  1. standard turbo s ? same shit with mine till the turbo blew
  2. standard turbos ? dose it sound like it has compression or dose it wind over faster than normal ?
  3. did it start smoking as soon as you started it after rebuild ? how many hours of idling has the motor done in those 14 months. glazed bores ?? any warranty with the motor or did you do it you're self ? dose it sound right when idling and at revs ? Have you cleaned the inter-cooler out ?
  4. yeah up for a rebuild through some pistons in it keep crank and conrods standard new bearing, seals, gaskets, N1 oil pump, cams and clutch mabey and a set of HKS GT-SS's and what ever else ill need hose's ect.

  6. yeah, i think it's near on impossible to take the head off while it's in the car. next step is going to be to take the motor out. there's plenty of ceramic dust and ceramic pieces in the motor.
  7. yeah thats right there is probs some dust or wheel peace's under the valves. got the front turbo off and almost got the rear one off just some pain in the ass water and oil pipes to get off then its out.

  9. its turbo and compression related thats why im taking the head off to see what kind of damage there is and to see what course of action im going to take rebuild or just get it going till i have enough money to do a full rebuild

  11. yeah the rear propeller on the rear turbo everyone told my what a flamin mongrel of a job it is but agh it couldn't be that bad but it is !! hahah what im trying to do is take the head off in the car but i think the intake side is going to be even harder.
  12. okay im trying to remove my turbos because i have blown the rear turbo but man what a mission any tips guys. ive almost got the front turbo off but im kind of stuck lol
  13. yeah next weekend when i pull it all apart ill see if i can see the cause of the problem and put a new timming beld kit on
  14. yeah thanks mate i wasn't sure if the rb's were really sensitive to being a tooth out or not but yeah still could be more teeth out on the crank.
  15. Yep that's my plan for next weekend get it timed and see if she'll run.
  16. yeah it stoped running while i was driving and ive found its a tooth out on the exhaust side.
  17. okay guy, like i have said i didn't have time to look at it at that stage and thought if i took it to a guy that works on them all the time he would be able to tell me what's wrong with it but he couldn't . so I've had a look this morning and the exhaust cam is out one tooth retarded and don't know if the belt has moved on the crank gear. so I'm asking you guys if that would stop a RB26 from running, because I'm not a GTR expert and don't try to be, still learning about them every day. I'm going to set the timing up right and see if it runs but that's next weekend job. thanks guys.

  19. im gonna get it home and have a good look now, i know its got little to no compression and now i know where to start looking
  20. yeah its weird it just stoped all of a sudden so.. and also im a mechanice i just didnt have time at that stage to look at it lol. i live in townsville .
  21. well i rang the mechanic and asked him whats wrong with it and he said its got no compression and the timing belt is good so asked him again whats wrong with it and how much has that cost and hes said i dont know and my bill is up to $220 i said dont worry about it a take it home figure it out myself ffs. so im thinking one of the cams has moved on the cam gear im gonna look at it saturday and ill let you know. all up ive spent $340 and still dont know whats wrong with it
  22. taking it to the mechanics this morning so fingers crossed its just a fuel pump or crank angle
  23. hi guys my first post. okay I've had my GTR for about 1 year now its got 85,000 km on the clock it get service every 5,000 km. I was driving tonight as normal and i noticed it wasn't making any boost, after about 30 seconds it started making boost again so i kept diving cause i had to to get home then next minute the engine dies, i herd a noise before it died but with the loudness of the exhaust i couldn't tell you what it sounded like. I pulled over and tried starting it again but nothing just winds over and I can see one of the cams rotating, i can also hear it got some compression while winding over. So it's on the side off the road around the corner from my place there's no oil or anything on the ground where it happened or where it sit's. Would love to know what you guys thought cause she's my baby ! .
  24. i've got a 1990 ford corsair as well as my GTR and the KA24 is a front wheel dive layout with the cam diving the dizy. Dose anyone know if i can get an upgraded cam for that layout helpfull info please
