  1. I already checked that thread before I posted this. Is that data solid, from the articles I have read they state costs vary hence why I am posting this. I want MORE INFORMATION on what it cost for people to import.
  2. I am, but I always ask as a backup resource. I have seen quotes from people stating that importing and buying the car amounting to around 5k-6k but servicing and getting it on the road added another 4k to that, amounting to around 10k. I have also seen quotes about costs lower than that, so I want to know what other people experienced so I can gauge if it is worth importing one or taking a risk and buying locally.
  3. That clears up my ignorance now :3- thank you. So should I get a wrap in satin then since they are a lot cheaper than a full body respray?
  4. I can't edit my previous post but how much would a wrap be. High quality, done as good as can be and lets say middle-upper class jobs also.
  5. Hey guys, I am looking at buying my first car, and I 270% would like a Skyline R33/34. I have had a look at a few sites such as carsales and gumtree but I wonder if it would be cheaper to import the car from Japan? Since this is my first car I don't have serious cash to flash, around 8-9 grand, so would it be worth it spending that on an import instead? Having a quick gander on some sites for imports shows that they are around 2-3 grand for models which are averaging 8-10k over here and with the Japanese tendency for take care of their stuff like it was a part of their body I would have to be very unlucky to get a rebirth or poorly treated vehicle. Is this is a good option? Even if it costs the same it should be better, right? Given the previous life of the car in Japan, one would assume. Thanks for any help, ッ.jp EDIT: Stuff like this is just blowing my mind: http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/nissan/skyline+coupe/9596588/ http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/nissan/skyline+coupe/9477135/ Turbos, kits, low mileage, Japanese treatment. Unless it costs 4 grand to import a car and get it on the road how can I go wrong? Maybe I am just overly excited by this - but I seriously want to hear some opinions on this
  6. I basically want something that looks like this kind of black: http://www.bodykits.com/Extreme-Dimensions/Body-Kits/Nissan-Skyline-Extreme-Dimensions-Duraflex-Fiberglass-GTR500-Conversion-Body-Kit-_-8-Piece-_-104157/614820/ The wrap black matte looks way too flat to me, or am I actually thinking of flat black? I always thought it was glossy or matte, never this third 'flat'. To be honest the hood on that looks matte but the rest doesn't, even so I don't want something super reflective like most cars I see. Just not my personal taste. A little reflection is good, but only if it's a little, like in that picture.
  7. Hey guys, I am new to the world of cars, I have only really had an interest for the past year or so and that was mainly filled by watching Top Gear 24/7. I am going to start getting my licence soon and I know I would like a Skyline R33/34 for looks and performance but I do have some questions regarding how I should go about buying one. 1. I want a manual, easy enough. 2. I am looking for low mileage (lower than 150k km or something else?) 3. Service history. I am looking for a full history and should I check it to see what/if anything went wrong? If so should that affect my choice, unless it wasn't repaired? Apart from these is there anything else I should concern myself with? Cheers for any help, ッ.jp
  8. Hey guys, I am new to the world of cars and I will be purchasing a Nissan Skyline R33/34 around 2013 and I know I would like it in black matte (money permitting). Is this something which can be achieved without losing an arm or a leg and without being dodgy? Cheers for any help, ッ.jp
