  1. Ive driven my car to perth and back to Broome. 2200km inland road approx. Definately bring the octane boost, 2 or 3 bottles will do. Most places have premium 95 octane, with a couple 98. I only fuelled up at 4 places on a 1 way trip and that was with 1 jerrycan. From broome 2 years ago, cost me about $380 in fuel and octane boost.

Sandfire, headland, newman, wubin. and then the jerrycan. Im pretty sure thats how it went. Roughly 450kms to a tank, and thats off bp 95 octane with octane boost.

Stick to 100-110km/h as anything over your doing 3000rpm or more (in a SII R33 Sedan 5 Speed anyway).

Do all the oil, water, tyre pressure checks before you leave, and check tyre press at each fuel stop (i did, i got a techhhhhh screw through a tyre at poxy sandfire roadhouse, 300km from anywhere).

good luck and dont stress too much. The RBs handle that trip with ease.

  2. I bought mine here http://www.autoworx.com.au (check for pricing on sedans), not sure what you mean what to look for. I picked my SII specifically because it was manual, 99% of sedans SI or SII are auto in my own experience.

It had no rear spoiler, no rear wiper, no extra bodykit pieces ie skirts, rear pods (possibly less of a weight difference to the coupe with these bits missing). Other cars probably had more/better options than this, but im guessing they are probably the same as the coupe. Has more room in the boot than the coupe, as the battery is located in the engine bay (more room for audio gear mwahahaha).

The rest is the same as far as i can tell. Its a bit more difficult to find bodykit pieces, especially for a SII, but most front bars that fit a coupe will fit a sedan.

Apart from that, i would say all the regular stuff about buying a car, and the info the faq would suffice.

  3. Ive got a turbosmart E-Boost 2, heaps of set up options, you can map boost VS RPM (needs to be connected to RPM signal), hold waste gate closed to aid spool up, can be set up to use dual solenoids for twin turbo setups. Can be set for overboost. Audible and Visual alarms. External Triggers. Display 3 diff types of pressure PSI/KPa/BAR. Mounts in a guage cup. Very versatile unit many options.

I have the 60mm sleeper edition, mounted where my cigarette lighter used to be. Need access to a dyno to setup properly though. $619 (i think) with freight to WA from CRD.

  4. Is it just me or are some interior parts of the patrols eerily similar to skylines. Had a quick look in a mates 05 Patrol, and im fairly sure the interior door handles, window controls and steering wheel are almost exactly the same as my R33 SII Sedan. Would be cool if they were.

Can anyone check FAST or something to confirm, or do they just look the same and are not actually interchangeable.

  5. Strangely ive got the same prob. The lovely chirping from the clutch when in neutral and as soon as you even slightly load up the clutch it goes away. I also had the thrust bearing replaced as it was provided with the new clutch/pressure plate. Anything under 2k revs in 3rd gear provides the vibration, but not sure if thats just the engine having to much load on it, or the diff as i have a standard diff which clunks at low speed and can make the car 'hop' if the weight shifts front to rear. Im thinking for me either diff rebuild/new 1.5way or new clutch nismo/excedy. Either way my final 250rwkw power goal will be better served with these other mods i guess.

  6. I realise that boost is only relative to each specific turbo. Which is why i ask if a gcg highflow moves more air at stock wastegate pressure than the standard turbo at 10psi.

Which also leads to the question, what boost is the wastegate spring set to on A- a r34 turbo, and B- a r34 gcg highflow turbo (sydneykid some help maybe :D )

  7. Ive got a highflow, sitting there waiting to go on (found a R34 gcg highflow at a price i couldnt pass up).

    Turbosmart eboost 2

I ran my standard turbo at 10psi for only short periods. Would the highflow move more air at stock boost than the standard at 10psi?

Im thinking if i run it at standard boost, and set the wastgate pressure to open up at low boost (eboost 2 gate pressure function), will this be ok to cruise around with for a while. Then i can sell my stocko turbo and get FMIC or more likely a PFC while they are still around. Also on the cards is fuel pump and injectors when the $$$s allow.

    cheers

  8. Anyway

Rang these guys up yesterday. They seem very nice, gave me a better quote on freight and on the front bumper than the WA supplier. From what the WA distributor told me, they are quality kits (but then i guess he should say that).

Got a lot of good info and feedback from the salesperson.

    cheers
