Recommended Posts

Beej Im pretty sure the daughter board is remapable as well pretty sure it's exactly the same not 100% or they use an emulator and nistune software.

And toshi sounds awesome budd am very interested car should be done in a few weeks minus my big turbo setup but gonna keep it like that for a little while so will let you kno when car is back from shop and everything done should be in 3 weeks or so.

Thanks mate

I'f I go with the nistune board does that make the ecu remapable ?

Or is the daughter board remapable also?

How much for the nistune and the tune?

Aghhhh mad cybz I can't get over how cheap this will work out :-) so yeah I'll start saving man and when ur ready let me know a d we can organise a third person and we will get tishi to do the remap :-)

R32 do not need daughter board.

I can real time tune and re tune with emulator but I think another shop can not re tune in QLD.

Because they do not have emulator and chip programmer.

Nistune and remap is exactly same performance.

If you want to re tune in QLD you need nistne board.

But I can come QLD anytime.

If you want to tune with nistune please send PM.

Toshi*

Damn I phone

beej we should both just do nistunes that way when we upgrade more and wanna get tuned by like EFI or something then we all good.

Yes,I can get nistune board and ecu tune.

Nistune board is remapable in QLD .

Cost $260.(just board)

But if you want to re-tune in future you are able to install nistune board to ecu later on.

How to tune on road

I will fit wideband air fuel ratio meter(same dyno machine O2 sensor), and lap top computer, Gizzmo KMon Knock Monitor & Analysisor, before we leave.

While the customer is driving,I will sit in the passenger with my laptop.

Start with 2nd gear, winding up from 2000rpm-5000rpm to check car condition and datalog.

I will make fuel and timing map then 2nd gear again to check air fuel ratio and engine knock.

After making rough map on 2nd gear, we will go to freeway .With 3rd/4th gear, we will be running on freeway from 2000rpm-3000rpm to check engine response and engine knock.

Then next 3000rpm-4000rpm ,this will be repeated in increments of 1000rpm.If we find flat spot , slow response , laggy, engine knock etc I will fix and tune on freeway.

After that is done, we will go to small mountain then check response and power feel.

Take around 4-6hours.

If customer would like to check power and power curve etc we will go to nearest dyno shop.If necessary I will adjust fuel and timing map ondyno. We will return via route with small mountains to further check response and power feel.(this is road and dyno tune)

1)R33 Road tune remap Price from $550 (not with NISTUNE board)

2) ROAD TUNE and DYNO TUNE labor Price from $600 plus dyno hire $80-90

When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
