I was going to use a t51r Kai untill it was stolen in a ram raid, fortunatly they left behind a t88 33d ( this turbo made 900 hp in the heat treatments car) , I am just waiting for a nos kit to show up, I have been offered a twin kit which has been quoted as being the same as keirs( hence the interest) what does hpi#40 & gtr special#4 mean ?

Ive been in the motor industry for 27 years & can remember the first z at the Birmingham motor show, that same year I saw a yellow one in the states and thought wow ! well in those days they were beyond my pocket & as for skylines- you just did not see them in europe, then 3 & half years ago I came to nz & have owned & driven probaly 20 z's & well over 50 skylines THERE IS ABSOLUTLY NO COMPARISON !!!!!!!!!!!!! in my opinion (for what it's worth) the z has poor build quality, rides like crap, has far less tuning options, looked good in 1990 but those looks have just not 'held on' were as look at the bnr32 in comparison, wow that's what 'retro' is all about,it's timeless, look at the 33 coupe 'hard as f*ck, the 34 coupe is even harder,( the sedan is butt ugly),now take a good look at the 89 on z, ha ha ha ha ha, look at the trim they used on the non leather cars -yuk ! why was nobody racing a z around Bathhurst in the early ninty's- I wonder don't even think about buying a z over a skyline, you are comparing a fine wine with ditch water !

  16. the guy who is tuning my car has made a 'modest' 1200hp on a standard plenum ! the thing is I am adding 6 nos injectors & the walls of the standard plenum are not very thick,another reason is that I have spent in excess of 50k under the bonnet so why spoil the look of it for a mere 'hapeth of tar' ?

  19. yes FREE BEER I have just been done for over 3 grand by a acacia ridge tuning shop, I have been told not to use their name on here, which is fair enough, but please send me a pm & I will give you the name of these c*nts, in fact I think it is just one c*nt who rates himself as a bit of a fabricator/welder/developer, it is quite interesting that I posted a new thread about this an hour ago(on another car forum) & have already received two pm's from members who have been done by this outfit, one guy had even been threatened ! basically I was stupid enough to pay the money into their bank & expect a custom plenum, single throttle body, ect, to be sent to me in new Zealand, unfortunately three months later all I have had is lies!, a friend of mine called round there today & was told to F off, I am currently hoping to recruit some gang dudes to collect for me, I don't mind giving up 50% of the debt, I just do not want this twat to have my money ! any take'rs? ALTERNATIVLY if any forum member can collect this debt I will put the 50%(roughly 1600aus$) behind the bar of their choice & all forum members & skyline drivers will be welcome to come & have *FREE BEER* UNTILL THE MONEY RUNS OUT. please pm me- this is not a joke. does anyone have links to other car forums that I can post this on ?

INTERESTING THREAD GUY'S so if I use a t88 manifold (designed for a twin twin scroll turbo) as a donor to modify & mount a t51r (single entry) am I going to be robing myself of horse power ??????????? I would love a few opinions on this as a dedicated hks manifold for the t51 is over 4 grand ? & the budget is already ruined !

  22. http://www.driftcentral.com/content_turboi...hp?tinfo=ttable it's here, 820 hp I have just been told that the diamentions of the t88 34 D are very similar to the kai, so if the wheel sizes are the same as the 34 D & it only flows 800 as opposed to the t88 34s 850 ,it is not looking as good as the greedy ? or is this a compromise & it spools easier? http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...ght=turbo+specs so check this chart out, it gives the comparisons but I must admit I do not know what it will mean in real terms ? I see the comp ave on the 51 is higher ( whats comp ave ?) & all the sizes with the exception of the inducer major dia are bigger!(does this mean that it's got a bigger exhaust wheel) ? but on the other list It say's that the 51 flows 800 against 820 for the t8833d, what does comp ave mean ? what I am really trying to establish is which one, if any will be more road drivable ? is the first list accurate at 800 for the kai?

I have got a choice of using either of the turbos on a rb 30 all I can find out is that the hks will flow 800 & the greedy 820hp apart from this will there be any marked difference, ie being a later design will the t 51 be more effecient & hence spool up quicker giving boost earlier ?????????????? or is the greedy the 'one' to use, cams are 280& 290 with 11.2 lift, bottom end is a giken 3 litre kit help would be really appreciated, the only spec sheet I could find was this one, unfortunatly it tells you very little about the greedy. http://www.driftcentral.com/content_turboi...hp?tinfo=ttable
  24. 2500nz$ perfect condition spools up earlier than the more common 34d but still flows over 800hp, making for a mean street/drag turbo. john@cars7990.co.nz
