  1. I have been having so much trouble getting rims for my NA R33 that i am now considering a 5 stud conversion. I have made some enquires and been told that the labour would cost around $3-400 but that i would need to source the parts myself as it is not worth the trouble for the shop to do so. can anyone in Perth source the parts required? obviously i will need some standard GTS-t rims to drive my car after the swap but other than that what else is required? has anyone in Perth had this done? and if so do you know anyone that will source and install the parts for you? i was looking at doing this much further down the track but due to a lack of good 4 stud rims i may have to do so sooner... any advice appreciated, i have done a search and had a look through but not seen any complete info in WA.
  2. why not? it shouldn't matter what car you drive, if they choose to insure it and charge such high prices then they should provide a good service. i am with HBF, fully comp, 55% no claims and i pay about $950 they have been fine with any enquiries but i have not made a claim with them yet.
  3. have had my eye on these for my NA GTS R33 for ages. finally got the cash together for them and went to order them at Bob Jane in Cannington, Perth after being told i could get them no problem. I got told today that allwheels only get excess supply from lenso and that unless somebody orders 100 of them so that Lenso actually fire up the machines and make more, i can't get them i don't suppose anyone has any advice or knows of anywhere that does have them?? they are also from tenzoR but i am not sure who actually makes them officially. i REALLY want this wheel for my car. if not though, has anyone seen similar or anything good? i also like the look of a racinghart wheel but they can be pricey. any help appreciated
  4. ok so far it's nothing electrical. new battery has gone in and have swapped over evey conceivable part. injectors have come out and been cleaned and are going back in today... hopefully this will fix it... been so long since i have driven my poor car
  5. yeh i thought it may be that, SST are checking atm. i am running a dry pod filter - APEXi
  6. that was my first thought too but SST have changed all the plugs. so far SST have swapped parts in and out and ruled out everything apart from the ECU and the airflow metre... plus it is over fueling at low revs, which is odd seeing as i have never adjusted the fueling. *sigh*
  7. took it in to SST's new workshop for it's service etc, tuneup was great for the first half hour of driving but alas didn't solve the problem now it's burning oil with blue smoke pouring out of the exhaust and it's gotten even worse since the service. it's going back into SST tomorrow so ant can check the detenation sensors and computer etc though i think it might have been a fuelling issue. hopefully it gets sorted and when i do find out what it was i'll be sure to fill you in.
  8. don't know anyone with another NA but thanks for the advice, hopefully SST can sort it next week. my poor car hope it doesn't do too much damage in the meantime.
  9. anyone? kinda worried about what could be going on with my poor car.
  10. car was fine on monday, running great as always and i had booked it in for its 100,000k service with SST. come tuesday i am driving back from work (after finding that some idiot had put chewing gum on my windows) only to notice the battery and HICAS lights flicker on and off a couple of times. a few minutes later my car felt and sounded like it was running rough (missing a cylinder). drove to work the next day and again it was fine but again driving home it did the same as before only this time when idling the car revved itself a few times then cut out, again flashing the HICAS and battery and oil lights. doing the same thing today except it didn't run fine this morning. checked the oil and everything last night and i can't figure out what the problem is, though i am no qualified mechanic. hopefully SST can sort it next week. until then... any ideas ?? anyone had this happen ??
  11. well i got another quote from a place recommended to me by a SAU member for $300 for the repair and respray and $250 to remove the GT badges and weld and respray. this makes me think that the west perth place was overquoting me but now i am unsure, i want a good job done but i don't want to get ripped off. the dent should be easy enough to knock out and there are no creases but it definately needs a respray on the quarter panel. any thoughts? cheers for all the comments and advice btw
  12. yeh good articles, don't know about all the airbrushing tho bleugh
  13. well trouble is surface rust is setting in where it has gone down to the metal got one quote from West Perth Panel & Paint for $1000 before GST! to 'do it properly' and one from Wark & Wainright in Subiaco for $369 inc GST! dunno whether one is dodgy or the other is over charging lol. need to get some reliable quotes and get it fixed as soon as i can afford it.
  14. repaired and resprayed. there are a few scratches down the door also and i was told they couldn't be buffed out and so the whole side of my car would need respraying! the dent in my rear quarter is almost exactly like the one behind the arch in yours but more white paint (on a black car) still so upset about this. going to look for more quotes today
  15. well i just got a quote from a place in West Perth that is on my insurance providers list of recommended repairers... $1,000-$1,500!!! my excess is $650 and then i would lose my no claims... funny tho.. the guy was looking my car over and said he knew the girl that owns R33 4ME hehe its going to take even longer to get my mags now... i hope the person who did it gets their karma.
  16. yeh it just really S**TS me cos its not my fault and i was saving for a bodykit and now i am going to have to spend all that money on getting my car back the way it was i mean sure in that sit. i would be kicking myself but i would bite the bullet and leave my details. i think its going to be expensive cos a couple of the scratches are down to the metal.
  17. some cheap bastard has hit my car while it was parked in a carpark and nothing, no note, nothing. i am so annoyed the dent is in the right rear quarter panel and is about 20cm in size, there is white paint and scratches down to the metal across the wheel guard and the dent itself! anyone know of a good panelbeater in perth (preferably near Mt Lawley etc) that does good work and doesn't rip you off? so unhappy about it, there is no way my insurance would cover it and i don't want to lose my no claims bonus or pay the huge excess. cheers for any assistance.
  18. ok had a look around the forum and found that this is a very common problem... still not a nice noise tho anyone managed to fix it themselves or get it done cheaply in Perth? i need to get my aircon seen to anyway (regassed etc) cos only the heater works atm... no cold air for summer.
  19. I started my car last night at about 1am and as soon as i turned the key i heard a knocking sound from inside the car, whis stopped after a few seconds. When starting the car this morning at about 7.30am it happened again and i noticed the sound was coming from behind the air vents in the centre console and again it stopped after a few 'knocks'. I tested it after driving to work, the sound starts when i turn the key to ACC so i assume it is something to do with the electrical system or air con? due to cold maybe? anyone have any ideas what it could be or how to fix it if they have experienced this before? its not a nice sound... my poor car oh yeah forgot - i drive a '95 GTS (non turbo) R33 any help much appreciated.
  20. this is with semi regular sideways action too tho
  21. anyone know the fuel figures? i get about 400ks per tank (65 litres) in my NA, exhaust only mod... haven't really tested the tank to empty but close enough
  22. yeh i like the sound too but i don't wanna kill my engine hehe cheers guys
  23. i don't need the thread, the MOMO knob isn't a screw on. shame about the rubber tho. was looking for more than just 20% hieght reduction, how much is a shortshifter to fit roughly? cheers Nate
