  1. I have seen skylines making over 600HP at the engine with the stock lines, so I can't see why you would need to for 300rwkw?

cheers, that's one less thing I have to worry about.

What are the standard sizes for the supply and return fuel lines on a 33?

The motor is going into an early commodore

It has VL rb30 lines at the moment, but will be replacing them with new ones.

  2. i'm rebuilding my car and i dont want to stare at the screen for hours...

I'm saving every page of this thread on to PDF coz if this thread was to be lost it would be alot of hard work and info lost.

    It also can be printed.

Plus I can refer back to any page faster than on dial up.

  3. Just a question for the guys who are using GT3040's with the standard exhaust manifold or an aftermarket low mount manifold for rb25det top ends.

Are there any clearance issues with the turbo itself and/or the plumbing?.

  4. While on the topic i also have a similar question.

    This is my set up.

    Rb30det.

    *power fc.

    *gt3040 (600hp)

    *standard Rb25 inlet manifold.

    *high mount exhaust manifold.

    * water injection (maybe)

    Looking for 300rwkw.(1200kg car)

Will :600x300x76 with 3 inch inlet and outlets. flows 381 cfu. be good enough.?

Or should I go: 600x300x100 with 3 inch inlet and outlets.?

  5. Ok then.....

attempt to spin one rear wheel by hand, if the other wheel spins at the exact same rate, you havea LSD and its fine..

like I said before an lsd has both wheels spinning in the same direction at the same rate.

Single spinners also spin at the same rate but in opposite directions.

Hope that clears things up. :(

  6. I don't know much about handling mods, but i was under the impression sway bars do alot more than strut braces...

yes that's right, you'll notice better handling characteristics with sway bars compared to strut braces.

Strut braces really only come into effect when your pushing the car hard through the corners.

  7. But you're right, the question was to check for an LSD, and jacking it up and spinning the wheels is the best way.

    yes that's the best way.

attempt to spin one rear wheel by hand, if the other wheel spins at the exact same rate, you havea LSD and its fine..

    That doesnt make sense.

If you spin one wheel the other wheel will spin in the same direction if it's LSD.

If it wasnt originally lsd one wheel will spin in the opposite direction to the other.(single spinner)

However you'll find that most skylines come with lsd.

If your spinning one wheel and the other is spinning in the same direction but not at the same speed it might not be working properly.

  8. .82 is too small small for a VL, yet for a 260z! :D

last 2 VLs i have put GT35/40s on with .82, ended up changing to a 1.06 with 1 month of road driving.

.82 are fun, but boost comes on too hard to quick. (again this comes down to the application of the car, .82 would be good for circuit work.)

    I'm going with a gt3040 on the rb30det

The car weighs 1200kgs and I am unsure if I should go 1.06 or .82?

The engine wont be reving past 7000rpm and aiming for 500hp at the fly.

Using a turbo that generates extra power past 7000rpm for this motor would be useless.

  9. The price difference between a tO4E and a gt3040 is quite significant.

-What differences would be noticeable while driving on the street between the 2?.

-Would the boost come on at the same rpm with both turbos.

    PS: For a rb30det:

    *power fc and boost controller

    *1200 kg car

    *300 rwkw

    *external wastegate

    *factory rb25det exh manifold.
