  1. Seriously that much.... That's bloody highway robbery! I couldn't find the IPL on the OZ site?
  2. Some will have seen that I started a previous thread about Black colour cars. I was pretty set on getting one in black but thanks to some helpful advice and I also had a chance to see one in person, I have decided against it. It would frustrate the hell out of me to keep clean. So I've pretty much narrowed it down to one or two colours. However I can't see any of them in person, as I live in the country and I'm pretty confident no one has a V36 in my neck of the woods. So once again if anyone has had any experience with the colour cars that I will attach a picture of please let me know. Or any advice in general will be great. It's for a 2009 & up V36 370GT Coupe SP. This is Slate Blue. I like the colour, however I'm not sure if it will show every little mark like the Black colour? This is Graphite Shadow (I think) I would think there wouldn't be too many dramas with this colour. This is normal silver I reckon. This is the colour I would normally pick, however I'm pretty sure seeing the colour in person and in the sunlight, it is a very light colour. Not as dark as the photo? I don't want it looking too light & washed out. Any input would be great. It's the last thing I need to get sorted before I can order the beast My ideal colour would be a Chrome like Silver but I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist. Cheers, Paul
  3. I thought the Japan prices were pretty good? I didn't find the Q60 IPL (equivalent) on Japan site. However I'm pretty sure when I converted the V36 370GT SP Coupe over to AUD the price worked out to $54,000 On the USA site in had the price of the same car from $48,000 ish AUD So I wouldn't have thought there would be a lot of difference? If it is in GTR price territory, then yeah, GTR everyday of the week... I know get the USA Q60 IPL and convert to RHD, easy... Yeah right I'm sure
  4. Thanks Nightcrawler, I found the gocar website a few days ago, it's a great site. Heaps of information. I noticed the 3.5L Hybrid a while ago on the OZ site. Sure is nice and as you said the specs are awesome. If I had $82,000 approx for the top model laying around I would think of dishing it out on that.Better yet I was looking on the USA Infiniti site & the 2014 Q60 IPL looks awesome. Loving the body kit & it has a nice tuned 348hp/260kw engine. Very nice, damn we miss out big time in Australia, not only do we not get the models but our prices are Farking insane.... http://www.infinitiusa.com/coupe/q60-ipl Very nice ride Nismo. Like I've said I reckon you can't beat the colour black, it's a real head turner. It would just do my head in keeping it spotless Big thanks to everyone who has replied, you have all helped me out heaps I've definitely changed my mind on getting the black. I'm going to start another post, as I've pretty much narrowed down the colours I'm going for. I can't see these cars in person to judge the colours, as I live in the country & I know for sure no one has one. So again any opinions will be a big help. It's the last thing I need to get sorted before I can order my beast Cheers, Paul
  5. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-2012/SSE-AD-2810335/?Cr=0&sdmvc=1 Nightcrawler, This is the car from the picture I posted. To me they look like two different shades of Blue, from your link to mine. What do you guys reckon? The dark blue colour looks bloody nice, I'm just not sure if it would show all the marks like a black car. Also if anyone can please point me in the the right direction for what colours I can choose from for a 2009 (and upwards to the latest year) V36 370GT Coupe. I saw the post on here with hundreds of different colours, but it doesn't have it split up into models V36 etc. It's the last thing I need to get sorted before I can start the process of importing my baby. Any help, would be great. Cheers, Paul
  6. Got back from the big smoke yesterday, well Adelaide... hey I live in the country. Looked at a nice 370Z Pearl White, never thought I would like the white but doesn't look too bad, especially with the black wheels etc. Nice rides the 370Z's just to impractical for main car with only two seats. Saw a brand new GTR.... DRool. Torture walking away from it. So anyway I got to see two V36 370GT, one in black and the other in the grey or dark silver? I was blown away how every little scratch and swirl mark etc showed up big time, in the black. Also the black looks kinda faded... You are all right, it would do my head in trying to keep it semi clean for all of three hours, if lucky. Pity. So black is definitely out now. I reckon it's going to be either the grey? (Could someone let me know if it is called grey?) and is there only one silver to pick from? Which looks quite light in colour. I would actually like a chrome like silver, that would be sweet. Other colour I'm thinking of is the Slate Blue, I will attach a pic of that colour. Does Anyone reckon that would show up every little mark like black? I can't see one in person as I know they are a rarer colour.
