  1. Holy Shit... That's crazy expensive. I'm guessing you are young or possibly have a bad rating?I got a quote & it is less than half of what you are paying. Look below for more info. Yeah I wouldn't have thought NRMA would insure it either... I got a quote through Just Cars, comprehensive cover, I based it on a 2012 370GT SP Coupe Auto. I put an agreed value of $40,000 for an example, as I have know idea what the real value is? I'm not sure if they do market value? I didn't see the option. They also allow an unlimited amount of legal mods. Total annual premium $716, $650XS. Total annual premium $774, $450XS. Pretty stoked with that. Can some other members please post what they are paying and who with, or PM me if you are not comfortable letting everyone else know. It will be a big help and of course will save a lot of time.Thanks.
  2. Nice looking ride. So it is K23, colour code? I really like the wheels too, did you keep them? The boot spoiler is nice touch as well, which is what I will be adding. Is it the standard extra option Nissan one, or another make? Also I reckon it looks pretty mean lowered, not to everyone's taste I know. I would love to get Chris to do my Cruise Control, only thing standing in the way is, I live in S.A. Not sure where Iron Chef do their Compliance on the cars coming in?Also Dave, as I said, the sunroof was high on my list of options, so I'm really disappointed I can't get it due to my height if anyone has any ideas on this please let me know. I mentioned it to Troy F, as soon as I read your post. He of course remembered you and your wife and came up with an idea (not sure if he has contacted u?) since you already have the sunroof, he said try the option of lower seat rails. Better & cheaper surely then new roof etc.
  3. The place where I found those crappy stickers from, has come up with some better ones. They are $33 bucks I'm not associated with this place, just thought I'd chuck it out there. I reckon I will go that option, seems the cheapest way to go, without looking too crappy. . this is the original really crappy ones.
  4. Holy Shit! Thanks man. I typed in 'insurance' under the V series Skyline section and that sure as hell didn't come up for me?Thanks mate
  5. I had to start a new topic. I'm giddy like a child again, I haven't felt that way for some time I've put in my search forms to Iron Chef and I'm now in a holding pattern until we find the right car for me I will keep you all updated if anyone is interested. Some will have seen from my previous posts, I sometimes take a while making a decision I think it's more to do with this being my first imported car and I can't see it in person and I only get one bite at the cherry. It's not like I can say, "I don't like it send it back" or anything..... So I wonder what the odds are I change my mind on the colour again a few times during the process So I will count on you all, for your input at times. More minds the better I say. On a slightly pessimistic note and jumping the gun, how do the imported cars resell in Australia? Is the marketplace pretty healthy? I've been on CarSales for awhile now and there seems to be quite a few V35's and older V36's for sale. I haven't seen many at all of the newer model V36's for sale, like I will be getting. I hope by getting the newer V36 it will not be harder to sell (when & if the time comes) because Australia has now started selling them. I guess the thing I have up my sleeve is the price difference? I'm sure it's a smaller group of people that would buy them, considering the Japanese language and certain options that can't be used in Australia. Also mine will not be a collectors car like the GTR really falls into. Cheers, Paul
  6. Well I've finally done it..... No I haven't had a crash, well not recently anyway... I've sent my search form off to my Good man Troy from Iron Chef, oh yeah So it's a waiting game now until I get my new baby. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, I even typed 'insurance' in the search option but I couldn't find any info I was after. I also have a background in the insurance industry, don't judge I'm out of the game now. So I know how limited my options are regarding insurance on an imported car. This will also be my first time dealing with a car I have imported, it's actually my first time with the Nissan brand altogether. So I want things to go as smoothly possible. So who does everyone recommend? It will obviously be full comprehensive cover and a daily driver. Thanks, Paul
  7. What about the Quicksilver Exhausts? The Dealer in Australia is Road and Track. How do they compare to the one you are talking about? http://www.quicksilverexhausts.com/INFINITI_pricecatalogue.htm
  8. Holy shit! Boy am I glad I read your post. The sunroof was a must have for me but I'm 6'2 then some.. I had never heard anyone else mention this before? I assume they haven't changed the ride height for later models? I'm going for 2009 & above. Sorry to you mate, I'm sure it would be as annoying as hell. Did you buy the Liquid Platinum (K23) which is the only silver? Can u please post pic for me of the colour. If want to sell Chuck it on Car Sales, they are selling like hot cakes. I totally agree about the cruise control. However like Xfuzion said there wouldn't be much need for it in Japan, total different story in the USA. It does suck big time. The only solution I think that is available is to get an aftermarket one through Chris. As for the Sat Nav, that sucks big time too. I'm still going to get it with it, because I don't want to lose the Bose stereo option. I will just get a portable Sat Nav and hope that in the future someone will crack the software part of it, like the Russian blokes have done with the V35. If any one knows of a four seater coupe that has the same power, looks and build quality for a similar price, let me know.
