  1. Anything under 350 and I'd be using stock replacement with a piston to bore clearance of 1.3 to 2 thou. Remember it's the tune that kills engines.

I would seriously be listening to Simon-s14 though, he has had great success with rb30s

  2. 23 thou is massive, I've never seen a running engine with slop any where near that! Mine had over 300,000 on the clock and I only rebuilt it for piece of mind and so I could ceramic coat everything

  3. I got mine for $150, it was running in a vl and pretty much ready to go. I have just finished rebuilding it, in

hindsight I should have just shimmed the oil pump and dropped a twin cam head on

  4. I never said coppers make more power. Spark is spark, as long as its sufficient to create full combustion it really doesn't matter. 1 electrode plugs to 1 million electrode plugs bugger all difference. Electricity will always take the path of least resistance. Coppers are cheap, they work fine at higher levels of power than 90% of people will see and if changing cheap plugs every 5000 kms is to hard then pay an exorbitant amount for fully sick plugs for your street car (we are talking about street cars here)

  5. So if your pushing 30-40 psi on ethanol in a vq what does that have to do with a rb using coppers on ulp on the street? I work on engines that only have 2 plugs no pistons and run 1800shp at 60,000 rpm using jet a1 but that has nothing todo with an rb using ulp on the street so what's the point in mentioning it? Coppers run fine in rb's at over 400 rwkw on ulp.

  6. Sorry to dig up such an old thread but I searched long and hard and I can't seem to find the answer. With stock rb30e pistons and a r33 s1 rb25det head (obviously rb30 block) does anyone know how much I can deck the block before valve piston clearance etc becomes an issue? The block is stock as a rock no previous decking as far as I know