  7. Damn 89CAL, that is one hot looking ride. The wing also adds to it perfectly. I have a thread going in the V Series Skyline section, debating if I should get a black colour car or not. After reading others comments I'm having serious doubts about getting that colour..... and thinking I go silver, like I always have. I just don't have the time to be hand cleaning it, well not enough to keep it looking smick. So I would have to run it through the Auto Car Wash, the type that has no brushes, just high pressure water etc. But I'm not sure if that is good for the paint etc. But after seeing how damn perfect your ride looks, I'm back at square one again. Thinking I should go the black.... Damn it ! You should put up a warning before you splash pics about of your car..... Lol
  8. It will be kept undercover for sure. The carwash I use is the type without brushes, nothing touches the car. Surely it won't get scratched by that process? I use it on my Bimmer which is a dark grey and I don't reckon any scratches come from the car wash. Yeah Sinergymotorsports was were I was going. I haven't found any place else that have them... Don't worry they have never been in the running to get one from. I reckon I know what car you are talking about. I went to the 'Japanese History Check' site and paid to get a copy of an auction sheet for a certain car I have been talking about recently. Anyway I saw a warning on their Facebook page about the car from Adelaide man the BS a lot of these places try to get away with is out of control...Cheers
  9. Yeah just can't beat black, especially on a sporty car. I got an idea, if the dust builds up to much after running the car through a car wash, I'll hit it up with an outdoor blower vac ... It's a hard choice but I reckon I might go for it... Maybe, arghh I dunno. It would help if I could see the 370GT in person. Speaking of that, I will be in Adelaide on the 18th of this month, Wednesday coming. If anyone knows of somewhere that has the 370GT coupe any colour, could you please let me know. I haven't even seen one in person, let alone sat in one or driven it. I reckon it might be a good idea to do that before I order mine. Cheers
  10. Yeah thought as much about the keeping clean part... But like said they just look so damn hot. Even that Liberty looks sexy Josh... Never thought I'd say that : - P Our weather is similar to Perth, Summers are mid to high 40's easily. I will most definitely be getting the Sun roof option. Also I plan on hopefully moving to Cairns in the future, so should be interesting up there with all the rain... That black car in the pic from Kadina looks similar to a guy I know selling his 350GT in Adelaide. I love the black stealthed out look. I'm thinking of doing something similar if I do go the Black. Also the lights look cool, reminds of lights from an Audi I think it was? Now I know this might sound like sacrilege but I actually run my cars through the automated car wash :-o not the kind with brushes, I wouldn't be that cruel. I just don't have the time to be waxing and polishing my cars, so I guess I will be hitting that up a lot with the Black. I will add some pics of the 350 GT that is for sale, I think the blacked out look, looks good also the lights look cool as. If anyone knows where to get them can you let me know. For a 370GT though. Also I'm going to add a pic of the Blue Slate colour I think it's called. Do you reckon it would be just as hard to keep clean as black?
  11. My preferred colour of choice for my new car will be Black. Anyone been there & done that? If so please share your experiences in living with the car, like trying to keep clean etc. Any tips you have learnt along the way in keeping it clean for longer? And would you recommend the colour? I have heard that if a grounding thingy, you know, like you used to see underneath a car to combat motion sickness, is used then it reduces greatly the amount of dust that will cling to the paint. Not sure if true or not?
  12. Still look a lot better than this sticker kit being sold Also I found this being sold through a local parts place and it wasn't very dear. I'm not well versed in how this all works, so not sure if the factory Fascia would pop off and then fit this?
