I hear so many conflicting opinions about this. I just rebuild my engine with wiseco forged pistons and my mechanic has has the car for a week because he wants to put some k's on the engine. is it really necessary?

I got a massive one on my r33 but I don't think its as simple as putting the biggest one you can find and call it a day. sometimes bigger isn't always better.

Thanks heaps man. I'm located in dolls point sydney. so expensive for a ecu and tune though...wow! I spent so much money rebuilding the damn thing now I'm hit up for another couple of g's it never ends should be worth it though. I'f I get done I'll let you know how I go

your awesome man cheers. great great advice! I know where I stand now nope never driven a 300kw r33 but I have driven a vl turbo 270kw on the weekend and it was scary fast. thing was spinning the wheels right up to 4th gear on boost. was hard as hell to control!

damn the turbo is alread payed for and installed. already have a fmic, exhaust, pod filter. damn I thought the garret internals would put out decent power. I was going to upgrade to a bigger turbo in a couple of months though. just wanted something with a decent kick untill I go all out on a high mount kit. what do you recommend?

Hey guys! moving to qld gold coast next week, as I hear its a better life style here. I'm originally from sydney and the prices here are crazy. I know in QLD i can get a apartment with water views for less than $300...which is insane! wow I'm a car enthusiest. live and breath cars, its just going to be me and my skyline, I know no one in QLD so where do I start? lol what are the main attractions here, any good tuners you guys can recommend? am I making the right decesion?? ive always wanted to move to QLD...seems so much nicer. altho I have to start fresh, new place..new job etc etc any advice guys is appreciated. cheers!

Hey guys I am after ecu for my r33 gtst as the stock ecu will not handle the mods I have on the car. anyone selling a second hand ecu? I live in sydney if it helps.

I think he means lower the boost until i get a new ecu. I saw an apexi fc ecu on ebay for $700? is that cheap ?

My mechanic said he is going to try his best to tune it with the stock ecu. he said the car is still going to be pretty quick as it is. he is a professional drag racer so Id like to think I can trust him. he seems like an awesome guy though. will save up for ecu later down the track

Damn I cant afford a new ecu I literraly have 200 bucks to my name there is no way I can get away with the stock ecu? just until I can save up enough money for a new ecu.

Hey buddy Its my standard turbo high flowed with garret internals. cost me $1500 still need it tuned on the dyno. not sure if I need a new ecu? cant really afford anything after spending 8grand I just hope my mechanic wasnt taking me for a ride. just seems so exsessive...I mean, 8 grand? drove the car all weekend to run in the new pistons. didn't boost hard, but I can already feel the car is alot more punchier and responsive. will update soon. any advice is appreciated guys

Hey guys...remember me? wasnt the turbo...it was infact...a god damn cracked piston. 7grand later.....sigh on the plus side. since I had the engine out...I went all out. port and polish overbored ngk spark plugs high end metal gasket high flow garret turbocharger new ecu wiseco forged pistons running 18psi boost my mechanic thinks it will pump over 350kw at the wheels. getting it dyno tuned tomorrow with vid will update tomorrow tomorrow.

Hey guys im new here just a quick question. my r33 gtst is blowing a lot of white smoke. it would literately fill my whole street full of smoke. I have taken it to ultratune and they have done a compression and leak test and it came back ok. they are learning more towards a turbo issue. but they are still unsure. is this a common thing for skylines? if it is indeed a turbo issue they are going to upgrade to a high flow garret turbo, which leads me to my next question. how much power is this thing going to output once its installed? specs of car Front mount intercooler pod air fillter full hks exhaust boost controller and the garret high flow turbo. thanks guys.
