  1. Got recommended to use a BorgWarner EFR turbo that is internally wastegated, this give me more room to play. But I have difficult on deciding on a manifold. Anyone that have a opinon? Full-Race and RAW is above limits. Both T4 twin scroll and T3 open scroll is alternative, but not with wastegate ports.
  2. The suspension I'm running is Intrax Racing 1k2 ARC Black Titan, cost just under 5000euro The 3.2l engine that I had I'm using Motorsport Hardware bullet nose studs with extended race nuts Brakes is updated to E36M3 all over. Running Performance Friction discs front and Performance Friction 11 Compound pads round, with PFC brake fluid and Goodridge steel braided hoses. Interior is Recaro Pole Position ABE and carbon fiber
  3. Single 5454 yes. I don't know, so I'm open for input. But in order to get it approved it needs to be equal to the stock twins. The 5454 is rated to 495hp
  4. Thanks! I don't have any more updates. Doing some planning on how to do things. I have bought a plug and play wiring harness from Wiring Specialists in USA, so there will be no eletcial issues on the engine side at least. It was shitty expencive. This build is going to be road legal and approved, so there is coming a guy from the road unit to inspect the car before I go on with the build. I'm looking at the Precision 5454E turbo, is that a good choice? The turbo needs to be equal spec to the stock twins in order to get it road legal with a single, so I can't go big on the turbo. Aim is 4-450 crank HP as i mentioned. Here is some pictures of how the car looked in this super short season I had this year. Got this bad boy in the rear axle! I have ordered a set of these wheels, they are ETA in Norway in the start of December. Should make a nice chrismas present for myself, even though I payed them in July!
  5. I'm new to the forum and to the RB26 engine. I'm a car enthusiast from Norway, and my main passion is with BMW. I belong to the Gran Turismo generation and have fancy the Skyline since playing Gran Turismo on Play Station. The RB26 have a beautyful sound that I just have been dreaming of having. I bought myself a BMW M3 seven years ago, it then had the stock 4 cylinder engine. In 2010 I swaped it for a S50B32, a 3.2l E36M3 engine with 321hp/350nm. This summer that one did not want to play my game anymore, so I pulled it and sold it. My plan was to go even newer M3 engine, from the E46M3. As time passed by there was also a LOT other E30's in Norway going the same route. So I needed a new plan. And as lightning from clear sky I got the idea of the RB26. My car is LHD just to make things more complicated, but hey, it is a hobby and I got time. I sourced a R32 GTR engine with 115000km. I bought it from a shop and they fixed me a R33 GTS gearbox and push type clutch. As I mentioned, I have not any experience with the RB26. So that is one of the reasons I'm making this thread here, so you can come with input and I can ask here instead of making 30 new threads. I have been reading a lot about the RB the last weeks, and have gotten some basic info. Anyway, here is some pictures. Removed the diff and the AC pump This is pretty much how the engine will sit In order to get the engine as far back as possible, I had to cut some of the oilpan. Not much room for twins here, so single it is! The RB is not as high as a BMW engine, so this sits low in the egnine bay. Very nice! Need to modify a bit here around the heater pipes. Hope I can cut some out of the rockercover to make more room. The gearbox hole need to be modded as well. Probably cut out an use the dogleg shifter that people use when swapin the RB25 gearbox in the 200sx.
  6. Nope, you are talking Norwegian Viking horses
  7. I need more spesific turbo names, since I don't know shit about the number on the turbos yet Best responsive single turbo setup will be...? OBX manifold?
  8. Cheers Did get the engine yesterday, so I have been wrenching a bit today. Tested in the car and removed the oilpan to get the diffhousing cut off. If the result is that I just can't get room for the twins, what will be the most responsive single turbo option?
  9. A bit overkill with so big injectors or? Better safe than sorry though.
  10. He also questioned why I bothered putting the old worn out and unreliable RB engine in a BMW instead of a M3 og M5 engine. He had used insane amount on his engine and it was never any good. My plan is to make it reliable. A rebuild now, proper oil system, poper oil ventilation, good turbos and there will be some years before she needs to be taken care of again I hope. Not going to run insane hp anyway.
  11. Sweet. Can someone school me on the Kinugawa turbos? They have three kits on Ebay that I fancy. Tanked to local turbo man, he claimed 500+ from stock turbos with steel turbine.
  12. Yes, that is my plan as well. The stock motor will be slower then the one I had. That was a 236kw/350nm NA engine.
  13. Ok, you are way over my hp goal then. E85 is not an option for me though. So, 600cc SARD injectors and a set of 7's should do? Probably need to make my own elbows.
  14. I have checked out the N1, the R34's and the Kinugawa TD05H-16G and the TD06SL2-20G, don't know the difference on the latter two. The TOMEI Arms kit does not fit into the budget. MIght get the Tomei headers though. There is already a Bosch 044 in line fuel pump in the car by the way.
  15. Hello fellow car people! I'm going to collect my first RB26DETT engine on saturday to start my BMW E30M3 NIS///MO project. The last couple of weeks I have spent hours on hours reading about the engine and what I should take care of first. To get you up to date I use my car as a sunday car, but I want it to perform well on the track. I don't attend any competitions, I just fancy driving as fast laps as possible. The car it setup with very expencive suspension and brake parts etc. My aim is reliable 400-450hp without doing too much modificaton this winter. What I want to do how ever is to get the oil breating and lubrication sortet first thing first. That include stripping the engine I guess. I have spent some time in the oil control thread, and have got some of a clue on what is going on. The list that I have come up with on the top of my head I will give you a write up on. I want to install the engine and do all the wiring and hardware work before taking it out again and do the oil job. So, I have gotten my hands on a 110.000km R32 GTR engine that is late model with pull clutch. This is beeing matet with a R33 GTS-T 5 speed gearbox and converted to push type clutch. This is beeing done by the shop that I'm buying the engine from. Engine is complete swap except AFM's. So, the list will be: -N1 oil pump with billett gear -1mm restrictors (mainly street, but hard when it is on track) Two pcs pr engine? -2l oil catch tank with two plugs for each rocker cover and two for the sump with filters on top -Mines or equal rocker cover baffles -Tomei oilpan baffle kit -10mm drilling of the oil returns (is that in the block or head? Both?) -Nitto crank collar -Fluiddampr I see it is recommended to expand the sump. If I'm not wrong the sump will be pretty low in the E30, so if I'm going to expand the sump it will need to be to the right or the left. My plan is to use the GTR sump, but remove the excess frontwheel drive stuff that it has on it and plug the holes for the driveshafts. As far as hp gaining is, I'm building my own 3" exhaust, using stock turbos at first, intercooler will be about the same size as stock Skyline, probably need to make my own suction kit and turbo elbows. What do I need to do with the ECU? Do I need bigger injectors? Adjustable fuelpressure regulator? So, it anyone have som input to a noob on RB's it would be nice. Or am I totally baked here? Cheers from Norway!
