lucky you have the best wife ever eh Duncan?
(and yes, I have a built in radar which automatically detects any thread you post comments about spending money on cars in)
-
yeah tried but can't seem to make it happen. made a bloody account and everything. bastards.
Yup - it's closed. I registered too only to find out it was all over red rover.
Sorry Russ - hope you didn't lose by 1 vote
-
love your work
sorry for the late reply
we ended up with what i think is a normal hotel room (very cheap deal on a good, but small place i'm guessing?)
always room on a couch or floor though!
PM or look for car 32 if you are in need?

mainlanders putting my drinking efforts to shame... bring it on! anyone in onyx at the end of tt this year would know my committment... and so does everyone that was out the front of wp at about 3:30am!
just imagine what you'd achieve if you took the skirt off before going out drinking Stu
-
Oh listen to Mr Important here!
You got a Christmas party in Brown Town?
you're just scared us mainlanders would put your drinking efforts to shame Stu
sif you'd go to Buller in December and NOT be there for the sprint. all round soft
-
lol at Steve's pic! But where's your Kel?
It's there & looking as blue steel as ever sadly.
Time to do something about that pic I think.
Speaking of time- this time next week we'll be getting ready to leave for Buller!
Did you end up entering the tour Snowman?
-
the r32 will rein supreme!!!
spoken like a true Iron Chef hai!
-
well i think this is pretty cool
Duncan and the poor old 32 making it on to the big screen at the recent Phillip Island V8 Supertaxi round
-
Not surprised Sarah was sick given the way you drive that thing Russ
Jokes aside awesome calling from Sarah, especially for a first go at it.
-
How could the safety design elements of that track be ok'd by any governing body worth their salt is beyond me......
quite seriously though, how they'd have/still have public liability insurance with run-offs like that is beyond me
-
my cousin could fix it bro'
get it back on the track in no time
( cmon someone had to say it )
-
So incredibly sad to lose such well liked and well respected competitors.
And a very sobering reminder for all of us who sign those ‘"motor sport is dangerous"’ statements.
Gary and David were certainly experienced tarmac rallyers. They went to Classic Adelaide - the final round of the Australian Classic Tarmac Rally Championship - in second spot and were often on or near the podium at some of the events I've been at recently.
Rest in peace David and Gary

Yeah, we jury rigged an Attessa pressure gauge to it so we could watch the vid and see it. There's your proof it had little if any 4WD.
ahh thanks Benny. thought that might have been it, given what was happening on the track in the few spots i noticed the needle moving- i might get through my gtr backyard mechanic-ing apprenticeship yet!
when's the cars next outing?
-
Brilliant steering as always from Mark- now imagine how that thing would go with some 4WD
Silly question from the peanut gallery... what's the guage attached to the cage, top left of screen? Something highly technical like a "how much balls has Berry got right now" meter????
-
he won 07 in that car.
lol love the crew photo's http://www.targa.org.au/Competitors/profil...0Early%20Modern
lotsa interesting people entered next year...

speaking of soft.... it looks like I'll have the drinking boots with me afterall
It doesn't happen often, but I'm feeling sorry enough for Duncan after his rotten luck at the supertaxi round to let him have the spot this weekend.
Better get that fridge well stocked Neily

Can't let Chris have the goofiest pic in this thread
My gear bag now contains:
Stilo helmet and a HANS device - sports version (the poor mans version) but just as good as its big brother
2nd helmet which is now my back up for if I ever can't run in my Stilo & so old I can't see or remember the brand!
RPM Mondial suit (double layer)
ERG Protek suit (double layer)- second suit a good investment for me given how smelly they can get after sitting in them for days at Targa!
Sabelt balaclava & fire proof undies. Sabelt had the only black balaclavas I could find- they don't show the grime you pick up after dropping them on the floor!
OMP Gloves
Co-Pilote Rally Watch (does superduper rally stuff & is definitely smarter than me)
Will post some pics when I am awake enough to hold a camera straight (tired, not pissed before you smartarses say anything!)
Below is my first investment in gear, purchased with a gift voucher from mates (hence the dodgy pic to show what I'd bought!).
These are still my favourite dancing boots- made by ERG and are super comfortable and a good fit for a smaller foot. Can't remember the style but ERG don't seem to make anything like them now. Unfortunately they stopped being the right standard for rallies run under CAMS so I also now own a pair of Sabelts which are not nearly as good a fit.

You will find out I am usually all talk when it comes to getting pissed. Too old, with memories of many sore heads, over too many years to bash it too hard these days.
2 weeks and a bit to go
I will see you at the Super cars Saturday week with a spanner in my hand thou. You can't go to the " ISLAND" without a pitcrew.
Looking forward to meeting you Graham and thanks again for the use of your place - definitely making things MUCH easier for us to do the next 2 weekends and we really appreciate it.
I *could* be a late scratching for the sprint though- a nasty wrist injury has flared up thanks to some spirited driving of the no powersteering spec March Superturbo and also hanging off the end of a block and tackle (not to mention shoving one tonne about) to move the nugget around in a cargo container today.
Should hopefully mend in time but I reckon Duncan putting me to work today could be part of his evil plan to keep the entry for himself
-
Are you sure you will be right to drive monday Kel?
Yeah should be since you blokes won't be there to lead me astray Timmy
-
Thats good, we will need someone to drive us to the track !!
early welcome then to honorary NSW Club *offical piss head* staus Graham
Is it Phillip Island time yet?

Get In The Car With Us At The Mt Buller Sprint!

Here's Duncan and I, having a bit of fun with our in-car from the recent Mt Buller Sprint
(well you can't expect anything Duncan's associated with to be serious).
For the first time ever, hear what the nav actually says and what the driver actually hears during a competitive rally stage
Mt Buller In-Car: Handley & Handley
*UPDATED*: For those with short attention spans... here's the prologue
