So car is going back to Sydney on a truck this weekend and the dealership is getting it sorted under warranty i spoke to the mechanic at the garage it is getting done at and he informed me they will rebuild the turbo so fingers crossed all goes to plan

so it appears my turbo is stuffed and am now looking for a replacement,but i hear alot of people talking about hi flowing them instead of replacing im not really up on the how to of this sort of thing, is it something your local mechanic can do or is it a specialist turbo shop job. just wanting to know because where i am i dont know of too many places that are "specialist turbo" shops my mech does deal with turbos but i have not thought about this option untill today. Also i need the car back on the road asap (cant have child seats in the mitsu express work van lol). cheers fo any info and sorry about the long winded explanation.

Ok is there a way to find out what alarm it is so i can do a bit of research on it (sorry don't know much about alarms)

Just out of curiosity I got an m35 2 weeks ago and the alarm it has flashes for ages every time I lock the car is this normal it really f$&@n annoys me

When you put the foot down it boosts up then stutters like its missing,not all the time only when you give it a bit and fuel consumption is crap its used half a tank and done 170ks and that's driving like a granny. I generally get all our cars serviced not long after buying them any way plus our mechanic has only charged me for a air filter and he has had the car twice in the first week since we have had it. Not sure how he checked it but he said its fine and I trust him he has been our mechanic for years and dealt with plenty of turbos with the rally cars he has had over the years

Well I will pick it up from the mechanics soon an apparently the turbo is perfect and everything seems fine so I just have a noisy turbo. Just not used to it being loud after having the quiet turbo in the Subaru.So it now needs a service for new plugs and an injector clean so I'm of to a great start with the car but at least there is nothing major stuffed on it fingers crossed

Thanks for the info guys she goes into the mechanic on wed so hopefully all is well and I can drive it without worrying if I'm going to do any damage anymore

Hi all, picked up our 01 m35 last weekend.While we love the car for its size(have kids) and looks, have had a few issues stopping me from seeing what the car is really like(if you know what i mean). Firstly the exhaust had a blockage and a leak so had the 4 tonne boat anchor taken out and replaced. But the turbo would appear to be having issues,it whistles quite loudly(i am comparing this to my subaru i just got out of)but also sounds like it has a slight leak.My mechanic checked it out and it has no leaks so this week he is going to check the turbo,seems to think that the compressor is rubbing on the housing (i think thats what he said lol) has anyone had to deal with this before any help would be appreciated. Anyway great forum with heaps of info this is her, i will give it a good clean and polish this weekend

HI all i have a 03/my04 xt forester luxury model for sale 100k service done in feb,transmission service 2 months ago,aircon regassed same time.New 17 inch wheels and new tyres,diff back exhaust(not too loud but nice purr)leather,sunroof,6 stack cd,all the usuall lux items on this model.roof racks aswell(rhino)113000klms.full service historymuch loved car just need something bigger to cart around kids and all their crap( lol!) Ours is the opposite best car I have ever had, we just need more room with 2 kids and both me and my wife are a touch over 6 ft not enough leg room. Just saw our mechanic and he said it would be fine for parts and is pretty reliable anyways so time to sell the foz

Cheers we have an xt forester at the moment so parts are easy and she doesn't want it be a hassle for the stagea so was basically wondering about most parts for servicing or if needed new belts etc cheers for the info

ok still convincing the missus to get a stagea and it has come down to whether parts are easy to get or not i have done a bit of searching and found some info but just want to know from someone with a nm35 model what parts are like to get hold of feel free to point me in the right direction if this has been covered 100 times before

Hi all new to the forum,and looking for some advice on a stagea. i currently have a xt forester and need to get a bigger car (kids and all their crap) are these much bigger and what are the pros and cons for this car. am currently looking at a 2002 nm35 arx four cheers for any help!
