  1. Inside my Axis there are no lights on the auto shift panel Is there a dimmer switch hidden somewhere that I can't find? Granted you don't need them lit but I am curious to know if they are suppose to light up.
  2. Is there a part number for this kit? I got a quote for $320 NZD but just want to make sure it's the right kit for the PNM35
  3. Ok thanks for the info. Cars booked in on Tomorrow for service, I will get it done when they change the fuel filter.
  4. Cheers, A member PM'ed me and sold me exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.
  5. I am wanting to replace the standard factory radio or buy a double din face. Does anyone know any head units that fit or anywhere that sells a double din face? Car is a 2005 Axis.
  6. Fuel gauge seems to have a mind of its own. This is the 3rd one that I've seen do it, so figured it's fairly common. Start the car, fuel gauge is fine. Start the car again and fuel gauge reads higher than it should or lower than it should be. Stop and start the car , fuel gauge back to normal. Ie. Fill up to half a tank, get 3/4 reading or 1/4 full. Anyone got a known fix without re soldering dry joints. Connection to fuel sender perhaps?
  7. Yes, I laugh when I see 2005 models with only 43,000k on the clock, 100,000 is more like it. You do get an odometer cert with an auction car that shows last 3 private owners...... Well I did
  8. I will buy one bag of tricks thanks Just add me to your customer list.... Before this cash gets spent on the horses....
  9. Also, I am happy to help. My car just got complied today. I bought it from Japanese car auctions. I highly recommend Provide Cars Japan, Eugene was my agent, he's awesome. Very helpful. I can give you all the current information on what you need, how it's done, what it costs. It's very addictive, I spent 2 weeks fighting for cars until I finally got one I wanted and at less than what I was expecting to pay. Agents won't rip you off, they been in business for 14 years and are incredibly professional all the way to getting your car on the ship for you delivered to your doorstep. Even got a radiation reading... So you know it won't glow at night
  10. NZ import facts The 2.5L can no longer be imported into New Zealand because of the emission code is too old on the engine. Only 3.5L Stageas can enter the country. They carry the. CBA emission code which allows it to be complied. Only Japanese cars with the 3 digit emission code before the VIN are allowed in. You can still purchase second hand stagea 2.5L that came into the country before this emission code law change. Stageas are gas hungry, the 3.5L is 210Kw, that's more than most modern V8 If you want the power, you pay for it at 14L for 100km. That's about $35 nzd for 100km travel around town. You buy these cars if your into massive amounts of grunt, not if you are on a gas budget.
  11. I'm keen for a kit sent to New Zealand. For a PNM35 Axis S
  12. Nice, you got the turn signal mirrors, they rare. Those look like original Axis factory option ones.
  13. Just get a full fluid service, change filters including cabin filter ( switched my air con on... Smelled like old socks To save some $$$ do easy jobs yourself , spark plugs, air filter, cabin filter. Get good shop do the fluids, fuel filter, radiator flush, transmission fluid. Then learn to do the engine oil change and filter yourself, and the basic everyday running service stuff. Reason why I suggest first service in country done by pros, you can get a service log book stamped, keep receipts. This goes a long way if you ever sell it later.
  14. Is that a cheaper buy than through a car dealer? Ie .. Are you getting a better car cheaper than whats for sale in the yards? I know Australian compliance can be expensive, so is your import duty. In New Zealand it's just the 15% gst and $350 compliance fee
  15. The 2's have the nicer interior Got some serious grunt the 3.5L
  16. How much did you pay in total to get on the boat? ( car cost, agent fee, FOB transport ) Going to NZ or Australia? Total cost all up for mine complied was $9438.20 NZD ~ this includes all cost, tax, shipping, fees. Compliance was straight through, nothing required. ~ Grade 4
  17. New Zealand Sway Bars. Try: http://sasgroup.co.nz/contact.php for sway bars or your local Auto Alignment store.
  18. I'm in NZ, there is a new guy bringing in Cosco stuff, I haven't had time to contact him but pretty sure he gives trade discount. May be a faster way to go. I will get his details and post.
  19. PM'd this guy a few times, no answer. Guess he's a busy man.

    2005 Axis S 3.5L

    From the album: My stuff

Just delivered from Japan. Total landed cost including purchase price, FOB, shipping, agent fees, tax, transport $ 9088.19 NZD Quick wash and hand polish before the car goes off to be complied. Came with near new set Yokohama tyres, new rear leather seat, new mat set, new boot set, parcel tray curtain. Grade 4 ( small blemish on roof ~ cut and polish will fix it ) ( small cut in bottom side of drivers seat ) ~ can't see it, doesn't bother me Underneath of car is like new, still has polished stainless steel/aluminium from factory. ( no rust yay !!!! ) Under bonnet very clean, no oxidation on any aluminium parts, all panel bolts no rust, never been undone.
  23. I am also in New Zealand , Auckland. I will need everything for a PNM35 Axis S Front and rear full fitting kits.
  24. Yes, I can see this will be adding a few extra hours of work to my tennis elbow. I have an electric polish machine with the foam pad, left over relic from when I was a panel beater. As much as I love a show room finish, shopping mall car parks quickly loose my proud smile
  25. Thanks for the info. Also for the double din fascias to install touch screens. Is there a better brand or shop that sells them? All air con buttons still work etc...... I do have a mate who lives in Japan if this helps.
