    H.i.d Light Installation R33

    Ok guys,

    I recently purchased a HID kit off of Slide.

    Its a 10,000K 55w kit and im very impressed. Throws a nice light and it isnt too blue.

    Heres the pics and a bit of a run through of my install :D

    heres where I mounted the passenger side unit. I used one of the many threaded holes that were already present (probably from the airbox)

    and simply used a tek screw for the other hole. Remove the airbox if you have one.

    You can see in this photo, that the rubber grommet assembly that came in my set had the wires for powering the unit running through it. I decided I would cut these off because it would have been a little messy to fit the new grommet and the old into the one fitting (if you dont understand hang in there, the next few pics may help).

    Heres the cap for your headlight. The small hole is where the original lamp power cables run. I drilled mine out with a 25mm holesaw so the new rubber seal would sit nicely.

    Heres what it looked like after drilling. The hole is offset a little to make sure it drilled over the older smaller hole.

    I stripped back the power cable that I had cut loose from the rubber grommet on the light assembly and added some lugs. This was done to the original lamp power cables also. On the original cables, my green wire was positive (the one that originally connected directly on the back of the lamp). Take care with your polaritys. I managed to accidently put the power plug in the unit upside down originally. I Didnt hurt it, but there was alot of confusion when it would work.

    This is what my wiring looked like (note, you can see the power cables I had cut running through the new grommet. It is cut flush on the inside and out, I left the cores there as a sort of plug :down:.

    Heres a photo of where I mounted the electronic starter on the drivers side. Washer bottle is removed for ease of install.

    10,000K light. Note the colour of the parkers, which are the same coulour as my original halogen lights.

    Thats it guys. So far im very impressed. The light is great and the original reflectors throw the light out pretty nicely.

    Sorry about the blur. The pics were a last minute idea taken with my phone.

    i dont know, just took a guess that the silver 33 in your avatar pictures was your car? if it is, then i think i saw you drive past the markets last sunday while i was in there walking round. its ok im not stalking you...lol

    There are quite a few silver 33's in town. actually a fair few imports here these days (like everywhere else)

    Hey paul,

    EDIT: missed that bit in the guide. think i have the wrong model hand controller.

    I have a powerfc serial number: ECR33 010 - 1452

    And hand controller number : FCC3 020 - 11909 (I dont have a rotary hand controller do I?)

    I couldnt find any numbers similar to 415 - X001 etc and your link to nengun isnt valid anymore (nengun seem to have removed all apexi gear)

    Exhaust Cam Gear

    Hi guys,

    I looked up an old adjustable cam gear thread but couldnt find any information about the compatabilitys with the standard ECU.

    Going by the post everyone got the best results on the RB25 with about 3 degrees advance?

    Is this ok, and will I see any benefit on a Standard ECU? is it safe etc?

    ha ha im in gladstone atm, will be here till wednesday, im leaving thursday, what the hell is there to do in this place? lol keep an eye out for my white 33gtst plates 85URK if u were out driving round yesterday i think i saw your car, i have seen a few lines round in gladdy, but there isnt alot a few wrx's aswell.

    Yeh its not extremely interesting but thursday nights arent to bad (waterfront).

    How do you know what my car looks like is my next question! :D

    Apexi Power Fc

    Hey guys I have a question about the power fc that i couldnt find an answer to.

    I recently bought a second hand power fc and was told by the guy that had it that my car wouldnt run on it (he had monster turbo, cams, injectors etc).

    So heres my dilema, If i reset the power fc, will it go back to the base map they are purcahsed with (fingures crossed)?

    or will I have to find someone who has the map saved so I can download it?

    The reason I am doing this is so I can check everything is ok before making the 6 hour drive to my nearest tuner. :D
