Greetings, I know there are quite a few people out there who have built their version of an RB30DET and im interested to know what parts you ended up using and what work you all had done to the enigne. The reason i was tring to avoid the whole stagea deal was because of the lack of them. Well from what i could tell anyway. And the ones that i did see where a few k over the price of other RB25's. It was purely a cost thing.

Basically is there ANYONE!?! who has taken the R33 GTS4 RB25DE block and rebuilt it as a turbo version and mounted it with the original RB20DET sump in a R32 GTS4? I know about the whole stagea deal but im interested if the R33 block would be appropriate to use considering a full rebuild is in order. Read one post that said the R33 block from the GTS4 will mate up with the R32 GTS4 sump, but im after other opinions. Anyone? Thanks for your time, Scribble

Ive heard of people using the stagea RB25DET in the GTS4. But what about taking the RB25DE out of the R33 and rebuilding it into a turbo version? Are the blocks the same strength? Has it been done before?

I have heard of an adapter plate to bolt up the rb26 plenum to the 25 head. SO might not be that bad.

Cubes: That was my next question. We definatly need some photos of the patterns here. Has anyone seen the RIPS adapter plate? And did he use a custom plenum on the 25 head does anyone know? Really i would love to start work on an RB30DET but have to clear up the issues with the sump mounting and possible clearance issues the adapter plate could cause with the sump fouling on something. It's for an R32 GTS4 btw.

Quite possibly a stupid question: But can you just drill and tap a 4WD pattern into the block?

Id also be interested in a price for the sump adapter to make an rb20 4wd sump bolt upto the rb30 block. Or even the rb25de sump out of the r33 gts-4 as you could kill two birds with one stone and get a 25 head
