  1. As far as i'm aware, the 2.5L in this UK sti is 1. More powerful and 2. based on the Spec-C. Which means that it is a LOT lighter then it's american counterpart. I believe most American magazines have got high 4's for their STI. Car and Driver magazine recorded a 4.6 and 13.2sec 1/4mile. Light car+powerful engine+AWD equals extremely quick 0-100km/h, but the top end of these cars aren't as great, same as 60-100km/h roll on acceleration etc.

  2. Evening guys, got the GT-R dyno'd today for the first time and wanted to know what other R32 GT-R owners have achieved. It was a RWD dyno so I pulled the fuse and chucked it on, people on the day were mentioning that this particular dyno reads lower then others, some beastie V8's were only getting 240-250hp (they could be making excuses, but who knows). I know it's hard to compare graphs because of different dynos/conditions, but there must be a ball park figure to compare with?. So here's mine:

Remember this is RWD not 4WD, mods are just Exhaust, pods and running 0.9 bar

    thanks

  3. Looks good but do u believe that u gained the 50 rwkw that CES claim for their full GTR system. I mean I've only got an ECR33 although they claim 32-35 rwkw gain from the full system for one of these. Basically, I just wanna know that ill get the best gains in rwkw from these guys considering exhuasts are ur best kw for $ gains as compared to other mods, before I part with $2k. How much did u pay for ur Godzillas exhaust?

As much as I wish, you don't automatically gain **kw when changing your exhaust. That comes with tuning and able to run more boost with better flow. I haven't put my R on the dyno yet so I am unable to help you there, can feel the difference though ;) .

They're all talking about all these 600bhp 12sec cars and things like they're "supercars" when anytime you go to Calder Park on a Friday night you can maybe see 20 or more crack a 12 and its like "yawn"

Even a 13 sec car is pretty much considered a "slow" car, compared with what else is out there these days in australia.

Wonder what they'd make of a fairly funny looking, but otherwise quite normal aussie VL that does 10's or 11's all day long.

Bet you its about $50k less than they'd spend on any of their cars too..

    pft..americans :D

Remember that in the US they never got the Skyline range, they are only learning it's capabilities atm. The Supra was sold in the STATES and they have a huge aftermarket range for them. To be even noticed over there a Supra would have to run a low 9 sec 1/4mile. They have many more supras running 9's and 8's (most still street driven) then we have GT-Rs running 12's or less.

They also have many stock cars that run 12's, Corvette ZO6, Cobra Mustang, Dodge Viper, how many of our local cars can do that?

I'd say they would be laughing at us.

Did you even read what the event was about? What it involved? It wasen't just 1/4 mile times, so none of the cars were setup for drag racing, there was also track events, braking, skidpan etc etc. Let's see how many 10 sec VL's would compete in that

I am about to take delivery of my car next week, it's a 1995 R33 GTR V spec (my dream car) & am extremely excited about it:D

I hope you all can help me spend lots of modification money on it & will point me in the right direction as it will be only my second skyline I've ever owned (after a 1988 RB30 Skyline Silhoutte) a few years ago...

For the last few years I've been around the traps in a White N15 Pulsar Turbo Sedan causing havoc to all & sundry...:P

Anyways, I'd love to catch up with you all on a cruise shortly, unfortunately I cant make it to the 5th October cruise, so until then...

    Catchya  Cam;)

Good to see another GT-R owner up this way, hope to see you out and about GTR Cam.

we must have bought our gtr's at the same time! mines red and 1993 too! which area are you in? dont seem to bump into you at all?? i'm in the southside.  i didnt get a drop in my insurance costs this renewal :) that's why i changed insurers from suncorp to nrma! they were cheaper by $400!

it was a pleasant suprise for me too because a year ago, i called nearly all insurers in the yellow pages and was only able to find 4 insurers willing.  this year, many more insurance companies seem to be willing to insure imports...they must all be quite greedy as they all see that you could charge an arm and leg and be able to get away with it!

I live on the northside, Narangba. Noone lives out here:) .

I was shocked at first, checked all the details to make sure everything was right and it was. An extra $1300 to spend else where:D .

  7. Well it has been exactly one year since I bought the GT-R and it was time to renew my insurance. I received the renewal in the mail, opened it expecting a slight reduction ($3500 for the first year, 22 year old), to my surprise found out I will be paying only $2200 this year, that's a $1300 drop after the first year!! How great is that?:D

Has anyone experienced such a huge drop in their insurance? Just shows that skyline owners are great drivers :)

And before anyone ask's I am with Just Cars.

This just made my week:) .
