also noticed condensation inside the muffler building up/ dripping out always wanted to get an R33 model skyline i guess i got the be pick of the lot... /sigh]
  2. the oil is on the part thats supposed to ignite/spark yeah i got A ngk spark plug but i knew i should have purchased the lot but couldnt afford em after buying metal repair, new rims/tyres, oil + filter, pod filter, didnt expect to of had to do so much to the car to do maintain / fix it for warrant : ( i dunno if i had mentioned it but a couple of times had started up in the morning and it was blowing excessive smoke for a couple of minutes then it would not blow smoke. but i noticed when the guy at the testing station had driven the car and parked it in front of the bay waiting to check the car etc and when another guy came back so they could start testing it etc it was blowing abit of smoke. i dont know if that was a sign that i had purchased a shi*ter or what the car was purchased privately today it started an blew minimal smoke, and went clear after 10 seconds or so and ran fine "this was after mucking around with the spark plugs etc" and then as mentioned before i had tried to start again to see if it was dead again and wouldnt turn over, but it completed and i let it idle for abit and then gave it abit of gas thats when the full on smoke began. yeah i tht it could be the coil for the loss of power as my r32 which i have but its up the north island had loss of power and some goon mechanic said it needed a new engine, but i took it to my step father who is a mechanic and he diagnosed it was only a coil, which cost me $5 too bad i dont live up in the north island no more ; ( i will check the colour of the smoke for you tomorrow as i could not see it properly being night time! thanks for replying 99 very much and greatly appreciated!!!! ty
  3. just started her up just then, and now shes smoking.....fml blown head gastket? no no.... pure bad luck : (
  4. here are some facts i may have missed - Check engine light stays on - one time the oil pressure gauge showed 4kg on turning the car to on, then the needle just dropped? oil light is on aswell, but just change the oil recently and filter and added some "stop smoke" into new oil - before problem car was going fine, gf took it to work, stopped at petrol station put $20 gas in got to work, finshed work, came out and the car wouldnt turn over! cheers
  5. Hey hows it going guys this is my first post on these great forums! i recently just purchased a R33 Gts25 series 1 sedan "my first R33 all my cars have been R32" off a guy that seems to of had some hidden perks... i mean problems. everything seemed fine with the car upon inspection but their is now alot wrong with it apart from the rust in the inbetween the firewall and strut brace on both sides, buckled left 2 mags, and the odometer lights turning off while driving at night and staying off and the engine cutting out in the morning when changing the gear "cars auto btw" a new problem has arisen and all this in a short week or two... The Current Problem: the car will not turn over with no sign that it wants to except for the first couple of seconds of trying to ignite the enging, i found if i remove a blue relay in the rear fuse box start the car without the relay placed in the box the car will nearly complete and if it does it cuts out within a few seconds, then if i place the relay after doing that the engine starts fine for a while i can turn off the car and it starts fine, took it for abit of a spin aswell and it seemed ok but i left it overnight and tried to start up the next day and i was back to square one, their was also a dead spot in low revs and if u gave it abit if gas it cut out for a couple of seconds. anyway besides the dead spot i thought it might be the relay but i went to purchase a replacement to no avail, the car still didnt want to turn over or show any sign that it did. today i decided that i would make an attempt to get the car going, so my brother and uncle decided they would give me some help, we tried to jiggle stuff around assuming it was an electrical problem due to the relay swapping mentioned above but nothing worked. we decided to remove the spark plugs and they had wet oil over them which was pretty black all of them pretty much had oil over them, my uncle mentioned that it might be the gasket which i am still unsure of, anyway we tested the spark plugs with ignition coil plugged it and placed it on the plastic air piping to see if we could see a spark, we could not see spark on the actual plug, but we saw spark jump from the bottom of the rubber fitting on the coil to the actual coil, tested a few and they were all the same and also different plugs "dunno if its anything just mentioning it" anyway decided to sand the plugs down "one wasnt working so it was replaced with a new plug" and install them back into the motor etc, turned the key and the engine still wouldn't turn over with signs of it wanting too. i did the relay swap thing to get it running again but now noticed theirs really no power / response, can floor the gas and the car barely moves like it should felt like it was in third or forth gear. also i assume R33 series 1 park lights do not come on when u have the key turnt to on? when i turn the key to on the park lights come on and if i set the switch to park lights nothing happens cause they are already on then i click to full and normal full lights work and the hi beam work also, wiring problem? i would like a opinion on the problem here first to weither its something i could possibly fix or weither my best bet is to take it to a auto electrican or a mechanic, maybe i need to take it to both! thanks for reading guys hopefully someone who's had a similar problem / experience can shed some light on the situation Regards Magnum, NZ
