  1. I envy you. It's a beautiful car. Congrats and merry Xmas
  2. It's guilty until proven innocent... always has been. Not just this though, it costs money, time and a good lawyer to even be considered innocent And anyone how is over the age of 36 Australia wide is partially to blame. This is because the Hawk Government held a referendum, part of which was for a bill of rights to be added to our constituion. It was rejected with a national 'yes' vote of just 32%, with Victoria's 'yes' vote being the highest at 50%. If we had constitutional rights we may have powers to do something.
  3. My place is great! I'm ten minutes from civilization and have had one trespasser on our property... ever... in over 60,000 years of humans in oz, only one unwanted person has been on our property... and there wasn't anything valuable taken Feel free to park your cars at my place... although for most of you it will be at least 3 hours out of the way... each way. Factually though... Greensborough, Richmond and then Broadmeadows are the three worst vic suburbs for car theft in general
  4. D) Pull over and let them go past
  5. Yeah... but how are they going to know that?
  6. The vics have been stuck with this s*** for decades. But they can't enforce it... esp with modified cars and grey imports because they are pretty much clueless. Anyways... 26 is ridiculous, 21 seems a pretty common standard
  7. Hey... Look at the bright side; Your not at fault!
  8. Local turbo is nothing new... the VL? (Altough it was an RB  ) The worst thing about it is the ignorant reports that it should be banned because "...it can do 100km/h in 2nd gear!" Beautiful car though.... but I would still prefer BFYB
  9. What are the differences between an R32 GTS and GTSt... other than the engine ie ECU, Suspension etc
  10. I believe it is pronounced 'Stay-Jah'- Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds right, and I have hears others say it like this aswell
  11. You will need to get an engineers certificate for 18"s. But when you have them done, can we see?
  12. Yeah .... sorry I didn't read the bit about PM'ing you... my bad :slap: I am after a Black or Stone Cap... (But I'll have any colour) How do you want payment and or how long it will take? Thanks heaps... Mick
  13. Ha!!! The Holden engines are based on a 1956 Buick design... so it must be something special when they bring something new out!
  14. VicRoads have a list The list originally just contained all porches, the Rex, and Celica GT4... but the list has bee nupdated and now includes a couple of hundred cars... I have it somewhere, although I am not sure if it contains imports
  15. The V8s in the ford and the holden are 5 litres, and I think it is because they track was changed slightly, but other than that yeah... GTahhhhh
  16. Whoa! that sure was quick... looks like my work is done :freak: Now... I have some partitions to sign... work to dooo
  17. Who would like to start the Concil against the Pedestrain Council of Australia? Primary objectives would be to argue against every single thing they stand for; ruining our driving experiences. If you are unsure as to what they are doing, have a look at the new car advertising standards, or this mornings 'story' on the 'Supercar' Falcon that can do 100km/h in 2nd. A '71 Valiant will do plenty more than 100km/h in 2nd, and that was 34 years ago... whats the big deal? There is talk of bringing back the laws that killed the GTHOs, the Toranas, the Monaros, etc. Harold Scruby is responsible, and is lobbying the government (Who i remind have the first Senate majority since the '70s, when the ^^^ Above law was made) to have speed limiters on all cars to 130km/h Well thats my rant for the day... have fun!
  18. Valid point... But i have several friends who have had close calls because they were watching their speedo, and people who are booked for being 4km/h over while in relatively difficult or unkown areas. The money is not being put towards anything useful- this is my main complaint. But I am not a P Plater, and I live in melbourne most of the time, and pass through Heathcote regularly. I also am very unfortunate not to own a 'line, as I am only 17, but I am very interested, and as a driver on victorian roads, I understand that the powers that be have an unbelievably unlawful amount of power, and it is not overly constructive.
  19. In the 2nd one, if you go to the car chase scene at the end, where the cops are chasing them, just before the helicopter shoots the thing at them, there is a guy who is a look a like Vin Deisel.... interesting (Cough, Cough) But anyways, a 240Z, some oldschool cars like a 2000GT and a KPGC110 GTR would be nuts
  20. They actual law is 1" width/Diameter or the wheels can be switched for another in the model's series. EG. A VZ Commonwhore Executive with 15" Wheels can have the SS's 18" wheels, with out the need for an engineering certificate (Although it can not have the HSV GTS's 19" wheels, as the Z Series HSV's are classified as a different model) So with an R32, you could only change upto 17", but with a 33/34, you can go larger
  21. I believe we deserve it... at a projected $489 Million dollars in "Revenue" (Or Loot more like it), from fixed position speed cameras alone, the lousy government, (that should have never been in power in the first place) owes us. This is on top of the massive money made from rego, rates, parking fines, and various other theivings. The obvious response is that we already have blah blah blah, and/ or the money would have to come out of Health or Education (OR the 98% of the budget that lines their pockets). If legal and assecible drag tracks were available, street racing should go down, and conversely the amount of people being hospitalized for car accidents. Accessibility is also a problem, as I live in North/ North Eastern Vic, and Heatcote is on the way to melbourne... 2 hours away... on a good run. @ $1.13 per litre and 12-16 litres per 100 kms, it is not a cheap excercise. They owe us
  22. Demand for *Cheap* Skylines, Silvias, zx's, etc increases dramatically becuase of the import rule. Basic laws of demand and supply says that an increase in demand will precursor an increase in price (And often supply)... Only problem now is that the gumminint is considering removing the rule, or changing the time frame, so that it is not 15 years, rather it is anything before 1989.
  23. REALLY?!?!? That would be nuts! But what sort of price are we talking?
  24. A couple of quick tips: You only have three strikes... don't use them. Defineitely do not dry steer when doing the three point turn... each one is a strike... 3 and your out... Manners and being polite, to the instructor and fellow drivers will get you far... Have fun!