  13. I know to get a copy of the De-Reg and Auction Papers. You mention though an Export Certificate? Is this something completely different then the papers I have mentioned? When I ask for them I want to make sure I sound like I know what I'm talking about
  14. Nice, a lot better than the crappy sticker option. I will send u a PM for more info. Cheers, Paul
  15. Once my car gets here you can add me to your list for the Russian guys to do the job. It certainly would be a lot better solution. Mine will be a 370 GT coupe at least a 2009 and up. Mikhail, I have been talking to Chris and he has said, like he has to everyone else it's better to get the car without Sat Nav as it's cheaper for him to do. But I want a top spec car and it is obviously harder to find one without Navi. So as I understand it the only thing you gain when Chris does it is the Australian maps themselves and that's it. Is that correct? Oh and also you lose the Bose sound System? But if I just buy a portable Sat Nav for the car does that seem the way to go and then can I use all the other functions on the built in Sat Nav that comes with the car. I just have to learn my way around the menus? It would be a much cheaper and preferred way to go, which means I can use the factory Bose sound system etc and not to mention my budget for initial purchase of the car can be higher. I have been agonising over this, as I couldn't narrow it down as to what I can and can't use if I don't get it changed through Chris. Any info and clarification on the matter would be a huge help. Cheers, Paul
  16. Hey, don't worry I'm seriously considering it That way I would assume I can still use the other functions on the factory Sat Nav screen?, once I master the Japanese languish Also I could still use the Bose premium sound system, oh yeah...
  17. Hah, Shot down in flames already. I just spoke to a good bloke at Road and Track (used to be IMG) and he said he was doing the above process on a couple of cars but he wasn't happy with the results. He was basically piggy backing off the existing system, which would mean that sometimes it was like a mirror image and the Jap writing etc would show through at times. The only real plus about it was, that you could still use the Bose system. By the way he drives a Skyline as well. So it looks like Chris still remains the Guru, unless someone else has cracked it
  18. So I came across International Motor Group (IMG) or Road and Track is what the website comes up as now. I like many other V36 owners (I'm not yet but hope to be soon) have had this shocker of a problem with the Sat Nav conversion. I have followed some of the threads and have also spoke to Chris Rogers, the Guru it seems in regards to this problem. I would like to keep the Bose sound system in place and not have to worry about sourcing a top spec V36 without Sat Nav, so Chris can work his magic. Compared to having a Sat Nav already in place and it being a huge headache to get the work done plus extra price. Anyway IMG, can do the conversion with Sat Nav in place and using iGO, which by my limited research thus far appears to be the software side of things. It is also a touch screen. I'm going to speak to them later today so I can find out more details. I don't know if this has been discussed yet? I did a search for iGO on the forums and nothing came back? Please let me know if this is nothing new and or a complete waste of time. I will try and include a Pic of the Nav home screen. Cheers
  19. Nah I didn't say for sure I wouldn't get one cheaper through Iron Chef. I said I didn't think I would get it much cheaper? I have been dealing with Troy from Iron chef and he has been outstanding. I have also shown him the details of this vehicle and price etc. Now I don't know what to do.... Arggh. This will be the first import vehicle I would be buying, so I bloody hope I get it right. Thanks everyone for all the info. It really has been helpful and has given me plenty to think about. One good suggestion I came across on here was to get it checked out independently by Tunehouse in Marrickville Sydney (if they do that?) since I won't be there in person. Anyone think that's a good idea? Also I have sent a PM to Kristian to get his thoughts on the matter, so hopefully I get a reply. As I would still like to go through them but this car does seem like a good deal. If anyone still has more thoughts on the matter and about Tunehouse idea please let me know. Also I have no drama sharing the pics and price with anyone that has more experience than me, so you can gauge for yourself if I'm making the right decision. Thanks again, Paul
  20. My first choice was to import & yes it would be through the respected iron chef. However this car came up unexpectedly & it has everything I want and I really don't think I would get it much cheaper through the Chef Master? They have no probs supplying the paperwork, Dereg papers & auction papers. That's all the paperwork I would need isn't it? Also on that, how do you find out if the car itself has had anything happen to it in Japan? Things like storm/water damage or an accident etc. Would that be disclosed on the dereg papers? I was initially going to fly there and have a look personally at the car, but I've changed my mind now. Instead I will ring RAA & get them to send an independent mechanic to look over the vehicle for me. The car itself is a 2011 with around 11,000 km on the clock, so I wouldn't think there would be anything to worry about? Famous last words right.... Bloody better not be. Surely I'm not the only one that's gone through an Australian car dealer? If they supply all of the above, please let me know if you all think its still a terrible idea to go through them. Cheers
  21. G'day all, My first post of many I hope. I have been lurking around the forums for a week or so and have already gleamed a lot of useful info. So I thought it was about time I joined. I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with http://www.motorpointsydney.com.au I'm thinking of going through them for a Skyline 370GT coupe. I live in another state, so I can't check them out personally. Any info at all will be a big help. Cheers
