  1. Hi guys,

i've posted about a million different posts on tyre size and offsets, this should be the last one. :)

So i paid for Varrstoen te37 reps a couple weeks back, i got sent the wrong wheels, i sent them back, and i changed my order to:

    - 10.5 +30 offset 18's(rear)

    - 9.5 +30 offset 18's(front)

The dude at Varrstoen australia said 'deal', but today he tells me that he dosen't have the 10.5 in offset 30 in the matte black, and that he's gonna charge 300 for a repaint. Not paying 300.

    so question is:

    should i go:

    - 10.5 +22 offset 18's(rear)

    - 9.5 +22 offset 18's(front)

    or

-9.5's all round with +15 at the rear and +22(or +30) at the front(ORIGINAL ORDER)

i have an r34 25gt, so what would you guys recommend?

i dont mind poke, as long as its not 'too much'

    thanks guys :)

  2. If you took any sort of time to actually read this thread, you will realize that I am doing that exact fitment. I wish people would actually read the thread before posting. I went through 95 pages of this thread before I asked any questions. Took me a few hours, but at least I know what I am talking about now. Anyone can tell you it will fit, but you want to get the fitment that YOU want, not what other people say will look good.

Either way. With that fitment, you will NEED the guards rolled, front and back. With no camber, you will poke fronts, and hopefully poke rears. Only by about 5mm, but poke none the less. Run stretched tyres, and lower the car onto them, and you will get some nice stance. I have a black gtt, going varrstoen 2.2.1 (te37 copy) rims. 225/30/18 fronts, 245/35/18 rears. You will get scrubbing on full lock on the plastic lining inside the front arches. If you don't have coil overs, get them.

That is 18x9.5+20 all round. With that fitment we are wanting, fronts will be inset 2mm, rears will poke 3mm more.

I have ordered my rims already and I plan to have them on in 2 weeks on my R&R week (I am up on site for 2 weeks). Pics will be up immediately. If you want to wait until then to see the fitment, and judge for yourself.

Alrightty, cheers mate, yeh i just could not be bothered going through all the effort!

but thanks heaps for the reply, i'll be looking forward to you posting up pictures soon!

With that set up it sounds like a lot of aggressiveness, me likey!

  3. Offset has nothing to do with brake clearance. Think about it. The hub face of the wheel touches the hub face of the rotor, regardless of the offset. What determines whether the wheels hit the calipers is diameter (for clearance to the rim itself) and the shape/curvature/thickness of the spokes.

Oh fair enough, makes more sense now! I was told by the wheel rep that +30's wouldnt clear brakes and +22's would! I didnt really get it haha

    Thanks heaps mate!!! :)

  4. Or go to ntw talk to mick and then take your car/wheels round the corner to jax fyshwick where mick takes his cars ;) haha

Also I got 235/40R18 stretched onto my 9.5"s (widest legally permissible for a 235/40), tyres cheap as and it's the look I'm after.

do you have a picture of the stretched tyre?

  5. I have tried to call Varrstoen with no luck either. The only number that appeared to be connected with Varrstoen was actually the Rota distributor. The Rota representive said they have no affliation with Varrstoen.

how did you get in contact with them at the end?

Does anyone know a victorian distributor so that i can just go and swap the boxes?
