  1. God damn Greek chicks make good wives. I come from Macedonia, just north of Greece and we came here for the same reason. Better life quality. Life is much more simple there though, slower pace.
  2. What about the Aus chapter of SDU? Do you think that will happen? I'd seriously like to see it become a proper car club. If not I'm joining SVD. Can't seem to get any info on them though. Can anyone help with this?
  3. Where in Europe? Were you born there? How do the roads compare to Sydney ones? I'm from Europe too but I was too young to remember most things. My dad used to tell me stories of when he used to go to Germany. Those autobahns sound cool. You're doing 180 and the steering wheel is starting to shake and all of a sudden whoooosh. A BMW just passes you with no effort at all.

  5. What oil do you guys use? Why? How often do you change it? And is there such a thing as a Summer oil and a Winter oil? btw, this is for a turbo car.

  9. I've pretty much reached the limit of the stock turbo. At the moment it's holding everything back. There's a turbo back mandrel bent exhaust, a 4" FMIC, Apexi PFC, Blitz boost control & fuel pump among other things. For a more detailed list follow this link. My next step is to get a bigger turbo. I'm thinking a HKS 2540 but as this is $$$ I might get a T4. I've seen a setup where the turbo comes on at 2500rpm. It was pretty impressive. What kind of a gain would you get from an external wastegate? I haven't made my mind up about ext/int yet. At the same time I might have to get injectors. Either 555 or 700's, depending on $. After all this it might be plausable to get a plenum made up. What do you think?
  10. I know there isn't a reason for me to post this as we all know the afterburners can't be beaten. But just for boredoms sake, name the best car you have owned and give a reason why. Me: '95 Nissan Skyline GTS25T Why: I've only ever owned 3 cars ('85 Laser, '97 MX-6) but I can't imagine anything giving me as much joy as the Skyline has. Aus spec cars are toys as far as I'm concerned. You know, I did skydiving last year and there was a disclaimer that went something like this. 'We are not held responsible for loss of quality/enjoyment of life' What this means is that once you try skydiving, everything else will seem s**t compared to it. Nissan should have a disclaimer like this. :mrgreen: Can you imagine owning a Ford (unless its a Mustang -drool-) or a Holden after having a Skyline. I sure as hell can't.
  11. Prank, don't you have to set the timezone to GMT 0 in admin and then when a member sets their GMT it will display the correct time. I could be wrong but it might be worth a try.

  14. Pretty damned good idea if they did lock it up. It was getting a bit out of hand ay. I was on it yesterday morning just before it went off-line and things were getting worse. I joined just over a week before all this happened and I was having a ball. Couldn't wait to get on it every night, stayed up most nights and even got into trouble at work 'cause I was on it. My gf was teasing me, calling me an addict but I was genuinely having fun. Everyone seemed friendly and I learned heaps which is always a bonus. It changed very quickly though which is a shame. Sorry to say but I think alot of Aussies were whinging too much though. Just get on with it, it's not the end of the world.
  15. What is going on with the forums on SDU? Prank, meggala, any news on forming an Aus chapter of SDU? Damn there's alot of tension on those forums at the moment. It's almost comical. That's one of the bad things about communicating through written messages. Some people tend to take it the wrong way and before you know it you have a mess on your hands. People need to chill more. :mrgreen:

  17. Hey guys. For the time being having eight forums is plenty and as they cover everything they'll serve well. Later on as user base grows you might want to consider forums like Suspension, Security, Styling, Meets etc. I guess you'd be a better judge at this than me. How come there isn't a user cp as in SDU? Is this due to the software or something? It would be nice to have that along with subscription to threads so you don't have to keep checking them. I know there is an e-mail subscription but an SDU type one would be nice. The SDU one uses vBulettin and this uses phpbb. Right. :? I presume this is why there are differences. Can you tell that I don't know much about this stuff? he he :mrgreen:
  18. Hey Prank, The timezones are a bit screwed up. It looks like it's 9 hours back. I don't know if this is a stuff up on my end but in my profile the timezone is set to the Sydney one so you might want to check this out. Also, can you explain to me step by step how to upload my avatar. I'm having a bit of a problem getting that done. It's on my local drive. Cheers.
  19. I'm in the deep end when it comes to lots of things regarding this brilliant invention called a car. So take it easy with me and explain things like you would to an ametuer. Although don't hold anything back as I want to learn as much as I can. I've heard that a professional custom built plenum can yield increases in performance in a n/a car simmilar to those of bolting on a turbo. My source said that this would not happen all the time but it does happen. If this is the case, how would a custom built plenum increase the performance of a turbo. Is this a common mod? How much would it roughly cost? etc etc I just want to pick your brains on everything that has to do with it. How does it work, what parts are directly related to its performance or lack of it. You get my drift.
