Is Bov Vent Better Than Plumback?post Views-poll-

Exactly. Police are dumb as hell when it comes to imports. You very rarely find one that knows what they are talking about. No BOV sighted = No defect. Thanks, Abu -

Or if your smart you just block the BOV off as well as the VAC line so you dont have to take it off And how do you get done for an ATMO BOV when you dont have one? lol Thanks, Abu -

Not a bad price. These are becoming harder and harder to find. They are a very powerful little unit for the price. Free bump, good luck with the sale. Thanks, Abu

Here is a picture. I have had 3 people in it and its been fine. Although if you full lock it coming off a steep incline, there might be a chance the front tires might touch in the guard. Running TEIN coilover's. Thanks, Abu

I have 8" wide I think, maybe 8.5" front and back and my car is heaps low, rubber in the arch front and back! 17".. I havent had any issues with them rubbing in the guards, and mine are not rolled. If you want to have a look at how low it is, do a search on my usename, there is heaps of pictures in one of my threads. I have the damper set to pretty firm, and the front damper is set to the hardest it would go, so it doesnt hit ont he inner plastic guard lining. Thanks, Abu

Appropriate Turbo For Rb20 (external Gate)
abu replied to evsr31's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I also dont see the need to go external gate. What are you going to be using the car for? You can make just as much power with internal gate, and run high boost too, if thats what your concern is. If your chasing response and something easy to fit and stay low mount, I'd also have to say go with a RB25 high flow. This will also be cheaper and less attention with cops, but wont sound half as good an an externally gated turbo with a screamer!! Must say though, Roys car sounds mint with the TD06-20G turbo setup! It seems to be pretty responsive too, as he uses it for track use mostly. Thanks, Abu -
That is freaking awesome man. How much boost to make 250rwkw? Free bump! Good luck with the sale. Thanks, Abu

I got one as well, but at work at the moment. Can post it up tonight. Thanks, Abu

$20 posted anywhere in Australia? Thanks, Abu

There is plenty of people running more boost than that on a standard RB20/RB25 turbo's. Its more the luck of the draw with standard turbo's, depending on how well they have been looked after in the past. Plenty of people running about 14psi on a standard RB25 turbo and making good power on RB20s. Check the turbo before you put it in, make sure you try and get one with minimal play, and put good oil in your motor and service it regularly. It should last and do what you want it to. Thanks, Abu

Get a FMIC setup, which is about $345 from JUST JAP, plus delivery. Factory BOV is fine for what ever boost you want to run on the street. People are running up to 19psi on standard BOV. I'd say no more than about 13 - 14psi on standard turbo. That should be enough to have some fun, and reliably. Dont forget to get a turbo back 3" exhaust as well, that will help with power/flow/response. A GTR pump wouldnt be a bad investment either, I paid $60 for mine delivered, and it was in perfect working order. Thanks, Abu

Whats wrong with your stock BOV? I would personally just use the stock one. If you just want a BOV that works, and does what it is supposed to, just use the stock one. its got all the stock plumbing in the intake pipe, and its all plumbed back for you. Cost effective, cant get defected, and it works. What more could you want? I've seen people running 18psi+ on a standard R32 BOV without it leaking, I can only presume an R33 one would be better due to its age, and new design.. I doubt your running more than that sort of boost? Thanks, Abu -
Hahah nice one. Well I made it easy for you! Follow the instructions from the link above if you haven't done it before Thanks, Abu

V500s would be heaps expensive, I am sure a 2nd hand PFC wont cost you that much! I have seen a few on the forums for about $1,200 I think, way cheaper than a RB20 one.. If you want plug and play, and something that looks standard go with a LINK. LINK is plug and play, and they just send you the ECU board, no casing. What you do is pull out the standard R33 ECU board and put the LINK board into your standard R33 ECU casing so it look standard! No one will know your running after market stand alone ECU, unless the piggy that pulls you over notices you have no AFM! Which I don't think there smart enough to do.. No AFM because link runs MAP LINK is about $1200 I think!? direct from LINK website.. cbf checking, but go there and have a look. Thats brand new and delivered, and plug and play. Cheaper than WOLF, MICROTECH and a 2nd hand PFC My 2.5c Thanks, Abu

Because I am nice, here is a link to a guide to installing a RB25 turbo into your R32 RB20DET. Pretty straight forward, and also outlines all the tools needed to complete the swap http://www.project32.net/tutorials.php Enjoy! Abu

Hey Just a quick reply from me. Will straight bolt on to manifold and dump pipe. They are of similar size to the RB20 turbo so will fit in. Just make sure if you get the RB25 turbo you get the elbow off the outlet side of the turbo, as they are different to the RB20 one. I recommend you use your RB20 turbo actuator as it holds 10psi and the RB25 actuators only hold 7psi? This will make it easier for you to hold higher boost in the future, without creeps and spikes (not guaranteed of course, but proven to hold boost better). Oil and water lines will fit up as standard. Expected power varies depending on supporting modifications. Quick list of what you will need to achieve 175 - 185rwkw on standard RB20 internals; -Fuel pump (WALBRO, Bosch 040, GTR) -Front mount intercooler kit -3" Turbo back exhaust -RB25 turbo -SAFCII + tune About 14psi of boost would be the most I would run on a RB25 turbo, maybe 15psi if you want to push it.. but no more. After all it is a standard ceramic turbo. That should easy get you between 175 -185rwkw, and safely. If you took notice I wrote SAFC II up there instead of a REMAP. Reason for that being, weather you agree or not, doesn't bother me! 1/ SAFC II can be switched off and you can run a standard fuel pump 2/ Live readings 3/ Cheaper 4/ Holds 2 fuel maps No need to go REMAP, unless you want to upgrade to Z32 & after market injectors, so in that case an SAFC II cannot run after market injectors or a Z32. You will need to go to a stand alone or a REMAP for that.. but for 13psi boost you don't need a Z32 or bigger injectors so no point wasting money on a REMAP for now.. maybe later down the track if you want to go bigger turbo, injectors, z32 then go with a REMAP. Some say the RB25 NEO turbos are slightly larger than the normal R33 RB25 turbo, but I cant comment as I am not 100% sure. Maybe someone else has more information? Hope some of that helps. If you do a search you will definitely find more information, or even take a look through the RB20DET Turbo upgrade thread in the Forced induction section. Will give you a good indication of expected power. Thanks Abu
