  1. Ok so I'm getting ready to pick up my longblock from the machine shop and I'll have to assemble the rest of the engine when I get it back. Well my dumbass threw all the bolts of the engine in a bucket which I then filled with ALL the bolts from the 240sx I stripped to a bare shell. So I now have the task of sorting through 100's or probably 1,000 bolts to put my motor back together. A friend of mine told me he had seen a complete kit that included all the engine bolts? I have my doubts as surely there cant be as many people as dumb or lazy as me but on the off chance that anyone has seen such a kit or has the info on the bolts I'd rather buy them new than have to spend hours sifting through that bin. Thanks
  2. Yeah thats what I was worried about when I started adding up all the oil that was gonna be in the system. The tank itself is just 8 quarts but when you take into account the filter and all that line and the cooler it adds up fast. I've got one of those tank heaters so we'll see. As for the radiator switch its more of a weight shift than weight savings. A five gallon tank is quite large and half filled with Ice will be easily as heavy as the radiator plus fans but it will be in the rear end where I really need the weight vs the front were I'm already nose heavy.
  3. LOL I linked the build thread on post #3, before mentioning Paul. Conspiracy theorist!
  4. Actually I am ditching the radiator(Recent development) and Instead using a combo tank with a 5 gallon water tank and 1 gallon fuel tank and a Meziere electric water pump. As for the oil cooler I will have about 12 quarts of oil in my system so i'll have to see how the temperature is maintained with that much oil.
  5. Ahh good to see more info. Thats certainly pretty impressive and a bit reassuring so long as the machine shop does their part(I have alot of faith in them so I think I'll be ok)
  6. LOL no the one pictured is not the Trust oil cooler thats an Earl's cooler that I had bought originally to use with the dry sump setup but then I needed a trans cooler as well so I decided to use the Earls for that and get the larger capacity Trust one for the engine. I've never seen another one but I bought it from a reputable company here, perhaps this one is a Trust one?Although the Trust ones are probably made in china too! Here's some pictures so that you may help verify its authenticity:
  7. Not sure as I don't know who that is. Googled Godzilla r32 GTR but as you can imagine that brought up alot of unrelated results.
  8. Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Also is this the same crank that's in the Z-tune?
  9. Thanks for the clarification. I was aware that the GT crank was stroked but I had assumed that it was created for more than adding .2L and thought perhaps there was some weakness but from what I've heard back that's not the case so thanks. I did think the N1 was different from a regular GTR crank, very sneaky of them to market it that way. I would if there was a replacement 25 crank or if it was clear the stock one has no chance, it's not that I'm cheapening out or anything but i'd like to see what can be had out of an RB25 as I see alot of people here(where both have to be imported) ditch their RB25's and pay sometimes several thousands more for a 26 when IMO that money could have been better spent building the 25 and making it stronger than a stock 26. Yes there is http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/155003-drag-rb25-s13.html
  10. Really? Just the one crank? Well I must be mistaken then but I was basing my info off of nissans own info. On this page they show two cranks: http://www.nissanparts.cc/catalog/?section=958#3232 Oh and it was one car that made 1350hp and another that revved to 11,000 not both. Although I didn't ask what the one that made 1350hp revved to. Do all the engines he makes stay in your state? Otherwise I can't see where being geographically close to him would help you know all the engines he's made. Hey genius you don't like the thread topic, don't click on the thread. It's not an idle question either, cranks in general aren't indestructible and I'll soon be in a position to take one to a power level most cranks would fail at.
  11. Lol I suppose one could look at it that way but to be honest with you Paul knows that at least for the foreseeable future he can't expect any business from me(I'd already ordered everything and found a local shop to do the machine work.) and yet he's still been not just willing to answer questions but to offer up advice without request from me. Not everyone has been so forthcoming and others who would have similar motivations as what you suggest haven't been as helpful. Regardless I appreciate the help of anyone who will give something for nothing.
  12. Really I will have to see what it takes to be competitive in X275 at my minimum weight. A top run in that class is 4.80's in the 1/8 and I will have to weigh 1295kgs so we'll see how much power it will take for me to accomplish those times. I have to admit I'm surprised to see such high numbers on a stock crank as I saw so many aftermarket ones and even Nissan created the N1 crank I assumed that some weakness must have existed. I did get an email back from Paul at Red R Racing and he also confirmed that he had made 1350hp on a prepped stock and had spun them to just over 11k so apparently I should be fine.
  13. Thanks for response. It's good to have a source where to ask questions since info on these motors is very limited in the US. I've received some great info from experts and in particular Paul from Red R Racing has gone well beyond the norm in providing me with valuable insight and R&D based on his experiences. That's one thing that always impresses me is how selfless people can be when I'm not doing any business with them and they still give me a hand on things they make a living off of.
