Don't blame the Government FFS, all I hear is "F**k the RTA bro" and "It's the governments fault" - it doesn't work like that. The RTA every year spends COPIOUS amounts of money on trying to reach all drivers to prevent crashes. Speed camera's are there to pay off the advertisements they have to broadcast to tell people to SLOW DOWN. But still, idiots in all sorts of cars choose to ignore it, but its usually high-performance ones that have worse crashes as they are able to reach higher speeds much easilier as we all know. BLAME the media, Eg. Daily Telegraph - The biggest sh*tstirrers in NSW. They make up rumours and bend the truth to get everyone angry. The media are the biggest sh*tstirrers, If you want to listen to actual (barely opinionative news) try the ABC. At the same time I'm sick to death hearing about crashes. Deadsh*ts who drive out of their limits on PUBLIC roads (ie, a ROAD... NOT a RACETRACK) deserve to kill themself because they couldn't have any less common sense. Me being a P plater with a car that attracts attention, the last thing I want in my busy life is for people to be blaming me because I'm a P-Plater. Its like they are fortune tellers predicting I'm automatically going to wrap myself around a pole. I don't drive out of my limits. Don't Flame me, I pay my respects to the families of the victims from these type of crashes I think its depressing indeed as I hope you all think the same. People, speeding isn't worth it on public roads especially when you're driving out of your limits.

I don't know why people would bother with a different colour for lights on a car, Its a waste of money, attracts unwanted attention and is classed as 'rice'

indicators have to be orange (in NSW i think anyway) , its illegal to have other

OK so who is the one who lost 2 a sportivo!!!
leb replied to MegaGTS4's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Either the sportivo guy is talking crap or the skyline driver can't drive if his life depended on it. -
One bad apple screws it up for the rest of us. Our Government has a very busy economy to run therefore they work off stereotypes of young drivers to save them having to solve things in a complex manner. I am 18 years of age and have recently purchased a turbocharged nissan. I originally had been driving a hyundai lantra and had come so close to crashing (due to mechanical failure, not speeding or any other driving offence) My brakes would lock up (yes even braking VERY softly in wet weather). I thrashed it I'll admit but the thing is it was so slow it didn't make a difference and I never drove out of my limits, [i could avoid accidents if something was to suddenly occur] I wanted to get the hoon vibe out of me so when I purchased a nicer car like I have now, i would take better care of it and drive sensibly as I do now. Now I am driving much safer due to now having ABS brakes and better suspension. Turbos only work when you put the foot down, it doesn't just suddenly kick in when driving normally. I don't thrash the car, its pointless. Its the driver, I drive my new car safely because there is enough idiots on the road (most of them not being on P plates, but unrestricted licenses. ) I love my car I don't want to have problems Isn't it interesting how

Hey all, I searched and there wasn't really anything that suits what I'm going to ask. Is it possible on a stock turbo that has bush bearings to be able to convert this to ball bearings without replacing the whole turbo (ie having the stock turbo using ball bearings instead of bush)? Is it a common thing to do or is it mechanically impossible, and or dodgy? Sorry I'm not too much of a guru on turbos all i know is boost = power . Thanks a heap in advance
-
alex, but the thing is i thought it slowed the turbo's rpm down even more from idle causing the turbo to cool down even more otherwise you could put a turbo timer on any car (its probably already possible)
-
why not you buy a magazine like High performance imports as they're full of ads relating to what you're after. Its going to take time and effort to find parts. Let alone wreckers
-
so turbo timers don't do anything fancy like adjust the rpm of the turbo?
-
Would you recommend a turbo timer for any turbo'd car, even if its stock? Does it really preserve the turbo that much? But yeah as was said, you have to be in your car or close to it, in other words not un-attended

Hey all, I tried searching for a similar thread but couldnt find one. Where do you all get you're servicing done at, and how much does it cost you just for a checkup (grease and oil)? Is it worth going to nissan's mechanic workshops?

Good Advice? or just nagging idiots?

My mum is so opposed against turbo cars, but shes after an m3 - ??? -

anything you buy someone else will be opposed because everyone has different tastes. It's just life, but what ever makes you happy is the right choice for you and you should not worry what everyone else thinks of it, as long as it satisfies you -
Interesting story mechanic told me...

Don't know all the details but mechanics sometimes can be a rought. Our '97 VW polo has had $5000 worth of servicing in the last 6 months and its still a lemon, its my mum who drives it and she's sensible so just keep your eyes out. -
Yeah I saw some ferrari 3xx something rather (stickers everywhere), I honked at the guy, he waved. On a sad note, thats horrible with the driver of the silver Porsche, my condolences go out to his family, poor things.

Yeah the RS-01 weighs below 1 tonne (more specifically around 600 - 700kg) the power to weight and balancing of the vehicle is amazing

Driving Offences - What have you been done for???

Speeding's stupid -
Depends how you're going to drive. If you are going to drift (hopefully off the streets) then go the gts-t as they go sideways easily If you're after something thats going to have more solid steering go the gts-4. The rb20 is phenominally powerful, and the performance between it and a gts-t (r33) is minimal. As goon said, if you just "chuck" on a turbo on the r33 gts-4 its going to cost you alot (along with what he said). The clutch will go straightaway and the computer management system will need to be re-configured in order for the turbo to work efficiently. Thats a bit ambiguous, how many K's has it done? are there any modifications [perhaps to the boost, etc etc?] Look at the car in person, its much safer mate. Hope you make a choice you're happy with

I'm not even going to bother seeing the 3rd one. $100 says that there will be at least 1 riced FWD car. I'd rather keep that $11.50 and spend it on something better
-
I think the engines would be louder if they became a 2.4L V8 because the power limits would probably be the same, leading to there having to be a higher redline from a smaller engine.
-
400Nm of torque is a heap, especially that f1 cars weigh bugger all
-
Yeah insurance would be even worse on it though and 20 is more my max but im looking at 25's to try and negotiate down to a more reasonable price Btw, just out of curiousity, how would my premium be looking (comprehensive) with an s14 I'm 18.5 and have had no accidents or driving offences.
-
Who cares man, its a car? There's always going to be a faster car so theres no point racing on the street. How much money will you have left over? A bleed valve is a safe option in terms of boost control. (nothing above 15psi stockinternals)

hire a limo mate, you guys will have heaps of room too! :bananaman
