Nah no compression test, didn't have the time to do it. During the driving test we told him to drive in all gears and listened very carefully to the gears. They didn't crunch at all and were quite responsive. There was no turbo lag either and the clock even worked lol! We are going to chuck the car on a hoist at work tomorrow and fully inspect the undercarriage and do some further tests on it ( checking bushes, tie rod ends, cv boot, clutch inspection plate, clutch master/ Slave Cylinders). So far it looks legit and a nice car! Only issue is there is no confirmation that the 100,000km service has been completed, the only little give away is that the timing belt has 92,000kms written on it, so i assume that means the belt got changed then along with the 100,000km service. Not going to take any chances, if i get this car i will be doing the 100,000km service again to have peace of mind.

As they say you get what you pay for. Speaking of which price drop to $15,500 now, a steal for this car given its condition .

Well i inspected it today. It was so damn clean! The paint work was immaculate, not old or worn at all, no noticeable scratches or dents. The engine was real nice, everything was in tact and the car drove well, there wasn't any unusual sounds, the gear box didn't crunch and shifted well, the clutch was good, air con was good (spat out cold air), the clock works (unusual for a R32 GTR lol). I work at Nissan and my work colleague who is the head GTR trainer (has been for 20 years) inspected it with me. This guy seriously knows his stuff and was very impressed with the condition of the car. The 100km service had been done, timing belt replaced at 92,000kms (car is at 114,000kms now) and everything looked good. I still would like it to get checked so i am thinking of getting taken to Racepace for an inspection before i commit. At work we are also going to do a VIN check on the car to see its history as well.

How much does it cost to fully respray a car? Re-spray it white and i'll buy it lmao.

How many mods did you have? Kms on the car? 20psi sounds hell of a lot compared to what i am thinking....i don't plan on modding this car, so it will run on stock boost, so i doubt it will have the same turbo issues yours had. As mentioned i am talking in relation to this car having a full service history, 100km service complete, timing belt, oil changed etc. So if all of these are complete and i don't mod the car or thrash it, is a $5k budget enough to keep it running and well maintained for say a couple of years?

Yeah thats true, but i don't plan on buying this car as an investment. Actually on carsales there is not one good R34 GTT under $15,000 for sale! Well for Melbourne at least.

Managed to bring the price down to $16.5k for everything done. I think that is a much better deal. I recon i will strongly consider it, although he needs the money by friday before he goes overseas for 5 weeks :\.

Any more thoughts on this guys? Anyone had experience with a near stock 1994 R32 GTR and had any major issues with it?

Well i just got back from the inspection. He said he will sell the car to me for $15.5k, however that is with nothing done (no rego, stamp duty, although he said it will include RWC), otherwise he said 17k with everything done. I still think its a bit over priced, but then again the car is real clean and he showed me documentation from the auction with records of the legitimacy of the odometer. I couldn't find any rust at all and there wasn't any issues with the coilpacks either. I am still not sure, i am still seriously contemplating getting a R33 GTR .

Sorry for double post. I txted the owner asking if he has any documentation regarding the legitimacy of the odometer readings. He said that he as the auction report which has all the info. I will take a look to see if its legit or not, either way i will try bargin the car down if i can. If not then i won't bother with it as you guys are saying its overpriced.

Link? Hi mate, Yeah i have actually considered both an R32 and R33 GTRs. Given i don't know too much about cars (i am improving though) i am worried about going with the R32 GTR given the age of the car and the niggling problems that everyone seems to encounter with them (although there is one nice R32 GTR for sale and its the 1994 model, so the fuel pump issues shouldn't be that bad). However, having said that, if i did get one i wouldn't touch it, i would leave it as stock as i can (quick enough for me), which might help with any future problems. The same goes for R33 GTRs which probably won't have as many problems, however, i much prefer the look of R32's/R34's to 33's. I would almost feel guilty buying one just for the sake of it knowing i would rather a R32/R34. I won't lie the R33 GTR has grown on me, but not sure if it is enough for me to buy one over a 32/34. R34 GTR is my dream car, but too pricey for me at this stage.

Its a shame all the ones around 15k or below suck lol:(.

Yep! Happened with my R34 25GT, had a missfire in one of my coilovers, causing me to run on 5 cylinders for awhile before i sourced new ones. Ended up installing Splitfires, which have worked a treat . As mentioned in OP I will be getting it checked out by a mechanic, most likely by Racepace before i do buy . Good advise bro, i'll make sure he gets a RWC done at a trust worthy place and i'll make sure the exhaust is legal as well. BTW yes i am srs about the coilover misfire lol.

Hi guys, I have been looking at getting this R34 GTT (http://www.carsales....Cr=2&R=11300967), now i have inspected it once, going back again tomorrow most likely to inspect it more thoroughly. Anyway here is the deal. The owner said he will give me the car for the advertised price of $17,450 and it will include Rego, stamp duty, mechanical inspection (i am thinking take to Racepace), panel beating work on a small 10cm scratch on right side front bumper and a coil over issue (said there is a slight misfire in one of the coils). The car looks real clean exterior wise (apart from the scratch on front bumper) and interior is ok (gear knob has a small chunk taken out of it, otherwise ok). The car has very low kms and comes with a very nice sounding exhaust + HKS hypermax series II suspension. So my question is, is this a good deal in your eyes? I know this is a pretty broad question and depends on an individuals budget etc....but putting those aspects aside, would you consider this a steal? Thanks in advance! Cosmic
