  1. hmm, it's interesting to see where this will all lead. As it has in here, this new anti hoon law has caused a bit of interest in PSB (thanks to Niz for informing us). The common factor that all have mentioned is the potential abuse from coppers who have a problem with which ever species of road user be it imports or bikes. The bill states something along the lines that the copper must have had a reasonable and objective view of the incident and can enforce the applicable clauses (including impounding) even if it is found later to be unsubstantiated. This effectively gives them carte blanche on applying these laws. The argument for this would be that this is denial of natural justice, it removes our ability to defend ourselves before being found guilty. We are presumed guilty until proved innocent. Plenty have said (here and PSB) that this law is black and white. Fortunately it's not as clear cut as that. There are plenty of grey areas within it. BUT....... the way it is written, these grey areas can't be pointed out until you're in court. A lawyer, or anyone with half a brain, can defend these areas quite easily. Admittedly i agree with many that there will be a lot more high speed encounters, police abusing their authority, and generally a lot more ill will between police and road users. Anyhow, before i go on for a couple of pages regarding this abuse of authority and utter bs that our inept minister is trying to impose, i'll leave it at that. my 2c
  2. Now that would make for an interesting story Can't fit many drugs into a bike boot though
  3. LOL Niz, Aren't i part of the cool crowd at work? Still testing my bike so i might swing by that way for somewhere to go
  4. Buuugggerrrrr Sorry to hear Niz, glad you're okay apart from the aches and pains. As with everyone else that has posted I hope all works out well with car etc. This what i get for not being in the office for the last couple of days, I had no idea that this had happened. Once again, hope you're over the aches soon and I'll hopefully see you on Monday
  5. To all you have put their thoughts and opinions here (sexzila ), thankyou. It's interestiing to see how other people feel about this. I agree, that in general a group will have it's select few who do what they do. As point of note however in respect to the riders here in question, they all extremely experienced riders and also have racing experience. Sexzila, I'm sure myself and others aren't trying to say that bikes and skylines are one and the same but it's more the issue of generalisations made by the media and general public which reflect upon everybody and not just those involved. After all, a story without sensationalism isn't a story Oh, for those that are interested, the African Violets are doing well in these extreme conditions
  6. You got it "Joe". i got most of the vids downloaded that they're goin to use. I'm sure that there will be numerous numbers taping on Monday, after all, gotta have somehting to laugh at
  7. that's probably in the lines PVA
  8. lol TJ. too true, too true. I hate mofo journalists
  9. it does go to show though that TT is real short on decent stories. Naturally the footage they show will be very selective as most of the stuff was done on dead end back roads. It will be interesting viewing that's for sure, what they won't say is that most of theses guys are race riders, the group organises track days and workshops to improve skills.
  10. As far as i'm aware Summoner they are definitly looking at wot action they can take, however with site being publicly accessible the copyright infringement laws get a bit blurred. There is also the question of other stuff as well such as defamation.
  11. I know this a Skyline/cage sight but...... (Joe, you'd be aware of this off the PSB site) This Monday (24-05-04) Today Tonight are running a story on motorbike 'hoons'. They downloaded footage off the Perth Extreme site and intend to air it with 'expert' opinion being given by some wankers. Quotes include "They are loaded weapons ready to go off" "menaces to society" etc. You get the idea anyway. As much as this won't interest you guys in the point of it's about motorbikes, the ramifications of this could be far reaching. SAUWA is a close group with high powered vehicles that enjoying pushing their cars to the limits, you know, driftin and stuff. Who knows, the next story could be on SAUWA, probably unlikely but hey, it's a possibilty and this probably a bit of a warning that the sensationalising journos really don't care about the positives of group events but only focus on negatives. Anyhows that's my 2 cents worth. Have fun all
