  1. do you have any more pics other than the one which i think is your car in your avatar?
  2. I have an intercooler for sale after having bought a new one. Would be great for someone who is looking for a bit more boost or even one of the guys on here with a supercharger setup :-) Fits beautifully in a group A front bar of a VL or could be moved back and painted black for that stealth look. $125 post included! (around $20 when i got it delivered to me)
  3. if its internally wastegated, where is the wastegate? it should be next to the exhaust wheel bypassing it yeah?
  4. what actually does the 'box include'? i.e. shifter, clutch slave and master cylinder, starter motor, clutch, flywheel etc?
  5. arhhh excellent thanx heaps for that -Joel- ! now i just need to do some research on and ECU! hrmm, i wonder if a can just piggyback a LINK ECU onto the VLT ECU and perhaps that will run the CAS ok? *waits for someones opinion...* hehehehe Cheers
  6. OMG i thought this thread would never finish! I am very impressed with all the helpful information supplied by all! I am from the calaisturbo forums actually and i am considering the DOHC and turbo conversion to the series II n/a block. Ive just got 2 questions; 1. The thing that worries me the most is the VCT RB25de head... and in the DIY RB30det pdf file, it says 'The RB25de head from the R32 GTS non-turbo bolts straight up to the RB30e bottom end.' Just to clarify this, does this mean that NO drilling or filling or welding or whatever has to take place to get the head and block to mate well? So, if i used a R32 GTS non-turbo head, it will bolt straight to the RB30e without modification? Because if this is true, i am going out and buying one this weekend! :-) 2. To get a turbo and RB25de head to work well for a daily street car, which aftermarket (stock?) ECU will handle all this? I havent read into it too much but cost is always a factor, so what do you guys recommend? Thanx again and well done on an informative and llllooooonnnnggg thread ;-)
  7. I didnt think the BOV had anything to do with 'fluttering,' it's sound is the woooossshhh I thought the actual fluttering was caused by the intercooler somehow? I think with the air getting trapped with a sudden release of acceleration backing up air? Maybe trbo32 backs me up when he stated that 'WRX's come out of the factory with no BOV.'
  8. sweet thanx guys u have restored my confidence i was considering doing buying a stock manual na VL and doing mods like a DOHC, stronger manual box, Aero Body kit and converting it to turbo. It would ****in fly but i thought i didnt really have the time for something like that. And in the end, its still a 16 yr old body, which is why i wouldnt mind an upgrade. Ive been driving autos for too long and i would really like to 'drive' again! As for insurance, well im 21 and most insurance companies hate that, which is my an atmo would be preferable, and perhaps a conversion much farther down the track. Thanx for all the input and keep those cars rolling in for me ;-) Cheers
  9. Sorry to hear about that Fane I might drive around the corner and have a looksie at the crash site P.S Im in Halls Head Wot sorta Vl? Was it a white calais with a lower half body kit? Sorry again but atleast ur ok.
  10. and what is the right price 33Spec2? Well, i was looking at having around 15,000. I didnt think that would be too unreasonable as I saw ( i think it was 2) R33 Manual's in the Quokka. One with a body kit and some stezza gear and he was asking 15,800ono.
  11. G'day all.. I am a keen holden man and after having a VL and a VP, i felt the need to have a VL Turbo Manual. Due to the rediculous prices of these things, I have decided to go for a Skyline instead as they are basically the same engines but a newer car with a hell of a lot fewer km's. Anyway, i just sold my VP and i am looking for an R33 RB25DE Manual. I have $10000 (so a turbo is out of the question) and will be getting a loan out, but obviously, the less the loan, the better. This has probably been asked before but if anyone is selling an R33 Manual, (with perhaps a nice bodykit), in or around Perth, please notify me. Thanx for your time
