Rb25 N/a Position Of Cai
Brendonams replied to Brendonams's topic in Naturally Aspirated Performance
Ah okay, this may be taking it off topic a bit because the topic has been answered quite simply, I have read many threads on turboing a N/A, but can I get someone clearly here to right All out price: Needed parts: Wanted parts: I just want a round about idea, I am sitting on not much money at the moment but I just want to know prices and pieces needed clearly. Also is it worth looking into supercharging a RB25DE? brother wanted to know because he thought it may be more simple then turboing it, but in threads i've read it's harder. Thank you very much -
Sorry to be a stain and make so many threads but I wonder a lot and I get asked questions, "Why aren't you doing this", "Wouldn't this be more economical/powerful". My question is why is the CAI placed behind the front headlight, shouldn't it be placed in a clear line of air rushing past the vehicle. An idea thrown at me was creating a metal box around the CAI and placing in the direct airflow near the body kit somewhere or putting a small hoodscoop on to provide more air rush to the CAI. I'm sorry if my words of description are silly but i've been asked by others around this topic.

Fixing Sounds Of An R33 N/a Rb25De
Brendonams replied to Brendonams's topic in Naturally Aspirated Performance
It's really hard to make an example of the sound, once I get back il take a movie of it. It may just be how a N/A RB25 sounds but I was just here to wonder. If you hear a turbo skyline take off the whole way through it sounds clear and clean, but when mine does for 2800-3000 to 4000-5000 it sort of makes a sound like it's loosing air, it sort of slightly shutters like the airflow is sloppy but I will get back and see. -
Cold Air Intake On R3425Gt
Brendonams replied to R34 25GT's topic in Naturally Aspirated Performance
I had a small power increase, you may feel a slight bit more of power but it isn't like putting a turbo on it, I say it's worth it, helps the engine run better by getting cleaner and colder air/more airflow. -

Brendonams replied to Brendonams's topic in Naturally Aspirated Performance
It gets serviced every 6-7k's just got out of a service 10 days ago, brand new spark plugs, I will check for a leak, it only seems through 2800-4200 range then sort of stops. -
Fixing Sounds Of An R33 N/a Rb25De

I will be back and will be able to in a week, I've even tried without the muffler and it still makes the sound, sort of a sloppy while increase in revs, il def take a video asap. I'm also taking it up to my friends soon to hoist it up and have a look at taking the res's out. -
Hello, I have been noticing the past couple of weeks when I have been outside my car while people take off and go for a drive in it, it sounds like a muffled kind of 'farting' (Was the best way to describe it) noise. It sounds sort of sloppy, not a clean straight sound like I hear from other skylines. Is there any chance I can get some videos on this thread of other peoples RB25DE's taking off from the outside to see if it's not just me. My exhaust system is a 2.5 inch Cat-back from memory which features a stock muffler on the back (Only because my neighbours hate the noise). My exhaust also has 3 resantors, I was wondering which part of the exhaust would be making this noise, from my understanding I thought 3 resantors were too many (Just too quiet xD) also would it be the stock muffler, although I think I remember it doing it with my 3.5 inch mangaflow on the car as well. Any posts/ideas will help Thank you Brendonams

Thanks for all your help, il try and and take it in again to get a centre muffler put on it.
-
Just any brand of center muffler or is there any recommended brands?
-
Is it worth looking for a muffler with a buttlefly valve that would suit my car or just take it in to get a centre muffler put on?
-
Yeah, when I bought it the owner said it has a Catback exhaust on it, il take a photo of underneath the car tonight to see if you can tell. I live in Tasmania and i've taken it to a muffler specialist, he put another reasonator or something in it, he said there is no space for a second muffler and he said nothing else. The attachment is kind of like what I have on my car (Not exact)

Ok, il have a look at getting a standard one, um I bought the car with the muffler on it. All i pretty much know is it has a Catback exhaust and the magnaflow muffler and it has a K&N Cold air intake. How does the standard one sound and am I really going to get more power with a standard one? Ideas from others maybe as well?

Hello, At this time I have a Magnaflow muffler on my car. I like the muffler, but I do a lot of long distance travelling and when you are in lower rev ranges (1500-3500RPM) the exhaust is very loud. Being distance travelling there is hills where the RPM is in that cruise range and the minute you start going up hill/increasing the accelerator the car is very loud. I have tried getting over it, but it's so loud you can't hear the radio, you end up with your ears aching and sometimes after a while you even get a headache. I was wondering if there was any ways to quieten this around that rev range when it's straining more or is there a better muffler, performance and sound wise out there?. 1993 R33 GTS RB25DE Thank you.
