What was the overall product quality.

Typical stiff fiberglass didn't even take them out of the box to see how well they fit but $550 for copies is a bit steep considering you can get other copies out there for a lot cheaper. I wanted genuine as I am running a east bear front lip so wanted to keep the theme going.

  3. Hey guys and gals, just a few questions.

This is a quick run down on what I already have

    740cc nismo injectors

    Z32 afm

    Walbro fuel pump

    3 inch exhaust

    Apexi power fc

    Npc clutch

    Manley rods

    Pod filter

    High flowed rb25 turbo

    All making 215kwatw

My question is, I'm buying a hyper gear turbo very soon and I just wanted to know how much power roughly would the hyper gear turbo achieve? I can only run on 98 as we don't have it on pump in my area!

Thanks in advance for your reply

    Hi Ryanh2512,

You have pretty much the same mods as me, I just got my Hypergear Highflow from Stao installed and tuned yesterday. My car made 250rkwk on 18psi with the R33 21U Highflow very responsive and nice on the street. You may want to look into getting a 3inch metal intake pipe made up as well.

Also thanks Stao for the turbo :)

  4. I am with every one else if you want a decent setup to get the most out of the stock turbo I recomend just the basics, electronic boost controller, nistune ecu and retune could add a bigger intercooler if you wanted as well. Should be able to run about 10-12psi depending how good your clutch is and this setup won't cost you any more then $2,000

  5. If you want to get a more solid feel I would recomend the nismo solid shifter it's only a 10% shorter throw but its a solid piece so it will fix the slop in the standard shifter. I really can't see a 10% shorter shifter wrecking your synchros after all my GTT has had a proper short shifter in it for nearly 8 years and the gearbox still works fine.

  6. I'm struggling to believe a tuner bothered hooking up an accurate gauge onto your engine.

Can you confirm with them how they can to the conclusion of lowish pressure?

I doubt they did as well my guess is the oil in it now is way to thin thus making the engine a bit noisy once the oil is warm at idle. But any way the car is going for a retune and full inspection in 2 weeks.

  7. wouldn't hurt to do a leakdown test in the future but right now for the mods the car has its making the right amount of power so I am not to concerened about the engine being really tied. My guess is I need to run a thicker oil as I gets thiner as it heats up.