  9. Damn Pete, you can't be just flashing pics of your black car around willy nilly.... You need to warn me first Argh, I still love the black and I love the stealthed out look. I would get rid of most chrome & also black the wheels, grill, windows etc. Love it..... I went to fill out the search form last night to get my import process started and I would have put the Graphite/Grey colours however the form didn't go through. Now after being reminded how great black can look, I might be back at square one again and go Black.... It's so frustrating especially since I can't see the car colours in person
  10. Haha Serious, I didn't even think of turbo, doh. I thought once you start adding turbos, super chargers etc you then have to do shitloads of extra mods $$$$ to make sure the standard car can take it. Damn I would be a happy chappy to whack one on the V36, oh yeah Surely it must cost megabucks and as I said above all the extra mods?
  11. Thanks for reply. I already know it's an extra option. What I really need to find out is if the factory cruise control it comes with can easily be converted to allow the speed be set above the 100km/h it is limited to in Japan. Much like how the car's speed is limited to 180km/h in Japan but if a speed limit Defencer is fitted in Australia, which is a cheap and easy fix, it will allow the car go to its max speed.
  12. I'm going to get the normal spoiler you see on them. As I haven't really seen another option that doesn't look ridiculous. You could try looking at VIS Bodykits. Let me know what you come up with. Link below to normal spoiler http://gocar.com.au/nissan-skyline-v36-coupe-guide/7
  13. Sorry to hijack the thread. On the topic of cruise control. I'm going to get the top spec V36 370GT. I don't know whether to get it with cruise control or without? In terms of converting it so you can set the speed limit above 100km/h. Anyone know if it's like the Sat Nav conversion in regards of money, cheaper to get it without cruise and just whack on a new one, or same price or dearer to convert the factory one it comes with? Thinking Chris is probably the one with the answers but if anyone else has info on the matter, can you please let me know. Cheers
  14. Bit like having a new lady on your arm each time, depending what colour they dye their hair The colour does look nice. This is what is making the decision so hard for me, as there are a few different grey colours that look almost identical. Also not seeing them in person, makes the task that much harder This chart is all I have to really go on. Buggered if I can pick the difference between the Grey colours. I'm hanging to get it sorted but since I'm importing, I have to get the colour choice right the first time round, as I'm sure Iron Chef won't give me a second bite at the cherry if I don't like the colour when it lands Also it doesn't help that I suck at making decisions sometimes. Damn I might as well go with the black again lol....
  15. Pete, you say the Twins you put on the nice blue V35. Do you mean an aftermarket exhaust system? If so what one?I saw a Quicksilver exhaust on a V36 and it looked very nice. Not sure if it helped a huge amount in terms of performance gains but I'm sure it would sound nice and it looks mean. http://www.quicksilverexhausts.com/Infiniti-GX37-Coupe-and-Convertible---Sport-Exhaust-(2009-on)_INFINITI_751_productbulletin.htm Edit - not sure if link takes you straight to the exhaust?
  16. I'm assuming the aftermarket cruise control lets you set the speed above 100km/h? Unlike the factory one from Japan which only allows up to 100km/h Also Can you post a pic?
  17. Cheers Yo-Yo. That's helped heaps mate I like The combo, wasn't sure if it would match. As you always want to do something to personalise your car, I didn't think I could do much in the way of the wheel colour. Do you know the exact colour of the car? There are a few different shades of Graphite/Grey, which doesn't help.
  18. Yeah Graphite is looking pretty sweet at the moment. Glad you said about the black rims. That's what I was thinking, just wasn't sure if it would be a good look or not? Seriously.... Nah, sorry no offence to owners of the white. Just not my style. Mind you I have seen some great ones with blacked out rims and windows. Just not what I'm after for my 370GT Coupe.
  19. Nathangr, you can add multiple pics in the one post. Instead of one per post. 'Choose file', then 'attach this file' and so on. BTW, nice ride. Pete, I spotted the blue car in your pic of garage showing your car cover set up. Very nice, once again. Quite a stable of toys you have I heard car covers can be bad, for reasons that they can scratch the car? Is there a certain cover you get over another? Or is it just not true, that they are bad? Steve, I really do love the black. You just can't beat it in terms of sheer looks, especially for a sports car. However the one I'm getting will be a daily driver, so unfortunately it will be just too impractical in terms of the amount of time I would have to spend on keeping it clean. Real bummer..... Have a look at the new post I've got going, 'Final colour choice'. Any input would be a big help. There is one particular colour Slate Blue, I like, but I don't know if it would show every little scratch, mark etc like the black. Cheers, fellas Paul
  20. Does the silver look really light, compared to other silver colour cars? It's really hard to tell looking at a rendered pic, compared to real life. Yeah love the Slate blue. The getting dirty part doesn't worry me so much. It's the showing up of every little scratch & swirl mark, like the black shows that does me in. So I'm not sure if the Blue would be like that? So hard not seeing in person... That's what I need to know. Love this big +1 My way of thinking. If someone knows if the Slate Blue would be like black, please let me know. If it is, then it's a no brainer for me, Graphite all the way I reckon... Damn hard.
