  1. How long is the import waiting time? 3 - 6 months?
  2. I wont be buying one with 100ks, just looking for things that will go wrong in the future such as turbos with the m35 versions. And whilst the budget is 20k i would rather buy at around the 15k mark and leave some money aside for fuel and repairs etc. I could go the import route but I dont really want to wait that long for the car to arrive in Aus. I guess it depends on how long my is200 takes to sell, hopefully there is a quick turnaround
  3. Thanks VQ35DE. I am abit suspect on alot of imports having clocks wound back, im not too fazed on extras, id probably prefer the pov spec version without leather to save abit of coin but I am concerned that replacing the seats could be expensive later down the line. Anything to look out for with the pnm35s around the 100k mark or so on? THey seem pretty robust, and theres a host of DIY info on SAU
  4. Hi Guys, I had a few posts up on here awhile back asking about Stageas and I was pretty set on getting a pnm35 Stagea but other factors got in the way of me getting one and now here I am again but actually in the position to afford one this time around. Last time that I posted the general consensus was that Northshore Prestiegue and Nagoya were good shops to deal with, and importing one myself from Iron Chef would work out the cheapest. Im about to put my current car on the market and once that clears I will start shopping for pnm35 Stagea. My budget will be 20k, the cheaper the better. If anyone could shed abit of light on what to look out for and where to go that would be much appreciated.
  5. Is the main issue for not wanting to buy again the price or are there other factors involved?
  6. Wont the Import route take around 4-6months to be able to sit in the drivers seat? Means I would have to start negotiating now and possibly put a downpayment on something witch im not in the position to do now. Im trying to sell my van this month and the next service due (January) on my hatchback is the Belt Timing and thats going to cost 1/2 the value of the car so thats why im getting my stagea early in Jan. If I cant shift the van within a month then i might even just do a trade in for a stag or wholesale it.
  7. Who else has the PMs? Only good people I have heard to buy from is Either NS or Nagoya. Or get one imported from Iron Chef.
  8. Fingers Crossed in January they will be running the 3year warranty again. They had it a few months back when I test drove an Arx.... Up and down Allambie Heights road a few times
  9. My budget in Jan will be around 20k. Might have to get the turbo and spend some money on rims and swaybars instead. I would love to have the 3.5 v6, might have to stretch the budget abit.
  10. Would you guys use 95 octane or will they only take 98? Haha I should actually look into that part. Then I can hard park in style.
  11. Thanks mate, very informative. Looks like i can get the 4wd after all any advantages with the n/a over the turbo version? Ill probably be buying mine from Northshore so turbo might not be an option. My drive to work is a nice cruise down victoria road at 6:30am traffic then back over the harbour bridge at 3:30 so I think ill be ok on petrol untill playtime on the weekend.
  12. I live in Sydney, and have a pretty long record with NRMA, they quoted the insurance on a PM35 for around the same as im paying for my Van. Mostly I will be crusing to and from work and having abit of a play on weekends no track days or any real upgrading. I imagine i might add an exhaust and perhaps swaybars and coilovers. If the AWD helps with grip in the corners and the wet that would be a bonus but im not really sure if its worth the extra weight and service costs.
  13. Sorry I was thinking of this skyline not the 36. I Think its the same generation as the Maxima and Stagea so parts would be shared. Also 10-14L isnt "good" but it isnt shockingly bad though right? Seems like the v70's and Commodores all do around 10ish.
  14. Hehe I was looking into the V70's as well actually but I would rather be driving a stag.
  15. Short answer is Yes obviously but I have a few questions if I may. In January I will be buying myself a Stagea, and so far I think the pick of them would be a PM35 350RX. Being RWD I assume it will be lighter and cheaper to service than the 4wd, but Is the 4wd version noticabely better then the rwd? I have test driven the m35 ARX and was pleased with the performance and handling. Also being N/A It will be cheaper to insure and more economical. Would I be saving myself money by getting the RWD version? Or would I be missing out? I am not mechanicaly minded and will be taking my Stagea to a mechanic for servicing, I hear that the transmission and engine parts are shared with the Maxima and r36 Skyline. Are general parts and servicing an issue for Stagea owners? Im willing to D.I.Y lube changes to save money if needed. I beleive the average fuel consumption for stageas is 10-14litres per 100kms. Is this especially thirsty? My Hatchback averages 8l and im a pretty economical driver. Ofcourse I will be booting it every now and then and I accept that its going to get thirsty but is this Car going to send me broke in Petrol bills? I will be in Japan for the month of December and will be buying the stagea once I get back, is there anything that I should pick up in Japan whilst I am there that the stagea could use? Thanks guys, cant wait to go crusing in Jan
