Rebuilt Engines?

So im getting really pissed of with myself for some reason, There are multiple Skylines im looking a few with engine rebuilds some with factory engine Still in place.

Just wondering if i can get some experienced Answers on whats better, Ive heard once an engine has been opened problems start to occur more than a factory.

I really just dont want to spend 10-13k and get a lemon

I can't see why an engine would begin to run into issues more if it has been opened up. If the work is done properly there is nothing that should really go wrong. Obviously if the work is dodgy you'll run into issues, that's where word of mouth comes in. Use a workshop with a good reputation. If you're asking this question I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're not competent enough to rebuild it yourself, so don't risk it. If you want to learn there's no harm in hanging around and giving a hand while they do the work

I know it's a simpler engine, but I rebuild my dirt bikes all the time and because I know what I'm doing I don't have issues. There wouldn't be engine builders out there if engines were known for failing after being worked on.
