Actually if you arent going to thrash it why buy it?
-
It will break and cost heaps of money.
Dont buy it if you are after reliable miles mate.

I imagine he is working for NASA or nascar by now

You take it to a crash shop and pay the money.....

The whole " tow anything with anything" approach only works for so long. If something goes wrong it is bad all round. You really need the whole setup to be properly rated or you are risking a lot.

I would also be careful putting compressed air to the actuator, at a guess that was fairly high pressure. Was it regulated to around 10 psi?

That's normal

I find it incredible your mate who doesn't know shit from anything would just have a crack adjusting random things. Driving with no MAP line connected on an ecu that uses MAP as load source is insane.
I would slap him.

I'd have to be driving underneath one of the UFOs from Close Encounters of the Third Kind for that sort of inductive interference!
Were you? Typically these threads end up in a wild goose chase then information like that comes out at the end that explains it all.

Dampener is after the fuel pressure regulator on the rb26, removing the vac line changes the idling by like 0.05 bar or something like that
If it satisfies you I also ran the car with the hose right off the fuel pressure regulator as stated and nothing changed
The dampener would do nothing if after the regulator. What would it dampen?
Taking the vac line off the reg at idle MUST show an increase in pressure. That's how referenced regulators work mate. If it's not doing that it isn't working.
Or you have the vac source plumbed wrong. Can you feel a suction on the vac line when disconnected at idle?

Expansion tank empty is concerning, and to me pretty much a deal breaker unless you can see where it is leaking and its an easy fix.

But they said it has always been serviced while they have owned it
How long have they owned it?
It's an 18 yr old car with questionable history that's not cheap. Hope that puts it in perspective.

Series 1 Stagea with a rb25det S2, or a s1.5 not sure, its a 1997 model and know ther was some stuff around there, do not have ign moduel on the coils.
have been chasing gremlins for about 2 years, at some point you have to try wird shit, a friend told me it could work, not that it would work, and should be abel to manualy change, i dont know before i have tryed, but if you say it wont work, sure
How are you checking/ setting ignition timing? There are a few ways to get it wrong that I can think of .
-
Also if another ecu had the same issue that says the ecu is fine.
The suggestion to use a manual ecu and shift yourself is laughable. It won't work. It will stay in 3rd gear.

Perhaps you are setting/ checking the timing wrong.
Perhaps the cam timing is wrong.
How have you determined the ecu is the problem?
-
Are you trying to manifest an exhaust?

Put it there. It will make zero difference if a little bit closer, not worth thinking about.

t. If you want to get fancy with it you can use 3D scanning and do some CFD to estimate where the right places are for intake and exhaust.

That's what I was thinking, my curiosity made me ask because I was like if that's the normal fuel map it has to be some weird scaling or something.
Your thread is basically asking about trim maps then you are surprised when you see one!

Clicking wheels.
Purchased my 370 a couple months back front right wheel was clicking like a b**ch under load ie left hand corners. Thought it was a bearing problem turned out to be minute amounts of movement between wheel and hub. Solution - wire brush clean both surfaces and reassemble with a small amount of grease. Problem solvered.
*Note to other newbies like me. Always use correct wheel nut socket (6 sided) as opposed to 12 point deep socket. Wheel nut is actually two piece with a chrome plated brass sheath which will spin on the nut if incorrect socket used. Absolute nightmare to remedy involving much tapping, flattening, coaxing hammering and swearing.
Can you elaborate on that? Any photos?
Stock wheels or others? It makes no sense.
