only if they are the right offset.
You can get 18x9's under a silvia but they have got to be correct offset.
There are some 17x8's around that won't go under and only just get under a GTR

Liz , you have had views from at least 5 people on this with some advice on what to do.
The ball is in your court with the next step.
What's he gonna do, get on a plane ?
As I said , if you feel bad , pay the return freight.

Could be something as simple as a low tyre pressure which is amplified when you brake.
Or could be a chassis that is shorter on one side than the other....
Get a professional to check it. The causes are endless and without physically driving it , everyone is only guessing.

Have Wanners on the 9th August then Meelup near dunsborough.
The next state m/khana is on June 29th but you will need to join a car club and get a CAMS lic

Liz , don't get so paranoid.
If it really worries you that much , tell him that there has been a misunderstanding and you will send him $40 which should cover most of the freight cost.
All it has cost him is some time and a bit of inconvenience.
Personally I would tell him to check his info more thoroughly before making statements like he has to you and use it as a lesson to not lie to people.
Would he have paid you back when you found they didn't fit ??
Not likely!!
