  1. thanks, i checked down below there, it all seems connected, i even tried seeing if theres power coming from the wires from the relay and power windows, my tool lights up. its the first time taking my door card off so its new for me.
  2. the last few days the alarm has been working fine but the central locking stopped working, i can lock the doors with my key but takes time locking and unlocking. i dont know the alarm system came with the car, its a aftermarket system and has a immobiliser. i have been trying for hours to search this and found that its a actuator, or change the locking system, or its the relay. if anyone knows or has had it happen, let me know so i can fix it right away. 1993 R33 GTST 2door. cheers chris
  3. hmm well i had two sets of problems with the car... noises coming from here and there. The hitting noises were the fan hitting the intercooler pipe making the *tinging* noises .... thats fixed now..... and 4 out of 6 spark plugs were just absolutely f**ked..... i did buy NGK plugs.... good buy, fixed the misfire. currently driving the car at 2500 - 3000rpm. Everything seems to be fine ATM, but you guys have commented on the timing and cam belts, so i will be replacing them when i can.... i have seen the belts and they have seen better days.
  4. it was making that noise heaps when hitting around 4000rpm... and also the pinging noise was just the intercooler pipe hitting the fan. ive replaced with a shorter bracket which pulls it away from the fan and sits nice and close to the timing cover. i have fixed both problems but im in the proccess of getting a dyno and buying a timing kit, water pump cam belts. i am doing my best here in researching and learning more about the car.
  5. no need for a timing belt, timing light gave me a good reading...............sparkplugs were the problem...... so when ever has a pinging problem..... check spark plugs
  6. .......im getting a dyno....getting the timing fixed and worked on tomorrow.... cheers for comments
  7. was hoping it was the spark plugs in my mind but have a feeling its not. plus when its idling and about to move forward in 1st.... i can hear a belt squeek in a way, been testing it while holding the brake and letting the clutch out i can hear it more......... its never done it before til this pinging noise..... this car is my daily car, be hard for me to get around.......... imo ....its really annoying
  8. i have and i also have found this : R5671A - 8 for my sparkplugs........has anyone used these ones before? Someone had the same problem and recommended them so ill give them a try.
  9. yeah well i need to find good products that will give me more than say 12months + not something i will have to fix in 2months. Been driving the car steady, just want to fix this pinging noise at 4500rpm. I have seen a few vids on youtube but doesnt specify what the problem was.... i have splitfire coils but on forums says they dont break..... thats whats in my mind..... $500+ for a new pair, just dont want to start thinking its them in a way........been doing some homework on parts, prices etc.....but rather work from the simplest job to the most expensive. any feedback is greatly appreciated. and anything that has worked for you guys.
  10. i never go below quarter of a tank of fuel always full, i do watch the boost gauge never goes past 10psi, i barely hit that mark when the noise comes, dont want to ruin the car....... and it doesnt run hot, sits on below normal tempt. does it in the cold aswell, took it out for a 1am cruise and it still did the same. i have seen the AFM is abit dirty and worse than wear so i might look into replacing it, also did check one spark plug but my cousin said if its sparking and starting then shouldnt be a problem, even with the coil packs (his a hands on mechanic) but this thursday ill be pulling it all apart and having a closer look.....also been looking into buying NGK iridium spark plugs priced at 100.
  11. i do have a nissan store down the road from me, do go there mostly all the time, but they are pretty over priced on things...... just for a plenum gasket is around $100 and i saw on some other parts site for a plenum gasket for $40.
  12. thanks heaps.. yeah ill check the timing belt and CAS on thursday when i have my day off, ill keep you posted. .hrm ill look at buying a timing light, not sure where to buy one on the sunny coast but ill do some shopping, also do some quotes on getting the timing and water pump also. when i bought the car, the guy said that he didnt know about the timing belt, he had it for two years but got it serviced though..... said the coilpacks were brand new and same with the fuel pump, so i elminated them..... but not sure if i should trust his words.... ill keep this updated then
  13. been thinking about buying a timing light would be easier incase its not the timing.
  14. i meant by the timing itself, not the CAS..... but ill check the cam belt in the next two days. how much would take cost roughly?
