  1. My 85 N14ET Exa would have been faster
  2. Noob question but what does that mean?
  3. Is 8100 xcess better than xmax? What's the difference?
  4. The oil filter on mine is hand tightened and considering the location it looks so simple! I had a 147 GTA Alfa before the skyline and you had to undo and move the exhaust to reach the oil filter comfortably...
  5. Awesome advice thanks guys The k&n with the nut, what a brilliant idea! Why don't they all do that... Also does anyone have an image of where the oil sump bolt is?
  6. Thanks for the advice Rolls, I think I'll go the cheaper option Motul, does seem to make sense when you put it in the new motor perspective. Now... Where do I get my hands on it? Supercheap doesn't stock Motul right? I'm in Sydney. Where do I get a Nissan oil filter?
  7. It's only got 80000kms and doesn't seem to be using much oil at all, also temp needle never over half. Previous owner said he always ran Motul oil but not sure which one, I'd like to continue using the same one because its a nice drive feel ATM, so 300v is the best choice then? Also does the oil filter make a huge difference? It's got a light blue one in there now, can't read the brand.
  8. Sorry to sound stupid but from the first post should I consider Motul 300v to be the best oil to use? Where can I get some? I have a R33 RB25DET daily driver so should I be using 10w30? Thanks in advance!
  9. Thanks everyone for your comments
  10. Hmmm the oil on the road scenario is starting to me more sense to me at present... I don't see how being in a lower gear could have avoided my spin out considering it would have been easier to hit boost under acceleration.
  11. Ok ok everyone finished flaming? Obviously I posted this to get tips to avoid it happening again. As I mentioned this is my first RWD car, my previous was an Alfa 147 GTA, same power as skyline (power/weight is higher) but all delivered to the front wheels so a very different driving experience. I have owned 15 cars in the 10 years I've held my license and have never felt so out of control. I'm hardly inexperienced... As for my gear selection, im usually in 5th after 60kmp/h to reduce fuel consumption and was not expecting the boost so much with slight acceleration. Thanks for the constructive comments guys who gave them, defensive driving course sounds like a good way to avoid this, I'd love to get on a skid pan one day. Cheers.
  12. Having only driven FWD cars in the past I had my first spin out in my R33 after owning it for a week. It's raining in Sydney tonight and I was on the on ramp to the harbour bridge out of china town the part that darling harbour backs onto. Was doing 60km/h around a slight bend in 5th, accelerated a bit, boost kicked in and suddenly I did a full 360 spin and was very luck not to hit the side barriers. Had stalled the car and was clapped and wolf whistled by standers by as I started the car and slowly drove off. I'd had 2 beers (full license) and was thanking my stars no cops came past... Just wondering why it's so easy to spin out? Could be down to my tyres, stock rims and no name brand, previous owners tyres. Anyways just thought I'd post this because to be honest I have never felt so out of control in a car and never have I felt that rush before! Lol
  13. Great thanks dude, thats cleared it up for me. What is safe boost to be running on stock internals? Only had it a week and starting to get bored of 7 psi.
  14. Lol I'm confused... what's the difference between the two except for body?
  15. Lol S2RWDFTWLMAOWTF
  16. Hey guys, Got a silver R33 Series 2 GTST over the weekend after seeing a couple of the over the past few weeks, plenty of nicely priced skylines online at the moment. I prefered the Series 2 due to the updated body and airbags. It's only got 79,000kms which I was a bit weary of but it looks legit, interior and seats and in great condition. Running stock boost, only mods are adjustable BOV and Apexi CAI. Stock rims and height. Thinking of mods but want to save money at the moment. Hoping to meet you guys on the next Sydney cruise. Cheers, Rob.
  17. Thanks guys sorry mustn't have searched hard enough lol So I should just have to clean the outside of the headlight yeah? Also do I need to remove the headlights? Any links to another DIY thread? Please dont hate me lol Also what makes them change this way?
  18. Hey guys My headlights are murky as and was looking for a resto kit or guide on how to make them clear again, help? Rob.
  19. I'm looking to buy a FET turbo timer, one came with the car I bought but it doesn't work. I'm assuming the harness is the same on all FET TTs making the installation quite easy, is this right? Not sure of the model but it says ers and super intelligent etc on it, looks pretty old...
