  1. Intresting topic Jetpilot Im tempted to try this stuff out in the truck I drive at work. It has an onboard computer that gets downloaded everytime we refuel. This thing has sensors for everything so the boss can grill us over why we drive up the road with our foot resting on the clutch or why we used x amount of fuel to go x amount of kays. how hard we rev it, how many gears we crunch (umm change). 450hp @1800max rpm 18gears 49.5 tons, runs 24/7 averages a 1000kays a day averages 1.8kays per liter of diesel you interested Jetpilot
  2. AWD and 4WD AWD esentially has its power delivered variably between the front and the read (via diff, torque spliter, viscous coupling, whatever) if 1 wheel has no traction then the car will slip. 4WD is locked (ie equal power delivered to the rear/forward and its locked) so you have to have 1 rear wheel and 1 front wheel spinning before you start to slip. this asumes no LSD in the above setups GT-R's are closer to a 4WD system than a AWD note some AWD's have a lock for the central diff basicaly turning them into a 4WD
  3. anyone a member at the r31skylineclub forum ..... send admin a message there e-mail verification is not working says something like an "error has ocurred" and "email verification sent " or give me the e-mail to admin so I can personally abuse him :Pimp2: . (<- umm joke) been trying for 2 weeks now
  4. Took it for a test drive on friday. Yeah the manual is looking like a must have item.... the auto's a bit sloooooowww off the line. Didn't really do anything until it hit the 50 to 60km/h mark (can you say LAG  ) then it felt like a bullet. maybe a higher stall converter if I keep the auto The thump on the auto as it swaped gears at redline felt a little rude . had a quick check with a mechanic m8 of mine, the motor is fresh, compression check showed dead even across the six , he thinks its had a rebuild (good for me).
  5. had to take this photo from across the street hehe dont want to seem to excited still hoping to knock a few dollars off the price.
  6. thanx for the intrest guys yeah Im going to be pretty dam happy if I get the car for $5500 and do the compliance my self... Seems pretty easy, new double snap seat belts, remove the sunvisors(theres wire in them motor rego dont like em), unleaded filler head for the petrol tank and side intusion bars would be hard if I dint know (sh!tloads) of mechanics. hes basically told me its about 600-800 by the time I get past the cops at motor rego. the rest is all paying for his time to drive it around to get the work done. probally only mods I will do is 3in exaust for $350 , bigger intercooler and $200 and a cooler for the auto. but later on. ohh! why cant it be a rb25det motor ....cry!!!! it would make my day I got a pic of it but cant upload atm unless the forum allows direct uploads of pics
  7. I checked on the car today GTS-X rb20det front door says "24valve ceramic turbo and hicas" what the hell is hicas ...does my car get hicups or what honestly this thing looks like it was owned by grandma and grampa. Still got the original factory embroided seat cover( looks like a tea-cosy) the sratches and dent look like they were from the shipping container since this car was only bought here to be scrapped for its parts, but the owner at the wreckers liked it too much. personally Im going for $5500 option and picking up the turbo maual box as well as doing the complyance and fitting gear box myself. Im also kinda not worried about the maual gearbox as I drive a big truck and make about 1900 gear changes a day acording to the computer log yeah I would have liked to signed up on that other forum , but signup didnt work for me.
  8. hi Im looking at a 1989 R31 gts turbo auto. its imported hasnt been complied yet and going $6900 , minor dent on right front fender and minor scratches on roof paint. its advertized as $5500 uncomplied $6900 with them doing the compliance and $7500 to fit a turbo manual box I got confussed because he says its a '89 but its definatly the squarish looking skyline. but Im having trouble find phots of a similar looking car. the motor is a straight six red cam (looks like a twin cam) cover and ceramic turbo. it also got the GTS crome badge on the radiator grill and GTS sticker on the side. The interior black/grey is in great conditon for its age with the deep bucket seats fully optioned electrics. Is this a good buy what option out of the 3 prices would you pick? can anyone tell me about this motor? why its good or bad I was going to buy a r32 but theres something about the retro 31's that keep me interested and this is the best 1 Iv seen to date.
