  1. so would i need the Nistune thingy, and then something like this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Po...ad-t210097.html ??? or what's the difference?
  2. thanks guys nearest shop per Nistune website is about 30km's away, but am going to call a few around my area thanks
  3. expressing interest, but have some questions: 1) if my Stag is completely stock, with no immediate plans for mods, is this still worth it? 2) how long would this take? 3) does this mean i need to unplug my ECU and then refit? (not sure how to do this, lol) 4) so if i got this done, would i go straight to a dyno for a tune, regardless of the fact the engine is stock? sorry for my newbness will be an S2 RS Four S cheers
  4. apparently car hits the docks on 7 October (next Wed) so should be at Nagoya within a week of that getting excited!
  5. thanks mate did you use Statewide cos they're local to you, or cos they have a good rep? how much did it set you back? worth it? do you think your 51,xxx kms were genuine? which Stag did you end up with? cheers
  6. i'm in the Sutherland Shire Nagoya is at Taren Point (about 5-10 mins from Cronulla) would be a weekend, as i work Mon-Fri (but they're open 7 days) i'm still a bit undecided on the car tbh, having not had a chance to drive a manual one, but drove the auto. the auto i found was not too bad, so hoping the manual is a fair whack better they took the car off the website after i put a deposit on it, but essentially it's the same as this: http://www.nagoyamotors.com.au/zoom.php?id=849 cheers
  7. thanks Appealing, great post my deposit is apparently FULLY refundable if i change my mind (it even says so on their website), but even if it wasn't, i didn't put thousands down is it worth the risk with the xenon headlights? how much would it cost to replace them? i'll pretty much be running stock everything for the moment, as this is the family car for the incoming baby, and the wife will be driving it most of the time. as such, will probably switch it up between 91-95-98. in a couple of years, hoping to put some work into it what are the common niggles you guys have experienced on your C34's? thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it
  8. hi all long time lurker, rare poster (but that's certainly changing) i've recently put down a (fully refundable) deposit on a 1999 C34 S2 Stagea RS Four S. bit more info here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pu...ag-t289922.html it's black, awd and manual i was hoping that someone with experience with an RB25 DET Neo might be able to help come and check it out with me in a few weeks (experience with C34 Stagea's is a bonus!) it's currently on a boat, due to arrive in about 2-3 weeks it's being shipped to Nagoya Motors (who seem to get mixed reviews here) happy to pay petrol costs and a 6 pack of beer for your trouble? will be looking to you guys as well for hints and tips, as this will be my first import (know a bit about them, subscribed to Zoom and HPI for years) thanks in advance guys cheers
  9. thanks all how would i go about making sure the xenon's don't get hacked up? also, should Nagoya be able to provide me with the auction reports?
  10. hi all been lurking and asking a few questions of late anyway, yesterday i put a deposit on a 1999 RS Four S pretty much the same as this one http://www.nagoyamotors.com.au/zoom.php?id=849 except that is a 1998 model, mine is a 1999 it's from Nagoya, so price is $15,400 ready to go, with apparently a "free" 3 point immobiliser, 1 year rego, 1 year road-side assist and 5 year warranty. Nagoya looks to be ok from here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Na...rs-t205213.html and http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Go...uy-t225069.html i have driven a couple of M35's, and to be honest they were a nice smooth drive and with the leather were a pretty sweet luxury cruiser, but i really really wanted a manual and one came up (albeit in a C34) anyway, i am new to owning an import (have a fair idea about them having subscribed to Zoom and HPI for a number of years), however i have a few questions which i hope someone can help with: 1) the car lands in about 3 weeks. anyone that has a pretty good knowledge of C34's want to come down to Caringbah/Taren Point and help me give it a once over? i've read this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bu...n-C-t92065.html but would love an experienced set of eyes to look over it if possible. happy to pay you petrol money and maybe a 6 pack of beer for the trouble my deposit is fully refundable if i am not happy with the car for any reason 2) has anyone had any recent dealings with Nagoya? they seem to be OK from what i've read on here and on the net. anyone had to claim on their 1 year road-side assist, or 5 year parts and labour warranty? 3) what's actually involved in the compliance process? from what i gather from here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...nce-t41327.html and various other sources, during compliance the shop will: - change all fluids - install child safety points - check seat belts - change tyres - install rear brake light (if needed) what else is done? do they throw cheap and nasty tyres on there? even after compliance, should i be taking it straight to a mechanic for a service/tune? or will the compliance/rego process iron out most of the bugs? 4) what sort of fuel have you guys been running in your Stagea? - E10 91 - 91 - 95 - 98 5) what are some good mechanics in the Sutherland Shire area? do just jap do servicing? what are the service intervals on an RB25DET Neo? i think that's all the questions i have for the moment, i'm sure there'll be plenty more in the next few weeks thanks in advance guys EDIT: 6) Nagoya claims only 52,xxx km's. now i know this is dodgy for a 10 year old car, but i hear pretty much every import has had clock wound back? should i be worried at all? do you normally get japanese log books with them?
  11. might have to give just car a call tomorrow cheers
  12. bloody Sydney insurance pricing! quote from Shannons was $1864 for a 1999 C34 RS Four S (RB25DET Neo, manual), worth $17k youngest driver 28yo female, me 28yo male 1 at fault accident each in the last 5 years (both backed into objects, very minor damage only) CLEAN driving records for last 5 years (no speeding tickets, traffic violations, parking tickets etc.) putting me off getting a Stag
  13. hi all where do you guys in Sydney get your M35's serviced? and roughly how much for regular servicing, and also major ones? i'm in the Sutherland Shire area, so hopefully there's some good places round there. do Just Jap do servicing? thanks
  14. thanks pixel8r, pretty much answered my questions
  15. so i drove an M35 AR-X on the weekend pretty smooth ride, nice big boot also had a look at (didn't get to drive) a 260RS but also just a WC34 RS Four (we did also look at a Mitsubishi Legnum and Toyota Caldina, but the boot space was limited compared to a Stagea) having sat in the 260RS, i think the wife would prefer the newer M35, but there was a blue WC34 that caught her eye a little so now it looks like the short list is M35 AR-X vs. WC34 RS Four. will need to do some more driving. what's fuel consumption like on the VQ25 DET vs. RB25 DET Neo? cheers
  16. saw that in the for sale section looks nice and clean, with a nice price too! bit far though
  17. i guess i must be lucky, cos my missus can actually drive (a manual) pretty well, so have no qualms with that anyway keep the opinions coming guys went down to Just Jap today, as they had an M35 on their website which i wanted to drive unfortunately, it was off getting something done to it might talk to Just Jap about importing something, they're only a couple of suburbs away from me
  18. thanks guys yeah, i think the missus would prefer the M35, but i would prefer the 260RS will have to drive them both and see which we like better i guess happy to hear other opinions though
  19. hi all long time lurker, almost first time poster with a bub on the way, the missus seems to think we need a wagon, and what better place to start than a Stagea been looking around at it seems that you can get a 260RS or an M35 for around $25k (sometimes less) haven't actually had a chance to drive either yet, but my heart says 260RS my head says M35 260RS pros/cons: - RB26DETT mmmmm. .. . . - older car - possibly tracked/thrashed? M35 pros/cons: - newer car - less likely tracked, maybe thrashed thoughts? cheers guys
  20. maybe he wants you to post a pic so he can just print it out and try and pass it off as real???
