  1. it could possibly be my air flow meter? although i've got two different ones and i've tried them both and nothing changes, and i wouldnt have thought they'd both be rooted. just after it happened my car was idling really weird, so i unplugged my afm and it started idling fine, then plugged it back in and it died. its at the mechanics now. they're going to go over everything, flush out the fuel rail, check injectors and replace o-rings. i took off every single bit of piping and no leaks or cracks in the piping or joiners. all manifold bolts are fine and not warped. its currently not running a tps but the plug is in place, just needs wiring up.
  2. well for starters, turn the car on and let it idle for a bit, then unplug the air flow meter. then take your air filter off, turn the car on and start to cover up the air flow meter. cause mine has a leak somewhere, if i fully cover the air flow meter the car will still idle like normal. closely inspect all your intake pipes for even hairline cracks and splits. as for the coil packs, unbolt the rocker cover case. the plug things with the clips in them are the coilpacks ha. hard to expain. check them for cracks down the shaft. and also unclip your injector plugs and give them a little clean and clip them back in.
  3. sounds like a similar problem im having with my car. check the afm, also for any leaks, check all the coil packs, all the plugs, injector plugs.
  4. i pulled the pod off, fully covered the afm and it didnt even try to die. just kept idling away fine. managed to narrow the leak down to somewhere between the afm and turbo outlet. pulled all the piping off and no splits or anything. so i have no idea where it could be coming from? also for a while it would idle like shit, going between 200-1500. then when i unplugged the afm it idled smooth and consistant?
  5. well the rb20 harness may be useful as i have an rb20? and i need the tps (throttle position sensor) as it controls alot of things. could a leak pop up that quick?
  6. weird thing is how it just randomly started playing up. it drove fine only minutes before. my cars been running very rich, could maybe have maybe my spark plugs fouled up?
  7. i have an imposter? yeah ill have a check for leaks, but what i dont understand is why it would work fine one minute, then the next go up shit creek?
  8. so i drove my car from work to a mates place, drove fine, turned it off. turned it back on about half an hour later, idled fine, drove out the driveway, gave it a bit of a squirt, came to an intersection and went to pull out and it started to choke and had absolutely no power and just died. i turned it back on and it was idling between 200-1500rpm going up and down. roll started it and drove it down the road, seemed to drive alright down the hill, then when i came to an uphill it died as i started to drive up the hill. its always had a problem doing hill starts due to what i think is a leaking injector. also im not running a tps cause its got an rb25 engine harness for some reason. but usually if im already rolling when i come to a hill its fine. im going to swap over to the rb20 harness, and put some new injectors in it. just wondering if there's anything else i should check. cause it drove fine from work, only after i went to drive it again it shat itself. hate cars!
  9. cheers mate. i had a look at the Uras and Vertex. i couldnt seem to find where i can buy a kit from. any idea?
  10. hey all, i'd seen this body kit on this r32 4 door, i think it looks really good and i was wondering whats the name of it? and secondly if it comes in r33 2 door style? cheers http://www.jdm-garage.com/jdm/carsforsale/r324door/13.gif (front) http://www.jdm-garage.com/jdm/carsforsale/r324door/28.gif (rear)
  11. i had the same problem, not only check your coil packs, but check your injector plugs. the clip on one of mine was broken so kept falling off. i put it back on, drove 2 minute down the road and it fell off again. worth a check
  12. i have the same problem, turns out its due to one of my injectors leaking at the top. it missfires untill it hits full boost then it pulls fine. also at idle i put my hand over the exhaust and little bits of unburnt fuel begin to cover my hand. problem is solved by replacing the o-rings on the top to reseal it. just thought i'd let you know for people who are also suffering from miss fires on boost but the coil packs arent the problem.
  13. im not sure exactly what you mean, but my r33 used to turn over, then conk out, then keep turning over, then conk out again, sometimes it would take ages for it to start, others it'd start first go. most of the time i had to give it some taps of the throttle to get it to start, turned out it was my CAS. but as i said, im not exactly sure what your cars doing by what you said. good luck
  14. when my 33 coughed and spluttered and sounded like a wrx, it was cause one of the injector plug clips was broken so wasnt on properly. just an idea?
  15. yeah ill have to check the exhaust manifold for leaks etc. as for hillstart thing, the car had a n/a in it before and the clutch was fine, the clutch in it is supposed to be able to handle turbo, and it drives fine when im rolling if i chuck it into first and give it some stick, only when taking off on a hill. ill have to check the coilpacks and ignitor. and afm and maybe clean out the t/b
