The kit I am referring to is Whiteline part #KCA 347
I spoke to a guy at Fulcrum to see if they had them in stock and to get a price. Yes they had them in stock and the price was reasonable.
Then I asked if they were a do-able DIY job and he said that the bushes in the factory control arms have metal collars or something to that effect and that they were a real pain in the arse to get out, and that a press would be needed for the job and it was not something that he believed could be done at by an amatuer (that's me). The price he quoted for fitting them was almost as much as the control arm kit itself.
So, as I always take workshops advice with a grain of salt, I thought I would ask and see if anyone has had any success doing this job themselves. If so, how hard is it and what out of the ordinary tools if any will I need.
I was planning to do pineapples at the same time and the car will need a wheel alignment anyway afterwards, so should I just pay up and have Fulcrum do it or should I have a go myself?
All experiences, comments and suggestions welcomed.
Thanks.
