Hey guys

So as the tittle states im building a S1 R33 but its a paticuarly centamentle build for me, five years ago my best mate passed away after crashing his S1 R33 at high speeds.

He faught for his life in hospital for some time and in the end passed away.

I never had much money but i vowed to myself to one day rebuild a exact replica of his car with an off trolley engine under the bonnet as a token of my rememberance to him.

He had a white 1994 S1 R33 Slammed on it ass with some awsome 18" wheels and some coil overs no engine mods at all.

Finaly I am in a position to be able to afford to build the car and so a few months ago i took ownership of a rolling shell that had been in a small mingel at a drift event, so now the build begins!

Ill post some pics during the week of the progress so far!

Cheers Gordon

Hey Guys Ive got all the photos together now.

Basicly A very good mate of mine Luke had a R33 setup as a drift car with rego had a RB27 combo in it and the car was killa, but unfrotunatly at one of the drift events in WA he had a small mingal with another drifter and decided to reshell the car rather than fix it and he was nice enough to donate the shell to me.

This was Luke at the event that wrecked the car

Once the pannels where removed it looked like a prity straight forward fix

So i set out trying to find a donner car to repaire mine with basicly needed and intire front end including the structural front clip.

I managed the track down an extremmely written off S2 R33 for $2,500 witch also had a low km RB25det and manual box so i grabed the write off!

You can see how big of a hit the R33 had taken by the fact that the side that didnt get hit was bent like a bannana LOL

Hit was enought to split the good side of the car open

There was an issue with the S2 i bought tho the front end was twisted so all the structural clip forward of the shock towers was no good.

Just in front of the strut towers is a factory join basicly you can drill out the factory welds remove the front clip and replace it with a new one.

So now i still needed to find a a good front clip.

The other problem was that it was a S2 and the car i was building a replica of was a S1 so i needed to swap front ends with some one witch i mananged o do recently.

I also managed to find a front clip with minimal damage!

It cost me $39 dollars and bit of time to cut it off LOL

Here are a few pics of how the car sits now!

The turbo is a GT3071 with a .89 rear (I think its .89)

The mani is a 6Boost item with a 38mm Tial gate

The plenum is obviously a copy but its already been on a car and worked very well

The fuelrail is won of th old LUMPY rails LOL

The fuel system was already in the car but im not muh of a fan i think ill change it all to an in tank pump

So thats where im at

Cheers Gordon

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
