  1. It's the same kit, it just comes with a different set of valves /springs to suit the later model box.

    I've had mine done ;)

Is there a part number for this kit?

I got a quote for $320 NZD but just want to make sure it's the right kit for the PNM35

  2. The sender itself gets a bit of crud and glazes up, so the copper connections aren't so flash. Go get yourself a new filter, cause your going to in there anyway, might as well do it, and clean the contacts off.

Make sure it has 1/2 tank or less, otherwise if it is full, it will pour out when you open it.

    Ok thanks for the info.

Cars booked in on Tomorrow for service, I will get it done when they change the fuel filter.

  3. Fuel gauge seems to have a mind of its own. This is the 3rd one that I've seen do it, so figured it's fairly common.

Start the car, fuel gauge is fine.

Start the car again and fuel gauge reads higher than it should or lower than it should be.

Stop and start the car , fuel gauge back to normal.

Ie. Fill up to half a tank, get 3/4 reading or 1/4 full.

Anyone got a known fix without re soldering dry joints.

    Connection to fuel sender perhaps?

  4. Yep, cheaper than a dealer, and able to look for specific options with an importer...

Seen similar cars for $20-25k through dealers, plus research suggests odometer playing...

Yes, I laugh when I see 2005 models with only 43,000k on the clock, 100,000 is more like it. You do get an odometer cert with an auction car that shows last 3 private owners...... Well I did :)

  5. Heya all. I'm a current Skyline owner and due to being a father and needing some more space I've decided to look at an M35 Stagea. I live in NZ so I don't believe the import restriction on 250s applies, but it's something I'm confirming. I plan to bring in a car myself so I can pretty much put together a shopping list of what I want, but I do need to buy it sight-unseen.

How much of a difference is there in petrol consumption between a 250RX and a 350RX4? I also wasn't sure if it would be worth considering a non-4WD 350, given the extra power. I haven't been able to find any petrol consumption stats about the M35's.

Are any M35's available with cruise control? It'd be a "nice to have" thing.

Any particular gotchas I should be on the look out for?

    Thanks in advance!

    Also,

    I am happy to help.

My car just got complied today.

I bought it from Japanese car auctions.

I highly recommend Provide Cars Japan, Eugene was my agent, he's awesome. Very helpful.

I can give you all the current information on what you need, how it's done, what it costs.

It's very addictive, I spent 2 weeks fighting for cars until I finally got one I wanted and at less than what I was expecting to pay.

Agents won't rip you off, they been in business for 14 years and are incredibly professional all the way to getting your car on the ship for you delivered to your doorstep.

Even got a radiation reading... So you know it won't glow at night :)

    NZ import facts

The 2.5L can no longer be imported into New Zealand because of the emission code is too old on the engine.

Only 3.5L Stageas can enter the country. They carry the. CBA emission code which allows it to be complied.

Only Japanese cars with the 3 digit emission code before the VIN are allowed in.

You can still purchase second hand stagea 2.5L that came into the country before this emission code law change.

Stageas are gas hungry, the 3.5L is 210Kw, that's more than most modern V8 :)

If you want the power, you pay for it at 14L for 100km. That's about $35 nzd for 100km travel around town.

You buy these cars if your into massive amounts of grunt, not if you are on a gas budget.

  7. Just get a full fluid service, change filters including cabin filter ( switched my air con on... Smelled like old socks :)

To save some $$$ do easy jobs yourself , spark plugs, air filter, cabin filter.

Get good shop do the fluids, fuel filter, radiator flush, transmission fluid.

Then learn to do the engine oil change and filter yourself, and the basic everyday running service stuff.

Reason why I suggest first service in country done by pros, you can get a service log book stamped, keep receipts.

This goes a long way if you ever sell it later.

  8. Yep, 3.5L Engine.

Imported to Australia through North Shore Prestige, and they're doing compliance as well.

Mine will work out around $15K AUD.

It's on the high seas at the moment, landing end of May, and I should be in it around mid june...

There's so many options for what to do, and so little money in the wallet :(

Is that a cheaper buy than through a car dealer?

Ie .. Are you getting a better car cheaper than whats for sale in the yards?

I know Australian compliance can be expensive, so is your import duty.

In New Zealand it's just the 15% gst and $350 compliance fee :)

  9. +1 interest in this thread. Got a 2004 350RX in Pearl White on the docks in Japan.

How much did you pay in total to get on the boat? ( car cost, agent fee, FOB transport )

    Going to NZ or Australia?

Total cost all up for mine complied was $9438.20 NZD ~ this includes all cost, tax, shipping, fees.

Compliance was straight through, nothing required. ~ Grade 4

  10. yeah seemed pretty good to me. I alredy have one o figured i would help someone out that needs one

Cheers, I need all sway bar gear.

  11. Looks greta btw, black car!

Hard to keep clean and swirl free!!!

Yes, I can see this will be adding a few extra hours of work to my tennis elbow.

I have an electric polish machine with the foam pad, left over relic from when I was a panel beater.

As much as I love a show room finish, shopping mall car parks quickly loose my proud smile :)

  12. Arrived yesterday.

    2005 pnm35 Axis S

    3.5L

Came with new set of Yokohama tyres

    103,000km on clock

Seems mint, was a grade 4.

    Drives real tight.

    Leather interior.

    My questions.

What should be the first thing to upgrade?

I want to keep factory wheels and factory exhaust.

    What's standard fuel economy for a PNM35 3.5L?post-133674-0-34329000-1399804492_thumb.jpg
