  1. No worries, I'll attempt removing the battery and routing it through next weekend now *weather/time* but I'll show everyone the finished product once done. I was actually surprise with the picture quality I was able to get with a HDMI to composite converter, it's giving me second thoughts about replacing the screen altogether. I still have to disable that annoying safety feature *speed/handbrake sensor*, so 1 solid weekend I should be able to have it done.
  2. What is the best way to rout the fresh wiring through to the cabin? I can only see 1 rubber boot on the firewall. Doesn't look fun.
  3. Hi, I am in the process of constructing a "Carputer" and I am struggling to find an easily accessible wire for my 12v to 5volt regulator to tap power off. I don't really want to run a wire directly from the battery into the cabin so I am hoping some one might already have the knowledge without me going over the wiring diagrams one by one. Cheers
  4. if you could give me an indication of box size and weight I may be interested in shipping it down to Melbourne.
  5. Look at it this way, my 1989 Skyline wagon with the lower half re-sprayed with rattle cans was written off last year when i was in a not at fault accident. The at fault persons insurance company offered me $2800 minus $150 for the wrecking fee. I bought the car for a slab of VB, let my old man drive the BMW I had because his car was rooted. Don't think negative and wait. I had my stuff sorted within a week.
  6. All is good today. Took a whole 10 mins and I finally can drive at night.
  7. I lose my $40 booking fee as well so i'm kind of annoyed. They rang there "top" import guy who wasn't working that day and he confirmed that it must be stamped with the full Vin number. I rang the place that did my roadworthy and they'd never heard of the law either, as the first 6 characters are merely added to meet the 17 character Vin number requirement, the firewall still shows the correct 11 characters.
  8. Just went to register my 2004 350gt (70th Year edition). Everything went great, until we noticed the Vin number being riveted on the chassis instead of stamped. Damn you QLD and your lacks laws, now that puts me a week behind. Vicroads did suggest a place in Sunshine to have it done, but can anyone suggest a place from experience. Thank you,
  9. I just purchased my v35 this week and i'm still working out my car PC "proof of concept" using android (still deciding if i'm going to hack up a good phone or something standalone). Anyway, does the screen support VGA input via the 4 RGA wires, or is it simple 480i RGB.
