  1. Cheers to everyone for all the nice stuff said.

We were just happy to get through this one given all of the carnage- the podium spot was a bloody nice bonus.

Massive Congratulations to Liam & Larry - so many people were happy to see you take the top step- especially us!

If there had been another stage it would have been an SAU 123 for EM. Mel was totally blitzing us at the back end of the event and for it to come down to one second in the end was just incredible.

Commiserations to Ben- this can be a rough old game sometimes.

It was also great to see Paul running the dirty 30- people (including the Nissan flag boys) were far more interested in that car than those (yawn) 35s!

Hopefully we'll add to the dinner set tonight. We could be a good chance for the team award, I'll get my platinum plate and a little birdy has suggested Steve and the Just Jap GTR may be joining the hall of fame ;)

  2. BTW I think Paul's car looks fantastic

So between this one, Ben's R32 and I think there is one other R32 it should looks like a Nissan racing re-union, love it.

Once they stop pandering to the sooky Porsche drivers and let R32 into classics I reckon we will see a few more done the same way.

There's a tricky 32 in the full Neesan racing livery running rookie (driven by Dave Thompson).

Good luck everyone - catch up with you tomorrow!

  3. Well hello again SAU Tarmac Rallying thread!

To say I've been a little quiet of late would be an understatement, but I'm back to talk crap with the best of you ;)

Is anyone running the new Poatina Mountain Race this weekend? I thought I spied savman & a new nav on the entry list?

  4. Sorry all- we had trouble updating from High Country... maybe we need an app for that ;)

And real life has gotten in the way of posting since coming back to real life!

We had an AMAZING event. Finished (which was the goal) and as a bonus ended up being the first ute home!

    We met some interesting people...

    Collected some fans

Had the best service crew ever (including the V8 wizard)

Along with the craziest service ute ever (go the Envy Scooters V8 powah)

Will let everyone know when the TV special airs- you might see some of those skids everyone is after ;)

  5. Thanks all! The plan at the moment is to follow the 'bring it home in one piece' plan... but I'm sure Datgirl's arm can be easily twisted for a few skids ;)

What may go viral is Mel and I's attempts to look cool on the Envy Scooters the guys are throwing in the back of the ute for us to play around with in our down time. Envy Scooter races down Buller anyone???!!!

  6. As some of you may know Mel (Datgirl) and I will be teaming up together this week for Targa High Country in the Envy Scooters Holden V8 Ute (yeah, yeah, we know it's not a Skyline, but it's two SAUers running together in a cool car still!)

Read all about it here: Envy Scooters get girl powered for Targa High Country

We'll do our best to keep everyone up-to-date with our progress.

Envy Scooters are also running a competition on their Facebook page which everyone can enter to win an awesome prize. All you have to do is answer this question: Which of the Envy Scooters racecars will finish first and why?

Hint: your answer better include Mel and Kel winning ;)

p.s: I will still be flying the SAU flag thanks to the SAU logo on my race suit!

  7. Missed you on the weekend Timmy!

No snow on the roads afterall but it was a bit of fun- especially the stage we did with absolutely no brakes thanks to a rock twice the size of my fist taking out a rear brake bleed nipple and all the brake fluid with it.

We dropped minutes but still managed the P2 win and max 2WD points for the series thankfully.

  8. Finally seem to have the ability to reply - woohoo!  Had all sorts of trouble with my iPad and this forum, but found a cool app that seems to work... Sort of...

So I wanted to stop this nefarious rumour The Woo is trying to spread .... It seems that merely enquiring after another's interest in an event constitutes entry (if only this were true).  Boy I had a lot of explaining to do to my husband (pool heaters)

The closest i will get to being at Classic Adelaide (or any other event in the foreseeable future)  is if Kel takes up my offer to be her groupie .... And even that's not looking so good right now - I hear I need to slay her other groupies to be considered at all, as she has set up a master chef / DWTS elimination style process

(now counter-rumoured, my work here is done)

    Mel

I might end up a groupie myself Mel - I've offered to run as part of a package deal with a Just Jap car if it makes it down there so will see what happens ;)

  9. Thanks for that Ian.

any tips and tricks are more than welcome

here's how not to do it- a compilation of our misses from the last round! (insert Benny Hill music here)

The fact that almost everyone had some adventures like this worked in our favour and we still managed the 2WD outright win for the round ;)
